The hotel and staff were amazing. Nothing fancy but perfect location to walk down to shore for a beach bonfire and smores. Amazing ocean views with patio and sliding door. Nice staff and the most relaxing hotel on my week long trip.
This place has fantastic views, and a great location just off the 101. However, the rooms are dirty and in need of remodeling. Pet friendly rooms WITH carpet! Yuck. I walked around in my socks for a few minutes, and they were black underneath.
We stayed at the Whaler Inn for only one night. It was older, but very clean and comfortable. We asked for a early check-in and was given it. I would very much stay there again. The view of the ocean is great and beach access...More
we always stop here on our annual trek south. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and the views are stunning. Beds are comfortable. They are pet friendly. The price is very reasonable for such a great location within walking distance of a great bakery/coffee and...More
November is a quiet time to visit. The Whaler is conveniently located by the ocean and the historical district. It's a Monday evening not many guests which makes it peaceful for us. The fireplace makes the room cozy and the bed comfy.

No we were not able to hear the ocean from the room. Access to the beach is not difficult. This hotel is not directly on the beach, but just across the road from the beach. Cross the street and there is a walkway; it is paved with hand rails and benches to sit down along the way, but it is steep. The ocean is a pretty good walk through the sand, maybe 150 yards, so that may be more challenging to get to the water. Hope this is helpful.
