We had the garden room, which we would have enjoyed more if not rainy for two days but certainly not their fault! The balcony was lovely and would have been great to enjoy in morning or evening if weather permitted. The bed was VERY comfy, if high with all the layers/toppers. If you're shorter than 5'3" you may need a...

I apologize for not finishing this review - started it when I got back last August. However, I still would like to share my experience in this lovely historical home. There was just a special feeling walking around the house, enjoying the decor, the exquisite stained glass, the beautiful grand piano! I can imagine how special it was to live...

Thank you for making our day... It's always so wonderful to look in my email and see a lovely TripAdvisor review! Even having stayed in our smallest and coziest room, the Blarney! Big hugs and we look forward to seeing you in August! But book early before we fill up!

My husband and I stayed two nights at Portland's White House and had a wonderful time. The house was filled with an incredible collection of antiques. It was like having a sleepover in a museum. Bronzes, sculptures, paintings, furniture and porcelains are some of the highlights. Everything was tastefully put together. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. We...

Thank you for such a lovely description of Portland's White House Inn. The Bread Pudding French Toast is certainly one of our signature dishes and Lanning will spend an entire day making several batches of it. So yummy! Thank you again for taking the time to express your thoughts of your stay... we appreciate you and happy you found us...

Staying in an historic mansion in this charming Portland neighborhood took us back in time in all the best ways. From the enormous welcoming foyer to a huge feather bed, Portland's White House is the perfect place to take a deep breath. The dining room is massive and gorgeous....if walls could talk! Our breakfast was delicious and very substantial. We...

This is truly a gem of a bed and breakfast. Nestled in an adorable residential neighborhood in Portland, Portland's Whitehouse is a beautiful and well appointed inn. Rather than the sometimes musty and passed over feel that some older B&Bs can have, Whitehouse is meticulously cared for, immaculately clean and intricately decorated with personal items from the owner's family. It...

Our group of four women, celebrating a milestone birthday for one member of our group, had a fabulous time at the White House. My husband and I stayed in Lanning and Myra's Bed and Breakfast in May 2015, where we quickly became raving fans of this unique place(see my May 13, 2015 review). When we were planning this girls trip,...

What a beautiful home! My daughter and I shared a king bedroom in the Baron's room for two nights, and we enjoyed a lovely stay. Upstairs, the Baron's room provided lots of light from the windows, a large bathroom with lovely products, a comfortable bed, and very little noise from the house! The breakfasts of bread pudding French toast one...

It's been years since we have stayed here and I don't have any idea why we haven't been back sooner..... As soon as you arrive in your vintage room, you are greeted by home made COOKIES, AND CHOCOLATE'S from Moonstuck, how great is that? I didn't need to indulge, but I the temptation just overcame me, ha ha.... We only...

I really enjoyed my home away from home stay with the Portland Whitehouse. It is probably the last b&b that hasn't changed hands in the last 20 years. The staff is really nice, friendly and helpful, and try hard to make one comfortable and feel at home. I found myself imagining myself to be more wealthy and staying there on...

Beautiful property. We had the Rose Room, spacious, pretty, comfortable bed. Chocolates and cookies! Food delicious. Quiet, warm, elegantly appointed B&B, not stuffy nor cheesy. Everyone who worked there was terrific. Myra was lovely! Hope to return.
