It seemed appropriate after driving the beautiful old scenic highway to stop here It was a nice touch that the gentleman who checked us in left his station to operate the antique list to take us to our third floor corner room The room was very spacious with quality furnishing and bedding The grounds were well worth wandering through from...

When we arrived at the hotel they did not have our reservation. They gave us a room but we had to wait an hour because the room wasn't clean. Our room faced the highway and was noisy. The front desk people were extremely nice but were understaffed...we were constantly interrupted during Checkin and checkout because the clerk had to answer...

Dear Ross D, We strive to provide world-class hospitality to each and every one of our guests, we clearly failed to deliver on this instance. Rest assured all mentioned issues will be addressed. I can assure you that while this is unacceptable, this is not the typical experience the majority of our guest are accustomed to. We hope to have...

I agree with the consensus reviews on this hotel: lovely wooded setting along the river, period property-circa 1920's, well maintained, with very good customer service. The room size and amenities are average. The decor is retro 1920's. The bed has a foam mattress-not my comfort standard. The A/C was too noisy. The room was spotlessly clean and well maintained. We...

Dear Micheal G, Thank you for the great review! We have enjoyed the challenge of restoring the hotel without sacrificing its historic charm. I am happy to say that we will be replacing all guest room windows this November, this will eliminate majority of highway noise heard on the garden side of our property. Best Regards, The CGH Team

We enjoyed three nights at the beautiful Columbia Gorge Hotel. The setting and landscaping overlooking the river are gorgeous. We stayed in a River view room with a stunning view. The hotel makes you feel like you are stepping back to the 20's. Rick and the staff were exceptional providing suggestions of where to go sightseeing, as well as,dining ideas.

A gem on the Columbia River - felt like we were in Europe. A staff committed to each guest's experience and making it memorable, our service from Thomas and his front desk team, as well as servers (we had 2 meals) was excellent and attentive to our every wish. Our corner room was truly a room with a view, overlooking...

Grand old hotel located on the Columbia River in Hood River, OR. It is located just off the Interstate Hwy with a view of Washington State and the Columbia River. Things haven't changed much over the last 100 years here. Enjoy a glimpse into the ages and spend a couple of nights here. Great, romantic and peaceful environment.

This hotel offers something different from faceless chains and motels. The building itself is beautiful - a sight in itself. The gardens and views of the river are spectacular. The hotel itself is charming with a lovely lounge area with happy hour wine tasting each evening. There is an old elevator that you must travel in when you are there....

You wonder, sometimes, about hotels on the historic register, but CGH more than meets expectations. The staff are personable and the service is excellent. The hotel is conveniently located near to the historic Columbia River Gorge highway 30 and Interstate 84. You are in reasonable driving distance of Multnomah Fall. There is ample parking, even when there are weddings on...

If you love old hotels with yesteryear charm--as we do--you should love the Columbia Gorge Hotel. We were first charmed by the classic Spanish style as we drove into the hotel courtyard. This is the fourth "historic" hotel that we've visited, and by far, our favorite. The views are incredible, of course. But the property itself is absolutely a treat to walk through.
