83 years old and traveling solo I felt very safe there.

Even tho room was on freeway side, I never heard traffic.

Easy off / on from I84

A nice breakfast selection
Chris, the breakfast person very friendly and kept the breakfast area very clean. Often offering to clear dishes for those finishing.

Clean, great breakfast with lots of choices. The location was great along the Columbia Gorge with great views above the town. The room was quiet and the staff was very nice. Parking was good. There were a few blemishes, such as peeling on the bottom of the bathroom door from water damage (at some point), but the rest of the room was very well kept. We would stay there again.

Not many choice hotel options in the Columbia Gorge, this one’s good for a quick stay. Overall I give it 3 1/2 but that’s mostly due to getting an upgraded room with the full kitchen as we’ve been on the road for days and having a full kitchen was a nice change to a mini fridge.

Room was large, and generally clean, but very dated And our full kitchen room had a odd room layout, but was functional. That was very hard, but did have a little give, was not good enough for good sleep.

Breakfast in the morning was functional with some warm options .

Check in was friendly, and paid attention to our special request, check out there was no one at the desk just to drop off the keys .

One down side of our room will be near the side door next to the smoking area, looking for us that did not impact our stay only impacted us upon packing out in the morning

Overall good for a night, if you’re traveling through

We stayed here on our trip to California then again on our return trip, On the trip down we had a 2nd floor room on the parking lot side. It was very quiet, but you do have carry your luggage upstairs. The beds were comfortable. The hotel is getting a little dated and the room was on the small size for this chain. The room appeared clean however we did find a couple of items hanging out under the luggage bench. The breakfast was good, and the breakfast attendant was doing a very good job of looking after it and was very pleasant as well. We paid with points for a two-queen room, compared to other hotels in this chain, we felt we got a very poor value for the number of points required.

On the return trip we were on the freeway side in a single king room. While the price for the room was good, it was very small-more suitable for a single queen bed. While this room was cleaner than the first it was very noisy both from inside the hotel and from the outside. It is directly next to the on ramp for the freeway. The breakfast was not nearly as well prepared as on our first visit.

The hotel was fine but not at the level of most of the Comfort Inns we have stayed at.

We've stayed here several times in the past while visiting family in The Dalles. It seems to be steadily going downhill. We found someone's socks under a bench in the room. Drywall was cracking and peeling in the bathroom. Cheap fiberglass shower was so creaking underfoot it seemed like it was going to break. The "dog area" is so loaded with sticker plants we couldn't walk our dogs there, and when we mentioned it to the front desk we got a ho-hum "yeah, management's aware of it". "Hot" breakfast was mostly cold. Lots of plumbing and TV noise from other rooms. We'll be checking out other hotels in the area for our next stay. NOT recommended.

The front desk staff were capable, and as helpful as they could be given the poor quality of the equipment and maintenance support in the hotel.

The hotel has a nice grassy play area out back.

The air conditioner didn't work at all in the first room we were assigned. We were moved to a second room where it sort-of worked, but rattled loudly for a minute, every nine minutes. We were told that it couldn't be fixed since it was a weekend.

There was a smell of old cooking in the corridors. This meant we had to keep the air conditioner running even though it was noisy and didn't work very well, just to keep the smell pushed out.

The breakfast room was small and crowded; people were sitting in the lobby having breakfast, and taking food to their rooms.

In the run-up to arrival, web services were unusably poor. The Choice Hotels website doesn't work. Every time I tried to log in, I had to reset my password. I couldn't log in on my smartphone at all. Customer service was no use at all; I never got a reply to an email request about the password reset problem, not even after 72 hour wait time it warned me of; phone call wait times exceeded 2 hours according to Google Phone, and I gave up trying to use that channel.

The room wasn't very well lit.

If you want uncomfortable beds and a room with an air conditioner that doesn’t keep your room cool - then this is the place for you. The hotel did switch us to a different room due to a non-working air conditioner. However the air conditioner in the new room did not keep the room comfortably cool. Also, there is no elevator so if a person is your party has difficulty on stairs - it could be a problem.

We were driving to the coast and needed to stop for the night and this was a great hotel for a quick stay. Very clean, nice room with comfortable beds and nice sheets, very friendly ladies at the front desk, and we were able to bring our dog. Everyone masked and breakfast was all individually wrapped- we really appreciated that. Excellent stay!

I enjoyed my stay at Comfort Inn. I first spoke with Tammy at the front desk. She was very kind and passed me along to Terry the manager who was very successful in booking me (I even ended up extending my stay for another night as I was able). When I arrived at the Inn I was greeted by Candy who was very attentive during the duration of my stay. Tammy was helpful towards me overnight as well. The room was very comfortable and clean and had a nice setup. I was happy to have the option of good decaff coffee. The TV was a decent size and the trees outside my window were very pretty. I liked the fresh, sweet smelling tolietries. I liked the look of the cafe and the available food options. Mandy the housekeeper (I believe is her name) was very persistent in her work and Olga the housekeeper was very diligent. and safe as they wore masks and gloves. All staff wore masks and were adequately covid protected in my opinion. It was a worthwhile stay. :) Dog happy too.

The hotel & room were both very clean. The pool was well kept, although small .. refreshing.
The hot breakfast had a good variety of different things & we enjoyed staying there. No complaints at all. Would stay again!
