The check-in and out were so easy in the downtown location, and the parking garage was special in the rain. Dinner here was the best in the Northwest, I think. We had a table with a dedication plaque, for a longtime businessman customer who had recently passed, with a view of the chef's plating area and kitchen. The dinner was... More

Very friendly and helpful staff. Dylan was amazing! Restaurant was great. Good wine list. Room was clean but a few things like the AC unit was a bit dated.Parking was a bit of a challenge but overall a good stay.

I stayed in the Grand Hotel for three nights while attending an alumni weekend at Willamette University. It was a most enjoyable experience. My room was spacious and had a wonderful view of the spire of First Methodist Church and the Oregon Capitol Building. Parking under the hotel was free and never a problem. The complimentary hot breakfast was excellent... More

wrichter2015, Thank you very much for the wonderful appraisal of our hotel and the location. We so appreciate the wonderful relationship with Willamette University and our many other very loyal clients, we do wish our hotel was larger for the many people we unfortunately have to turn away during high demand periods like Reunion Weekend and do hope that we... I don't think that there are many luxury hotel options in Salem, so it is what it is. This place is very similar to Embassy Suites - the free continental breakfast, the room had a living room + bedroom, same price points, pool/hot tub area, etc. I did like that the front desk makes cookies in the late afternoon/early evening.... Dear vanillachalk, Thank you for your comments. I'm presuming from your description, you stayed in one of our Suite category rooms. We do market them as an Embassy Suites "style" with the separate living area from the sleeping area. While we can't police heavy walkers, please know that we would intervene if we had rowdy folks inconveniencing other guests. Being... More

The lobby looks nice, but the rooms are outdated, beds are poor quality and the bathroom is below average. The free breakfast seemed like a cattle call. I am not trying to be harsh but unless you choose the Grand for a wedding or because of its location, you can spend less and probably get a better stay at some... More

I have stayed at The Grand Hotel many times since it opened. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. The hotel lobby is beautiful. The hotel is always clean and well maintained. During my recent stay I reserved a King Suite Room. These are large rooms and well furnished. A guest may notice a little bit of road noise... More

We have stayed at this property several times, and the staff are excellent. But, the guest behavior has behavior has continually gone down hill. Now the hotel is noisy and starting to look very worn and rough around the edges. Kids were jumping up and down a banquet in the lobby, the parent and the staff did and said nothing.... More

Dear Steven I, Thank you for the comments, I am going to presume that this most recent visit was on a weekend, we do host 7-8 wedding groups per weekend and the crowd has a very different feel than the weekday business. If there is a tactful way to ask parents to control their children, we would excitedly incorporate it... More

This hotel meets all travel needs in Salem. If you are part of a wedding block or otherwise have to make reservations over the phone, you may have a challenging time- they asked if they could call me back later- an odd experience in 2016. It would be good if they could update their reservations system. The hotel itself is... More

We wanted to stay downtown and the Grand Hotel is in the heart of the Capitol. Close to State Government buildings, restaurants and night life. Hotel has 5 stories, with on site Bentley's Restaurant and Lounge, pool, fitness center and great complimentary hot breakfast and free parking. Friendly staff and attractive large lobby.
