Stayed here with the family and had a wonderful time! We have two small kids so all the little extras offered here were excellent and made our stay special. They have tennis/basketball courts with equipment, a playground, a duck pond, a game room, movies /games/ books to check out at the lobby, and beautiful walking trails that can take you right to Devil’s Punchbowl. The pool is outdoors, it’s heated, has an in-pool hot tub as well as a separate adults only hot tub, changing rooms, a sauna and a really great view! We didn’t expect to enjoy the pool in the middle of January but it was a highlight. The water was so warm and the sunset while swimming was perfect! You have to take stairs down to the beach and there are a lot of them but it’s worth it. I currently have a broken leg and am in a walking boot and was able to do them just fine! The beach below is a protected area with lots of tide pools filled with all sorts of fun stuff for the kids to check out and so many seals hanging out on the rocks which was cool! Our room was a panoramic view, two queen beds, a kitchen, a wood fireplace, two bathrooms, and a balcony with a views of the cliffs and ocean. It was great drinking coffee out on the balcony and watching the waves, playing board games by the wood burning fireplace (they provide one duralog, but have more for purchase) and cooking in the kitchen. The room is a little out dated decor wise but that’s pretty common along the coast and doesn’t bother me. It was very clean, well stocked with everything we needed, and spacious. We will absolutely be back again!

This hotel is a wonderful place to relax next to a fireplace and watch the crashing surf during a winter storm. The bed was very comfortable even though it was a Murphy bed. I wish they'd face the sofa toward the window so one could have a better view of the ocean surf. Nice kitchen and bath set-up. The place is slightly "dated", but that absolutely does not matter because the room is very comfortable and in a gorgeous setting with a spectacular view perched above the beach. I did not, however, like two things: the need to take a shuttle to and from the parking lot near reception up above, and the fact that the restaurant isn't open for breakfast and is only take-out at this time. And, you walk down or take a shuttle to/from the take-out point. Didn't have cell service to call my order in. Not their fault though. The food was excellent by the way. Special Note: try not to get in a wreck on highway 101 while attempting to find the hotel entrance road up above. I never saw a sign.

We had a studio lock-off timeshare unit with a partial kitchen. This was no surprise to us as clearly indicated when we made the RCI exchange. Although I have to say it’s one of the smallest studios we’ve ever exchanged into. No kitchen sink…had to do dishes in the bathroom sink. It was clean although somewhat shabby. It had a small microwave, very small toaster oven, a mini refrigerator and very few kitchen amenities. We experienced none of the noise problems other reviewers reported. It was a little odd that you have to depend on bell staff to cart your luggage to your unit because you can’t get anywhere close with your car, they were responsive and courteous and very efficient. We had a partial view of the ocean while other units obviously had better views. The on-site restaurant was open on a reduced schedule for takeout only, but we didn’t try it. There are many good options for good dining in Newport and Lincoln City.

I stayed in a loft unit in building J with an ocean view for two nights. The property is beautiful. It's very secluded and has lots of places to walk including a stretch of beach between the property and the Devil's punch bowl that feels like a private beach. It is a long walk from parking lot to rooms (if you are carrying heavy things, so make use of the cart service). But it was two days of perfect quiet and nature walks. I did not use the restaurant, but the resort is a drive to Depoe Bay or Newport (10-15 minute). I know units vary, but the one I was in was immaculate and well stocked for anything you might need in the kitchen. I would absolutely stay here again.

Although the grounds and location are great for this property, we stayed in one of the 1 bedroom timeshare units and was appalled by the lack of maintenance and cleanliness. I knew these were somewhat dated, however, it didn't look like anything had been done since 1980 in ours in both updating and maintenance. When you cannot plug in your toothbrush because the one plug in the bathroom does not work, light bulbs out throughout, carpeting pulled up, pictures in their frames falling down, toilet paper and towel racks coming off the wall. hand print on the mirror, clocks not set to proper time, BBQ's not functioning, rodent droppings on outdoor balcony chairs/table, horrible bath towels, I can go on. After telling the staff of our issues, they did have someone fix some of the problems although they informed us that it was not their responsibility. They did not maintain the timeshare units. I have traded timeshares and stayed in many over the years and this was a high season trade, but nothing like this. We cut our week short by 2 days since it really was not a pleasant stay. Photos of the units online are deceiving even for for the hotel/inn units, beware. Very disappointed. We will enjoy our anniversary at home.
