Reviews summary

Cousin's Country Inn stands out for its convenient location, which guests find accessible to transportation and nearby dining options. The service is generally lauded for being warm and responsive, though there have been occasional lapses. While the hotel's atmosphere is described as welcoming, with spacious rooms and a friendly vibe, opinions on the value proposition are divided; some guests consider it a reasonably priced stay, while others feel it falls short.
Room experiences vary, with praises for cleanliness and comfort contrasting with concerns over outdatedness and occasional maintenance issues. The amenities, especially the pet-friendly policy and the on-site restaurant, receive positive remarks, but again, some guests suggest a refresh of the decor is needed.

Detailed Reviews
We have stayed here before and we keep coming back. We enjoy the really nice rooms.
The staff are always so nice. From arrival when we are welcomed with a smile, staff is great. During the stay, when we come grab a coffee and cookies, always a smile. Even when we needed to get new room keys, it is never a problem for staff to quickly get us new keys.

Our stay at Cousins and our meals at Cousin's restaurant were just what was needed at the end of a long vacation. On the way home from a 5 week road trip our new car broke down about 45 minutes east of Portland. We were able to get it to the closest dealership which happened to be right up the road from Cousins. The people at the dealership said that a meal at Cousins Restaurant would be a good way to spend our time while they chucked over our car. The food was great and the atmosphere and friendly staff made it even better.
We then went to the hotel front desk to inquire about getting a room for a few days. We explained our situation, staying the night and possibly two more depending on when we would receive our car back from the Honda dealer.
Our room was not ready so they took our bags since our car would be at the dealer overnight. Once the room was ready they had staff help bring our bags to our room across the parking lot. They took our reservation for three nights but we only ended up staying two.
This turned out to be the best possible place for us to stay given our car issues and being so far from home, we still had over 2,000 miles to go before we were home.
Thanks again Cousins, you have good food and a comfortable bed for a few nights, your staff made it a great stay.

This gem is worth staying in since the hotel and restaurant are a part of the community (not a corporate chain). The location is very easy to find and the rooms are very comfortable and clean. We ate dinner and breakfast and were happy with the food and service.

Room #109 is clean and cozy and the "European" tiled shower was very quaint and roomy. The water was hot, the pressure was great, and the bath towels and washrags were reasonably thick. The king bed and abundant pillows were comfortable and the baseboard heat worked well. The staff is very friendly and courteous and the desk is staffed 24/7. There is little road noise inside the rooms but we were awakened several times in the night by snoring and people moving around in the room above and next door. No breakfast but you get free cookies and coffee and a 20% coupon to the onsite home-style restaurant. The pool is outdoors so unusable 8 months of the year and for exercise you can ask for a free pass to a local gym that is horrible. If you just need a clean room at a reasonable price then this is a quaint choice and much better than a Motel 6. But if you have kids, make sure the pool is open and you aren't counting on a free continental breakfast.

I stayed 2 nights about a week apart. The problem I had was there was a group of people congregated just outside my door sitting in lawn chairs smoking and drinking all evening. They were so close they could almost reach into my room and they looked in my room every time the door was opened. I asked if they worked there and if this area was a smoking and drinking area? they said they didn't work there but they said they are there a lot. It was very creepy. I had to asked one of the people loitering right outside my room to get up off the stairs so I can go up the stairs. They were talking and smoking and drinking on into the evening until my wife finally had to stick her head out the door and run them off. A week later there was again a bunch of people sitting in lawn chairs and sitting on the stairs smoking an drinking right outside the door to our room. When we came in and out of our room we had to squeeze out between the people loitering just outside the door to our room. Evidently this area is a defacto unofficial bar for people to hang out.
I returned my key to the front desk and the smiling clerk asked how my stay was. So I explained the situation regarding how uncomfortable our stay was regarding the people loitering right outside our room smoking, drinking and talking all evening. The person behind the front desk smiled and said that was probably people from the car club. I told her that was not true because I stayed in the motel several days earlier before the car club arrived and the smokers and drinkers congregated in the are just outside of my room on our first visit.
So the clerk seemed to evaluate me as a "problem customer" and told me next time I come to stay they can have me stay in a room in the back building which will be quieter. In effect this is what I was told. The smokers and drinkers who are loitering in that area come first before a paying customer receives adequate service. In other words it seems the policy is to protect the smoking and drinking loiterers from a paying customer by moving the customer away from the smokers and drinkers that congregate just outside of motel rooms. To me it was a rather off-putting experience.
I would think the solution would be to not have smokers and drinkers loitering in that area every night. But the reality is the prime directive of the Country Cousins Inn is to protect the smoking and drinking loiterers instead of providing an adequate experience to the paying customer.

I know they have some.newer rooms but we were definitely in the older section. It was a last minute budget reservation and if you just need a roof over your head for a night in a safe convenient location it's fine. The bed wasn't the worst but definitely needs replaced. Seemed like everything was clean but definitely dated and in need of renovation. I would probably not stay more than one night and only if your just looking for something adequate to get you by.

Our family has been staying at Cousins while visiting family annually for the past 36 years.
Guest room (108) was musty and smelled like a kennel! We saw two large dogs laying on the bed in the room next door and dogs barking from adjacent rooms at all hours. All parking spots were full.
We are sorry to say that after 36 years we will no longer be staying Cousins. Also, we’ve always enjoyed the restaurant but it’s become too expensive. Denny’s next door is a better option.

Hadn't been there for a while, miss the peanuts for appitizers. The French onion soup was very tasty. Chefs salad was fresh crisp romaine lettuce, lots of toppings and served with ample dressing on the side. Spouse had Country fired steak, nice and tender and he loved the roasted veggies. Was not over salted. Waitress Kassie was awesome and provided great service. This is nothing fancy, just good down home food. We shall be back!

An old motel that really needs remodeling. Some parts had been done but the doors and trim were pretty beat up. Relatively new carpet was there but half of the room's carpet was wet - i think from the window a/c. When I called to see if I could get a different room the only thing they had available was on the third floor (there were no elevators) and I could not carry bags up that many stairs so I was stuck with this room. It was very dark so I couldn't see well enough to put on makeup. My chargers fell out of the worn-out outlets, and no other ways were provided for charging phones. The beds were a bit firm.

Everything I wanted and expected. Friendly staff, flexible check out time, quiet, good service, clean and a good restaurant for all three meals of the day. They arranged a private banquet room and served a brunch meal to 35 people and made it easy.

Thank you for your interest in Cousins' Country Inn! Both our pool and our hot tub are outdoors---and though the hot tub is semi-enclosed and open year round; our pool is more exposed and is closed for the winter season--it will reopen next spring when the temperatures stay reliably warm again! Please let us know if you have any additional questions!
Hi msmith296! Thank you for your interest in our property! Yes, we do have accessible rooms! Feel free to call us if you are looking for specific dates, and we'll discuss all of your options!
