Elizabeth Oceanfront Suites garners high marks for its cleanliness, with guests frequently commending the spotless rooms and well-kept facilities. The hotel's atmosphere is often described as cozy, enhanced by stunning ocean views and heartwarming extras like evening chowder and cookies. Service at the hotel is a standout, with many travelers appreciating the staff's warm and professional approach.
Its prime location is just a stone's throw from Nye Beach and local attractions, adding to its charm. While the amenities, including fireplaces and a complimentary breakfast, are a hit, some guests feel the value is diminished by the high cost and ongoing renovations.

Detailed Reviews
This place does deliver a balcony with a stunning ocean view. The building is perched atop a cliff above a sandy beach and all rooms have a large balcony. It is about 3 blocks from the edge of the Nye Beach area which is a nice place to be when staying in Newport. There is parking within the lower part of the building which is nice for keeping the salty mist off your car. It is basically a very large motel on the beach with covered parking. It is not a resort hotel. There is no restaurant or lounge on the property. Free breakfast is very minimal and we totally disregarded it. Friendly staff.

This was my third time staying here. All rooms have a balcony that overlooks the ocean and is in a great location for dining. A day trip to the aquarium with my daughter and granddaughter turned into a "let's spend the night" trip. They were very accommodating allowing us in a little early for my granddaughter to nap. Covid restrictions meant eliminating their buffet breakfast and instead offering yogurt, packaged muffins and danish, oranges, granola bars and bottled water. It's a restriction I get it, but the difference in quality isn't reflected in the price of the stay.
The little fir pit area is closed too, although the fire pits are burning 24x7. Sadly my granddaughter could look down and see this and wasn't so happy we couldn't go down there. They should consider saving the expense of burning the propane away and save customers from the task of trying to explain to a three year old why you can't go down there. There is no option to turn off the pilot light on the gas fireplace so even with the slider wide open and the ceiling fan on the room was on the warm side.

The rooms are very nice and having a little outside "patio" where two people can actually sit comfortably and watch the sunset is fabulous. The lower level, sheltered fire pit area on the ocean side is terrific. I also very much appreciate and enjoy the hot chowder served at 5 pm and excellent cookies (still warm from the oven) available at 8 pm add up to an exceptional value. Breakfast has always been more than adequate and makes for a great start for the day on the coast. Ten minute walk to Nye Beach with plenty of choices for eating out and shopping. This is always my first choice when thinking about a stay in Newport.

We paid over $420 to stay on 5/21. We purchased an ocean view room on the corner of the hotel. I was super excited to stay here as years ago I had a fine experience when I was greeted by the front desk person named Rosemary. I visited this hotel several times in years past. It was clear people worked hard to ensure guests had a great experience . I hadn’t visited since COVID. It seems people are operating and doing the bare minimum while charging 4 star prices. The gym is closed, pool is closed, the coffee maker was broken, you can’t use a chrome cast in your room, there was seagull poop all over the “ocean view” corner window and worst off...housekeeping left a dirty bath towel in the bathroom that I was required to remove from the room myself. Happy birthday to me! The front desk has a framed signed asking people to be kind to staff. This is a fair request. However, if you’re taking the time and energy to make a sign, print and frame in a nice beach aged wood- please be kind and hire people to wash your windows, kindly make time to test coffee machines and double check your rooms are COVID safe with no dirty wet towels left behind. Perhaps consider verbally asking people if they’re aware your pool is closed when they make a reservation by phone given other hotels have open pools in your county. I’m thankful this hotel let us leave for our second night, disappointed they didn’t offer a discount for our first night’s terrible experience. In addition they were rude about us “checking out late” and not apologetic or willing to make it up with anything other than a 15% discount for a 2nd night of a terrible experience. If you want a lovely experience-do more research and ask more questions. Lesson learned.

Our stay was okay. The room wasn’t spotless which I expected with Covid. They could have communicated better that if you’re staying two nights, your room will not be cleaned and you need to take out your own trash, request fresh towels, refill of coffee etc. It would make more sense if there was a rate decrease since the typical services are not currently being performed. It was nice to have the fireplace and hear the ocean but just a bit disappointing compared to previous stays.

I stayed in Elizabeth Ocean front suite Newport, OR from July 26th to July 28th 2020, Truly I never had that bad experience in my entire life. I stayed with family, 2 kids 6 and 4 years old. Front office gave first floor room. Main issue was on summer of 100 degree F, there is no AC and Fan was not working, Room was not clean and full of dust. I found dog hair every where in the couch and dust was really bad. We tried our best to ask for help but none of them from front office and Manager help us. Asked for a room change with Fan working and more cleaner but they declined to do it and asked me that because it is a third party booking check with your travel agent for refund or any assistance you needed. We stayed 2 nights and paid $406, i am pretty sure anyone can find a better choice of hotel in this area. After some times they brought 2 box fan very dirty again full of Cobbwebs and we run those fan and passed next 2 days without asking anything because if I ask for a solution they just give the answer we can't help with anything else except providing the box fan further more check with your booking agent. I am not sure didn't I paid this hotel to stay? It's really sorry to see how they treated us in the hotel like they are giving a free stay over there, 0 customer service is provided. Dirty hot room for family. I have photos and videos, I will upload those too for your reference. It's spoiled our whole vacation days. Please anyone looking to book this hotel just go and check before you pay for this horrible experience.

First off, I come to Newport often enough that I have my preferred place to stay for ocean view rooms. Well that preference is now the Elizabeth Oceanfront suites (Formerly Elizabeth Street Inn).
Unlike the resort I would typically use down the road, every from here has the full ocean view (the resort had some ground level room with only a partial view). Also all hallways are indoors and are more secured as a result.
While the Elizabeth is still going through renovations (only during off season), they do appear to be working hard to update and keep things nice, clean, and working.
Each night chowder at 5PM (while it lasts) and then cookies at 7PM, and for now, a grab and go breakfast in the morning (work in progress).
Rooms are have an amazing ocean view and some have gas fireplaces (on a timer). Room was clean and comfortable, but due to bed platform may be a bit high for some. Some of the room furniture does appear to pre-date the changeover into an Ascend collection hotel, and may look out feel a little dated, but from what we saw it was still kept up and maintained. Fridge and microwave in the rooms, as well as a hotel style Keurig machine
Chairs and table on the outside deck are perfect for sitting and watching the waves. Other reviews mention no screen, ours had a fully operational screen door.
Branding inside still shows former branding, but it provides charm.
Staff was all woderful from the desk staff to the maintenance workers.
Pool and hot tub were great, and were right next to outdoor sandy seating area with outdoor gas fireplaces and string lights. The seating area is protected by glass panels on the sides. It would be nice if those lights were turned off after the area closes. Workout room is small but functional featuring Precor equipment and a spin bike.
Parking lot ramps are a bit steep so take them VERY slow, and from the upper lot a great view. Check in and out super quick and easy.
Note: If you are tall watch yourself under the ceiling fan.
My only minor complaints/concerns
1. Lightbulbs were mismatched (Some CFL, some LED)
2. Some furniture was dated and starting to look out off place with the newer stuff in the room.
3. Lack of better breakfast
4. And 1 night a distinct smell of a now legalized substance being smoked near enough to have smell overwhelm me on the balcony. (The smell of which makes me quite ill)
Overall a wonderful time at the beach at a great facility, that we certainly will return to. Elizabeth Oceanfront Suites, you've won me over from my previous mainstay in town (that's just down the road).

We decided to try this new location after the hotel we usually go to raised their prices through the roof. Glad we did. This definitely our new place to stay in Newport. The rooms are being refinished over the summer. The room we stayed in was very large, had two queen beds and a sitting area with a sofa, desk and chair. The room was very well appointed and everything was new and/or freshly painted. The gas fireplace was great. We slept every night with the door to the balcony open so we could hear the surf and had the fireplace going at least when we went to sleep. Views from the room were great. Access to the beach was less than a half a block. The beach in the area is very uncrowded. The view from the room was phenominal. They have two parking areas. Use the one in the basement. It is less crowded and is protected from the weather. They serve a salmon chowder and cookies in the evening. It was good enough that we could have just stayed in and eaten in our room instead of going out to dinner. Two items to be aware of - the wifi was sketchy at times in our room. Currently they do not have a breakfast buffet up and running. Having said that, they still manage to produce and edible breakfast selection that you can pick up in the lobby and take back to your room. We ate breakfast there everyday. Offerings included breakfast burritos, pastries/muffins, fruit, milk, coffee, cereal, etc. Very very reasonably priced for what we got.

Not sure. Never made it to the fire pit. Best to call the front desk
We stayed on the top floor - the 4th, which was a king suite w fireplace. I don’t recall a jacuzzi in suite.
There is an indoor pool/jacuzzi on main level above beach and adjacent to fire pits.
Yes the hotel is nice but due for renovations. It is right on the beach and the location is fab.
Not when I was just there December 9-11 2020- call the hotel for updates. I highly doubt they’ve changed anything yet with Covid cases still on the rise here in Oregon- also, bring extra blankets since they don’t put the usual extra one in the closet. It was a beautiful hotel- great beach- great town
We stayed there a couple weeks ago. 11/8/20-11/10/20. The hotel all common areas were closed (pool, fire pits and fitness room). the breakfast was just a continental (all cold food and to-go).
