I had to bleach the shower a couple times before I could shower.very nosy in fact the minute someone pulls in their not even given a chance to get out of their car and their at their window questioning them.and if anyone comes inside your room they charge you 10 dollars per person.the owners/managers argue with you about everything.and when your gone or whenever they just walk in your room.i would sleep under a tree before I would go there again

We stayed one night on the last night of our two week trip from Washington through the Grand Canyon and back. Just what we were looking for! Quiet place with two comfortable beds. Clean room, good wi-fi and great TV with a station identifier card on the dresser. The remote had a guide feature. We paid $79 for three adults. They had no problem with our service dogs. The owner lady was super nice, friendly and recommended places to eat and visit. We went up the hwy to the Safeway and got our dinner from the deli there. That was great, cooked whole chicken for $5.00. We would absolutely stay there again. Nothing super fancy, just a good honest classic motel. Beautiful setting, the only drawback was the train that runs a couple blocks away and honks as they go through town. The parking is covered, and you park in front of your room. The grounds were very well maintained, a nice grassy area to sit outside and relax.

Shady Oaks is a mid-1940s motel that is entirely in keeping with its gorgeous rural setting along Old Highway 99 just a few miles south of Roseburg. Surrounded by beautiful open hill and ranch country and with no visible neighbors, Shady Oaks is close to food & fuel but in an idyllic, quiet valley. The rooms are huge, the beds comfortable, hot water comes quickly from the tap & shower, the plumbing works well, efficiently, & quietly -- and Divya & Sam Patel are friendly, gracioys hosts. For a very modest price, you get a very pleasant stay. Thanks, Sam & Divya!

The cons: the grout in the shower had a lot of mildew, and one of the towels had permanent dirt stains. If you choose to stay here, be prepared to shave in the bedroom because there are no outlets in the bathroom, and bring your own shampoo. The television requires two remote controls and the manager didn't explain how to use them so it was very confusing. He didn't mention that the light switch next to the front door turns off both the stand up lamp AND the television, so it took 10 minutes to find the station we had been watching since there is no channel guide in the room and we couldn't find one on the remotes. There is no overhead lighting and the lamps barely did the job. The bed was uncomfortable. The neighbors came back at about 1:30 a.m. and were very loud, arguing and slamming the door. One of the neighbors had their TV on almost all night. Ice machine still is not working. The pros: there is covered parking for all the rooms. It's the same price whether the room has 1 bed or 2. They do have blackout curtains which is helpful for sleeping in the morning.

If your looking for a great deal, this is the place to stay. First motel I've stayed at and our dog was welcome. Large grassy area for dog walking PLUS, huge grassy area in front with a few lawn chairs to sit and have a happy hour drink while your dog lays on the grass. Yes, this motel is dated and needs an upgrade, if you want 5 stars, stay at the Fairmont and pay for it. If you want a perfectly acceptable motel at a budget price, stay here. Owner lady was superb, very helpful and friendly. I'll definitely stay here again.
