Overnight stay on the way home, staff was great! Our room was a king and very spacious and clean but not laid out well. Three small lamps were all the lighting available and one of those was not close enough to a oYutlet to be plugged in. We are a couple that both wear glasses, have phones, and keep water near but with only one night stand it became a juggling act. There was not any electrical outlets near the bed, all the outlets were at least 5 feet away, making it difficult to charge items. Breakfast is in the LOBBY (?), very limited items, juice bagel, two bites muffins, cold cereal and coffee. No place to sit! The hotel is currently being remodeled so I hope they will address the breakfast area and the poorly laid out rooms. For an overnight stay it was good.

This is our usual stop in The Dalles. The rates are reasonable. The staff is always, and I mean always, friendly and helpful. Since we booked online we had chosen a double queen room and the clerk changed us to a king room after asking if we would prefer that change. Our room was spacious and very quiet. The window opened so we could get fresh air. The only negatives were that the housekeepers had neglected to sweep beneath the counter in the bathroom and the hallway smelled vaguely of cigarette smoke. However, the bed was very comfortable and we both had a good night's rest. Great location downtown and easy walking to many amenities. Recommend.

I enjoyed my staying at this hotel, especially the location which is with easy access to major roads and places for dining and shopping. About the hotel: The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and staff was amazing - specifically Jesus who answered questions, provided directions and made sure everything was taken care of. Highly recommend this hotel!

This is an older property that could use some updating. Specifically, newer rugs, more outlets and handle bars in the tub area. The bed was fine - the appointments ok. The property was located in the downtown area so walking to shops and restaurants was really easy. It was also great to be in, around and to read about the history of the buildings. This appeared to be a safe city. “The bag” breakfast was not appreciated. In short, the ROI was ok. I’d likely stay here again.

Walked into this hotel and no one behind the front desk was wearing a mask, which they hastily put in place. Checked us into our room - we went to it, opened it, and found a couple already in the room watching TV. No explanation by front desk staff for the mistake. While the property appears to be updated, carpets were worn, elevator was small, and room had minimal cleaning. TV remotes seem to have been untouched so we scrubbed them with disinfectant wipes. Room overlooked the main street of downtown, but it was a Sunday night, so it is fairly quiet. Major railroad line with two tracks is one block away to the north which caused some noise. Inside hallways in our building, which is not good in a pandemic.Room door does not automatically close or lock, so had to make sure it was pulled tight and locked when going through it. Pool was closed due to COVID but was not drained and was filthy and disgusting looking. Parking lot was fairly full in the morning, indicating lots of travelers.

This was our second stay…we stopped two years ago specifically because they advertised a swimming pool and breakfast but were told that the pool was closed because of maintenance. This trip we thought it would be open but we were told again that it was closed for maintenance but that they would be serving breakfast in the Tower. When we went for breakfast we found out that the Tower was closed and breakfast was in a brown paper bag consisting of cold cereal and warm yogurt. The day clerk proceeded to argue with me saying that the night clerk didn’t tell me that the tower was opened when I know clearly what she did or did not tell me. Horrible stat especially with a nine year old. NEVER AGAIN

My adult son booked this hotel by looking at the star ratings and did not read the reviews. This was a mistake. The rooms are dated, dirty and one thing broke after another. The first room, 207, the toilet over flowed onto the floor. The receptionist said they did not have a handyman and would see if she could get me a plunger. No plunger so they moved us to 208. The ac did not work in 208. It made a lot of noice but did not cool at all. After a hot night in the room we checked out and was glad to leave. A minor aside, the website says breakfast included but they said because of Covid 19 there would be no breakfast. The two other hotels we stayed in gave breakfast. One served the breakfast instead of a buffet, the other hotel gave you a bag with water, muffin and fruit. I do not recommend staying at The Dalles Inn.

Great place to stay in The Dalles! We were initially booked into a room that was quite small and when we asked for an upgrade, were graciously accommodated with a considerably larger, comfortable, cozy room. Helpful and friendly staff. Nice downtown for walking. On the way back through The Dalles, we had something different reserved on the outskirts of town and the whole time, wished we were back at The Dalles Inn. We'd stay here again in an instant!

Five fisherpersons, two rooms, up early no frills, muffin, orange coffee, tea in the lobby. Friendly desk clerk. In-room coffee tastes terrible! Bathroom, tub and shower adequate and clean. Parking area (some covered) is adequate for us.

We stayed at The Dalles Inn for a week last month during a Mural event. I can't say enough good about the staff at this Inn - the went above and beyond to meet our needs. Although not a new or modern inn, it had every convenience - ie. refrigerators, coffee makers, very comfortable beds, breakfast to go, and very clean. They made our stay a pleasant one. The wall that we were painting was right across the street so this was also the perfect location for us. Thanks for working with us in every way possible!

We do not have trailer parking in our parking lot, however, street parking is available on the streets surrounding hotel, its available on a first come basis.
In The Dalles the trains are not allowed to blow their whistle within the city limits, so they aren't a problem when trying to sleep. Most people don't notice them at night. There isn't a set train schedule so we never know when they are going to run.
There are more places to choose from in the The Dalles area.
