Ask for a water view of the Coos River. You can spot seals, water birds, and lots of boats. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. While during the Pandemic there is no housekeeping, you can always get extra towels and soap etc with just a phone call. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful and the lobby provides fresh water and coffee. There are always extra masks if you forget and hand sanitizer. The gift shop is also first rate. The Hotel Director of Operations, Suzann Anaya is always helpful. We visit about 5 times a year and highly recommend it for a Fun Getaway!!

We were on the coast for several days celebrating my wife's birthday, and were lucky enough to be able to stay again at the Mill Casino Hotel. The stay was just great, as we expected. The hotel staff - the entirety of the staff - were courteous, easy to work with, all masked, continually wiping down surfaces, and still taking COVID seriously. We appreciated the time and care they took to keep their guests safe. Special thanks to Suzann Anaya for arranging the stay in a newly renovated suite on the Bay side of the hotel, and to housekeeping for their attentiveness to our needs. Our thanks all around, once again.

Absolutely best hotel in the area. Very clean. Very updated. Cute themes. Great staff. Convenient restaurants, bars, gift shop, gambling, etc down stairs. I stayed in the corner suite and let me tell you these rooms are so fun. They're like mini apartments. They have a kitchen, living room, separate bedroom, and everything with a great view. I've stayed in a couple other rooms recently too that were normal size and they're all great. If you need a hotel in the area I would always choose to stay here if you can.

The Mill Casino Hotel is probably the most expensive accommodation in the Coos Bay/North Bend area. I have stayed here once before and found it more acceptable than the BW down the road. I don’t gamble so access to the gaming is not a draw. On site food adds to the reasons you might choose to stay here. The room, King Bed with Bay view was the most expensive room available, was nice and the property in general is in good shape and relatively attractive. Where it missed-the-mark come in 2 categories, facility design or missing items attributed to the ongoing pandemic. The driveway is very confusing and has many opportunities to damage your automobile. You also might get grumped at for driving at any speed above a walk, yet there are no signs to indicate what is expected. The parking area for the hotel is a bit serpentine in nature and if the hotel is busy you might find you’re parking some distance from the entrance. I have not seen any parking lot security so take everything of value out of your car and your catalytic converter has anti theft measures in place. As you enter the hotel lobby you’ll be met by young women wanting to scan your drivers license (why?). The lobby was devoid of guests. You’ll be charged $25 per day damage deposit which is subject to being refunded to your bank card. They do not accept cash for any accommodation related transactions. The lobby is nice and has an attractive seating area beckoning you. I was disappointed of being given a ground floor room because having a room with a view becomes moot as I prefer the privacy afforded by being on a floor other than a ground level. This is doubly true here as there is a rather large pedestrian walkways where people can look into your room. If there was a door to access this walkway might have made me feel better about having an expensive room but unable to make use of the amenity which made it more expensive. The room was nice. Lots of pillows on the bed a large bathroom with only a shower. This was a bit of a disappointment. The room lacks what I will call general lighting like wall sconces that you can turn on upon entering and gives some bright light in the room. There were a few cobwebs I spied. There was a little printed card telling you that there would be no daily maid service and if you needed anything you had to notify the front desk. Because of this you’re expected to reuse your towels. No maid and reusing your towel are normal for me as I don’t like people in my rooms where I am staying. What was problematic were the tiny garbage pails and the lack of sufficient hooks or bars to hang your towels to dry are absent. The shower was nice and had good water pressure but only had one little shelf to put your soap and shampoo. If you’re short, you’d have difficulty using the little shelf. Gone are the little plastic bottles of shampoo and conditioner replaced by paper based containers boasting them to be recyclable (not) and environmentally responsible (umm, not really). If they want to be responsible environmentally they would use wall mounted dispensers which are filled. Many hotel chains are moving to this type of environmentally responsible dispensing of soaps, bath gels… There is no coffee maker in the room and while the bedside radio has extra plugs for plugging in your chargers or CPAP but lacks any USB ports which have become common in most large chain hotels. The pool and spa were closed because of “the ongoing pandemic” was disappointing. The property used the guise of the ongoing pandemic for the lack of services or expected amenities at a “higher end” hotel which the Mill Casino Hotel. Many hotels have their pools open but have special rules in place so pools, exercise room can be used just like many similar public and private entities. In the end it was a clean room located in an environment which would be attractive to some. For me, being here on work, it’s a bed and bathroom. The scanning of your drivers license seems a bit invasive and I can only think it is used to identify banned individuals from gambling or staying here but it is data being collected for some unclear reason. Because of what seems to be lacking, it’s not much to write home about.

Dear Gwylliam, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review about your most recent visit to The Mill Casino Hotel. I am sorry to read about some of your disappointment in our accommodations. Please allow me to clear up the misunderstanding about our rooms and processes. Our parking lot is monitored 24 hours a day by camera, and also has 24 hour security presence. The hotel parking lot is a safe and secure place to leave your vehicle. In an effort to keep our guests and employees safe, we follow current CDC recommendations and Covid 19 protocol. This includes scanning ID’s so that we are prepared for contact tracing, offering complimentary coffee in the lobby, rather than the rooms, pausing on housekeeping stayover service, and keeping our pool and hot tubs closed until it is safe to reopen them. I am sorry to read that you were not able to locate the USB plugs. The recently remodeled room that you occupied has 5 USB ports conveniently located on the top of your alarm clock and on the base of every lamp in your room including the nightstands and desk. Regarding the shampoo, we considered all ecological options, and found that the Bee Kind sustainable packing fit our value system. I am sorry for the confusion regarding the incidental hold on your credit card. This is not a daily charge, and is a typical practice for hotels. It sounds like this may not have been properly explained to you at check in. In summary, I wish we could have assisted you and cleared up some of this confusion while you were here. I hope that you’ll reconsider staying with us on your next visit to our area. If you stay with us again, please ask for me at check in, I’d love to show you around our property. Sincere regards, Suzann Anaya Director of Lodging Operations

This room was over $300 a night, the stay was mediocre at best. I did enjoy our waterfront view. The hotel seemed to have proper covid-19 precautions in place. Parking sucked on 2nd day/night. I did not like the bathtub, they put us in a handicap room.

Dear colettea342, Thank you for choosing The Mill Casino Hotel for your recent visit to the Oregon Coast. Our team prides themselves on keeping our rooms spotless and safe. I am glad to read that you were pleased with our Covid-19 precautions and the beautiful waterfront view from your room. Waterfront rooms on the coast can be expensive this time of the year. We offer some fabulous discounts if you can visit mid-week or off-peak season. Many people do not realize that autumn is a perfect time to visit the coast, with plenty of sunshine to spare! Please consider another visit, and let the front desk know that you prefer a room with a shower, I’m sure they will be able to accommodate you! Warmest regards, Suzann Anaya Director of Lodging Operations
