Incredible location, dogs AND upscale?!! Seriously? Yes!!!! Check, check, check!! We are traveling from the eastern coastline of Connecticut & Rhode Island (Farmington/Newport) to the coastline of California (Santa Monica) and back. We packed up our 2 dogs (medium & large), visited a few friends, and cast our fate to the wind ."To look for America" as Simon and Garfunkel once said. We chose our hotels on the way taking the high road through NY, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Washington (and all states in between) then headed south through Oregon. Badlands, Yellowstone, Devil's Tower, etc., etc..Finding nicer accommodations with a large dog in your pack is extremely challenging to say the least. Enter The Headlands in Oregon. Could this hotel be everything it looks like on the internet? Is it really as dog friendly as they say? Even to an Anatolian Shepherd sized dog? OK, we were game. We started smiling as we walked through the front door and looked across through the windows to the view. Ahhhhh..... Reception, super friendly! The view from our room was the same as the lobby, bar and restaurant. We had an oceanfront view with chairs on the balcony to soak in the sunset. The beach, wide, gorgeous and spotless. The room itself, well appointed, totally comfortable. A nice, deep tub along side the glass shower. Dog bowls, dog beds, dog treats in the room. The restaurant menu, delicious. The service wonderfully attentive and accommodating, They even have booths in the restaurant where you can sit and eat with your dogs next to you! Who does that?!?! Our reservation was for one night but we stayed for three in order to take advantage of the spa. What a welcomed treat on our long journey! Headlands, you are a gem! You are truly honest in your advertising and deliver what you are promising. In our opinion that has tremendous value. Thank you. We are grateful for what you have created in the atmosphere of your hotel. We were going to take the low road back to the east coast but that may change now. You have set a high bar for hotels that accept people with their dogs, any size dog. We love it! Now, having said all of that, it can't all be perfect. If we had one minuscule suggestion it would be to try having a larger sized bed available for a larger sized dog. Still, all curled up but hanging loose, Shansi slept like a baby with the sounds of the ocean in her dreams. Ahhhhh............…

Hotel's Favourite
The furnishings, the views, the service, the surrounding Cape Kiwanda area, the dog friendliness, the food, I could go on and on. This place is true luxury on the Oregon Coast. We were home for 45 minutes before booking our next stay. We can’t wait to go back.

Amazing location right above the beach with a fantastic ocean view, large comfortable room with super comfy bed & pillows, friendly staff, quiet (except for rooms 101 & 102 near the hot tub jet pump; they let us switch rooms because it was so loud when running). Great bar & restaurant onsite where we had drinks and dinner. Really there was only one thing that was not top notch considering the high room price, which was that although the room service breakfast was tasty and hot, it was served with everything covered with plastic wrap and they didn’t bring it into the room. Made sense during covid restrictions but should be discontinued.

Very comfortable bed in a nice room with a great view. However, apparently the bathroom was designed to enable the shower taker to see the view, unfortunately (imo) giving anyone in the room a view of the shower taker. It would be so easy to add a curtain that could be drawn if desired.

Have been to Pacific City before but this was our first trip to Headlands and we ate already thinking about another trip back. Not only was the room and spa and restaurant top notch but the variety of experiences we were able to book directly through the resort made the trip all the more memorable. Kyle, John, Daniel, Shelli were outstanding, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Couldn't ask for better service.

Great place to stay but they need to replace the mattress in the room we stayed in. It was flat. Mattresses are not what they used to be. Without box spring the foam mattresses don’t bounce back. Service was wonderful, restaurant is a great place to eat. The ocean view was amazing.

You couldn’t ask for a better plan to unwind and get away from the city. The hotel is pure luxury and the rooms are breathtaking. We loved being next to Pelican Brewing and being able to walk around the beach at sunset. The amenities are lovely and the little snack bar is a great treat! We can’t wait to come back!

I stayed three nights at this hotel. It was higher than my usual budget but worth every penny. I am in the middle of a DIVORCE from a stay-at-home ALCOHOLIC and am staying at various hotels until the divorce ends. The DIVORCE date is set to 6/30/2023. So I release the first of the new James Bond books on July 1st 2023. The new James Bond books release on Apple and Amazon. The location is superb and the ocean views are breathtaking. I took my service dog out for lots of walks and we really enjoyed our stay there. Whilst driving along the coast I had my first ever accident when there was a massive hailstorm. Following up, the folks who stopped over and also the police (unlike California police) were wonderful and very helpful. One day, I hope to return to this hotel and stay there for a week. That is how good this hotel is! Highly recommended.…

Great views. High end upgrades in room. Great spa. Right on beach and 250 ft high massive dune. Free level 2 EV chargers. Modern. Fairly new. A little pricey. Friendly and helpful staff. Great pub & coffee shop next door at half price the dining room in hotel.
