We were on a 2 week trip out west. This homeless in a great location in The Dalles. Close to restaurants and sites to see. Breakfast was great and the attendant was friendly and very conscientious out her job. She didn’t even act like it was a job. We would stay here again.

The first impression was good - newish hotel, contemporary decor, clean, very friendly front desk staff, but it went downhill quickly from there. As a frequent HIE guest and road warrior, I was excited to try this hotel but it fell short on two very notable points:
1) In all my years of traveling I have never once experience a breakfast that was completely cleaned out...45 minutes before it was supposed to end. I've had some very good and some poor quality HIE breakfasts over the years, but this....was unbeliveable. Surely they knew they either didn't have enough food, because when I checked in we were told breakfast was 6:30-930 and we came down at 8:45. So a word of warning to future travelers...get down to breakfast at this hotel or you will miss out...if they even have it filled in the first place.
2) The wall-mounted heating/AC unit was great...when it worked. Its one of those new-fangled machines controlled by a sensor on the wall thermostat, so it turns on and off on its own, with little ability to control it or to run a constant fan. This is a supposedly "environmentally friendly" thing, but in reality it's actually a Very Guest Unfriendly move. The freeway is loud, even from rooms further back, and when the fan was running it drowned it out, but since it only worked when it want to, it made both sleeping difficult and the room very stuffy for long periods of time and uncomfortable.
Unfortunately, even though I travel to The Dalles fairly often, I have now crossed this hotel off of the list and won't return.

My room (216) is shaking/vibrating. When we checked in around 7pm it seemed to be a normal room. Got back from dinner at 10pm and it is constantly vibrating like a helicopter during take off. All I want to do is sleep but it is impossible to do given the noise and sensation. I called the front desk and told him my room number but he really didn’t seem interested in helping. First he said it might be from people walking around. I described it as mechanical like sitting on top of a dryer. He said it might be on top of the laundry room. I asked it there is not a limit on the hours when people can use the laundry room. He said there is not. I asked if another room was available and he said they are totally booked. I have a headache from this vibrating room. If you do decide to stay here please be forewarned.

For seniors - Easy access 24/7, very large (and quiet) room, easy to move about. Close to freeway , ample parking areas close to access doors. The local food, and other stores, etc. nearby. Breakfast was a Plus with many little additional features, and layout of room allowed room to sit and relax.

Me and my crew stayed here for an 11 night business trip. Upon returning from work the first night I seen my room wasn't cleaned, I called the front desk and the polite worker told me that they only clean your room every five days??????? I called back the next day to speak with a manager and he told me that it was an IHG policy and not their ow. I stay at Hotels over 200 nights a year and mostly at Holiday Inns and at no other Holiday Inn did I have an issue. Which I have asked every Holiday Inn I have stayed at since and they all told me that was not true. I told the manager that I was paying for a service that I was not receiving and he told me very rudely they would make an exception and clean it more often this time. My employees waited 6 days before they got their rooms cleaned. Totally unacceptable in my eyes, if your paying for a room to be cleaned you shouldn't be made to feel like a jerk for asking to get it done. My company travels to The Dalles all the time and this will be our last stay here.

I stayed here in the past and really like this hotel. I would rate it in the top two in The Dalles, but I was not satisfied with the cleanliness on this visit.
The first room they assigned me seemed off when I walked it. The bed was made and towels were hung up but it didn't seem clean. There was a black ring in the shower and the bed looked disheveled. I opened the bed to find hair in it.
I reported this to the front desk and they were very friendly and apologetic. They quickly assigned me a new room. The new room was clean enough that I didn't complain, but there was a worn stained spot on the bottom sheet as well as soap scum in the shower and on the counter. The room was not dirty by the standards of some of the hotels that I have stayed at in my travels, but it was not up to what I expect from IHG.
To make it worse, I was a stay over and when I returned the second night, house keeping had not come to clean up the room and change the towels. I don't know if this was an oversight or some leftover COVID policy that I was not informed about.
When I stay at a hotel, I expect a minimum of fresh towels, a made bed, and empty trash cans. Really the sinks and showers should be cleaned every day to prevent grime and soap scum build up. This keeps the rooms looking new and clean longer.
I hope this was just a one time oversight and that my future stays will be better.
I will be back.

The [willows are the best of any hotel I've stayed at. the breakfast area was clean and had great choices. The hotel was very receptive to the fact that $50 per night for a dog was extreme when one stayed more than one night. The staff was very friendly and responded promptly to any problem we had. There were nearby trails to use. There was a bike path nearby along the Columbia river. I highly recommend this hotel.
