Their junior suite was very comfortable for our family of 3, at a great price. We had a very comfortable bedroom, while our son slept on a pullout sofa in living room. Room was on a corner, so we could all enjoy views of Pearl district in day, but noise not a problem at night. 5 minute walk to max...

Thank you so much for your review. We feel extremely fortunate to be located just a block and a half from Powell's Bookstore. It's quite an experience for everyone in the family. Portland is a very walkable city which allows our visitors to see the unique shops, brewpubs, food carts and fine dining that we have become known for. I...

The Mark Spencer Hotel is the pearl of the Pearl District in Portland. We loved our stay there. The hotel is centrally located that we were able to walk anywhere we wanted to. If we got tired the street car station was close by. The hotel has wonderful amenities such as afternoon tea and a wine tasting. The room was...

Thank you for all the nice comments! They will be shared with my entire staff. I'm so happy you were able to join us for tea and cookies. The smell of fresh baked cookies always brings our guests into the library for a taste or two - then to linger awhile visiting with other guests as we prepare for our...

This hotel was a great find and one we will definitely return to. There was no coffee in the room and the shower could use a little work, which is the reason from my 4 out of 5 rating. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and had nice TVs, and you can't get a better location....

Thank you for your review. I hope you were able to sample our coffee in the lobby. This fabulous machine makes cappuccinos, lattes, mochas and other yummy coffee drinks 24/7. We feature a local Portland coffee roaster which produces a very smooth cup of your favorite coffee beverage. Also, we are currently renovating our guestrooms, which will take care of...

This is a nice older hotel right in the middle of Portland and close to everything. You can stay here and explore Portland either by walking or by taking the convenient, free public transportation located just a few blocks away. We had a nice suite with a kitchenette, which was great since we like being able to prep our own...

Thank you so much for your kind words and endorsement. We believe we have the best location in town with everything you mentioned right outside our door - restaurants, shopping, transportation, museums and a festival or two! If you drive, you can easily park your car in our garage for only $18/night and explore the city on foot. Many guests...

This hotel is in the process of renovating rooms and public spaces. But for the price and location even the unrenovated rooms are competitive. I hope it does not become too expensive, this was my third stay over the years. Very efficient and friendly staff. Leave your car at home (though there is parking), as walking and public transport are...

Wow - this was your third visit! I would like to thank you for each and every time you allowed us to be your host. We appreciate every guest who walks through our doors and feel especially grateful to those who keep returning. As our renovations progress, I'm sure you're able to see the changes over the past year. I...

This hotel is very well located in the heart of Portland with easy walking distance to great shops and restaurants. Rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast included is substantial enough and the cookies and tea in the afternoon is nice. Staff are attentive and helpful.

Thank you for your review - we look forward to hearing from our guests. With so many options for dining and shopping within a 2-block radius, I hope you were able to find a few favorites! We stayed here for a girls weekend in September. Centrally located with easy access to light rail. They have a complimentary wine tasting every night with appies which was very welcome after a day of sightseeing or shopping. Also, the continental breakfast was far better than most with a fabulous coffee/espresso machine which we made very good use of. Rooms...

Thank you for allowing us to host your girls weekend! Shopping is always an "event" in Portland with major department stores featuring all the current fashion, eclectic corner shops, shops in alleyways, pop-up shops, entire streets dedicated to promoting small shops and one of the largest booksellers in the world - Powell's Book Store. All tax free! I hope you...

The Mark Spencer was our last stop on our week-long vacation to Portland and the coast. It was the only hotel we stayed at, spending the rest of our time at B&B's and Inns. So it may be unfair to compare, but it was my least favorite place. The staff was very accommodating. The room we were originally given was...

Thank you for choosing us as your final vacation stop. I'm always happy to hear when our guests have joined us for our complimentary wine reception. The Mark Spencer has a few things going for it. It is located just outside the Pearl District close to everything. The Staff was helpful and attentive and the bed was very comfortable. I stayed at this hotel with my husband for one night. The staff were helpful, our room was clean and a decent size but we overlooked a roof top.
