Enjoy your stay in Roseburg!
Was traveling in Oregon in April 2021 and needed to stop for a few days in Roseburg. Quality Inn is usually my first contact for lodging when a local property is available. Although I had a bad experience with this location about 5 years ago I felt it was worthwhile to at least call and check on price and room availability. I called the front desk directly and asked for a room 3 days in the future for a total of 3 nights. The price quoted was within my comfort range and I made the reservation. When I checked in, the person working the front desk was obviously not the person I had made the reservation with and in the process of registering I was told that the price of the room had increased by about 10 dollars for one of the nights. I questioned the rationale behind that and the woman behind the desk told me that rates often varied and that they had changed because my stay included a weekend night. I was pretty sure that they were required to honor the price quote from my initial reservation but I was tired from a day of driving and didn't feel like it was worth the time to argue with her, especially since her version of English was hard for me to understand. I completed the check in and went to my room. It was pretty much what you would expect a 1950's era room to look after undergoing a poor attempt to be updated. This is reflected in the furnishings, the lighting, toilet and bathing facilities and electrical outlets. The room was noisy and the parking lot was noisy. People were sitting out by the pool drinking and being loud until late at night. On one night a Harley rider made three trips in and out of the parking lot beginning with the first one about midnight and the last one about 4 am. Each trip was accompanied by a lot of engine revving. I enjoy the sound of Harley engines but not in the middle of the night when I need to sleep. There was little about the experience that was pleasant. Even coming and going from the property can be a major ordeal. The street directly in front is busy, very busy. If you want to leave there and go into Roseburg it works great. If you want to go any other direction it can be problematic, especially at morning, noon and afternoon high volume traffic times. The final blow came after checkout. I went to the office, told the person I was out of my room, got my receipt and left. Should have reviewed the receipt right there because after I had moved on a couple hundred miles I discovered that the rate increase had been applied to two of the nights, not just one. I called the office to get it corrected but the person answering the phone didn't speak English very clearly so I just hung up. I was pretty sure there was no way I was going to win that battle. Needless to say I will not be staying at the Quality Inn in Roseburg again. Two bad experiences 5 years apart has convinced me that it's not a good place to stop.…
I booked this hotel through a third party site. After reading the reviews on how dirty the rooms were I cancelled the reservation (1 hour tops between booking and cancellation). After my trip ended I was charged a No Show charge because they stated that the reservation wasn't canceled. Instead of being reasonable (as I stayed in another Choice Hotels hotel during those same dates) they are not willing to issue a refund. The third part site states that the cancellation number they received was generated from the hotel and Choice Hotels system. Both Choice Hotels and the local Quality Inn are not accepting responsibility for the cancellation code that is generated from their system. Be mindful and give your business elsewhere.
We took our kids to Roseburg so we could visit wild life safari and stayed here for 2 nights. We booked a suite to make it special for them. When we checked in I gave the guy my ID and debit card and he said he found my reservation then asked to see my American express card that I paid with, I told him that I didn't have one and that's not mine. After 20 minutes of him checking things and assuring me he had us in with the right reservation he told me we had there nicest room. We were in our room unpacking when strangers walked in and claimed it was there room, so my husband went to the office and the guy said he booked the other couple wrong and gave us new keys. Then going to dinner none of our keys worked, we then had to get new ones. We were assured everything was good. At 11pm that night someone started banging on our door and the same guy claimed we needed to come to the office to sort things out. My husband went and finally dealt with someone new, where they told us we were not I the suite we had booked, our address and card had been put on someone else's reservation and in the morning we could move to our real room. This was a huge inconvenience for our trip, going to the office multiple times and then having to switch rooms with 5 kids under 10. And the only thing we were given for our trouble was $40, the difference between the rooms. We were told by the owner that there was nothing they could do for us. And the excuse given for the huge mix up, "oh that guy only works nights" Extremely unprofessional except for the girl in the office that helped us.…
On a one to 10 scale it was a 2. The toilet was backed up beyond the trap so a plunger was no use ( we tried). Wall outlets were so worn out a phone charger would not stay plugged in in any accessible outlet. We unplugged the TV to use its outlet that was not worn out. Cabinet doors were broken, lamp shades were cracked, lamps would not stay plugged in due to worn out wall outlets. Two lamps were missing or burned out. Shower stall wall was cracked and had bare metal screws holding it in place. The beds were nice. Access cards were not programmed correctly and had to get new cards made. Asked for a room with direct access from car to door due to large amount of luggage, so they gave us a room above a retaining wall with a 100ft long railing and no stairs near by.
We arrived after 10 pm to a very welcoming front office staff. Kind costumer care, courteous and helpful. Anticipated everyone possible need. Exceeds expectations. Overall 10/10 would recommend staying here.
