This vacation spot is a charming house with original artwork throughout the house and gardens. The garden is delightful with various spots for relaxing and socializing. The shared shed is a marvelous game room complete with children's toys, board games, fireplace, and mini fridge. Everything has been thoughtfully planned for a relaxing experience. There was even a dozen fresh eggs...

We stayed at the Hollyhock Cottage beginning of August this year and we loved it. It's very cute cottage with a small garden, lounge chairs at the back, private area for bbq and eating outside. It's a perfect place to stay if you go to the Painted Hills. Only one down thing is that there is an opening at the...

What a charming house! It feels like home! It is big, there are children's books, games, DVDs. The garden is beautiful, a true oasis in Mitchell, the best place to relax after a early visit to the painted desert! We had a blast and did not want to leave!

A trip to the Painted Hills is awesome -- it is only made better by staying here. Barbara and her daughter have created a paradise. It's quiet, calming, comfortable, relaxing and just all around fantastic. We stayed in Sunset Cottage which could house many more than our party of four, but we enjoyed having lots of room. The couple among...

Loved our stay here. Enjoyed the garden and grilled dinner during our three days stay. Equipped with everything we needed including fresh eggs and herbs from the garden. Great location to enjoy the John Day Fossil Beds NM and Painted Hills.

We stayed at the Fish House RV and Vacation Rentals in Day vile Oregon as a base camp for exploring the Painted Hills, about 22 miles away. This location was the best RV experience we have ever had. There are only about 6 full hook-up sites and several cabins that can be rented. Mike, the owner works very hard to...

Three adults stayed in the Sunset Cottage mid-May 2016. Abundance of cheer and charm. You will lack for nothing. Some beds with memory foam toppers; lush down comforters. View of town and canyon from all bedrooms. One bedroom has a free-standing electric fireplace. Wood-burning stove and/or electric heat in main room. I've never seen a place so well-stocked. Loads of...

Absolutely loved staying here...an oasis in the middle of desert Oregon. Barb and family make you feel right at home. Kitchen is stocked with every imaginable item you could need to cook good meals. They provide farm-fresh eggs and tomatoes from their garden and you are free to use their herb garden. Beds are extremely comfortable! The decor is eclectic...

If you're headed to the Painted Hills and wonder where to stay, look no further. There are three lovely cottages nestled in shady gardens on the hill above the tiny town of Mitchell, which is very close to one of the main Painted Hill sites. We stayed in the Hollyhock. It had everything and more. It was quiet, provided all...

We booked the Hollyhock cottage for 2 days and loved the location and the cottage. Even though it was 90-100+ degrees, the AC certainly helped and was welcomed! The cottage is completely closed in by gardens so its like you have your own private green space in the prairie-like landscape of Mitchell. My little ones loved it. The cottage was...
