We had the opportunity to stay at Timberline Lodge for a surprise 75ht Birthday. It was a wonderful evening with dinner, drinks, and memories of years past. The event was pulled together thanks to all the family, friends and the wonderful staff. Everyone should spend at least one night in a National Historic Landmark!

Although this is an incredible structure with an impecable view the level of service was not at all what we expected. We arrived to a packed parking lot as there was a wedding (Sunday night) and the solar eclipse! There was no one to greet us or give any indication that someone would help us with our bags. No one...

The Timberline Lodge in Oregon was so great! We stayed there for a Highpointer's Convention and it snowed in June! So we were actually snowed-in which made our stay there so cute. The rooms are rustic which matches the rustic splendor of the place built by WPA workmen in the '30's. There is hand crafting workmanship everywhere one turns. With...

The room was charming, but the biggest draw is the lodge itself. The huge timbers, massive fireplace and historical significance make this a must see. The bar upstairs is so warm and welcoming. A good place to have a drink and play some cards. They have a nice menu also. Good hiking trails right outside the front door.

This was the first time staying at Timberline Hotel and it was fantastic. The hotel itself is very rustic and charming. The rooms were also rustic but modern. We hung out by the fire most of the night and it was relaxing. The views were breathtaking. We also did a 4 mile hike right off the hotel. Easy hike with...

First, the exterior of the hotel was used in Stanley Kubrick's The Shining. That alone is what made us even visit the location. And we had every intention of stopping by, taking some pictures and continuing our road trip. But upon walking into the lodge we were awed. It was beautiful. We came up with a number in our heads...

We had a fantastic visit! My sister was visiting from out-of-town and we chose Timberline Lodge for a getaway. Our twin room was small but very adequate and comfy. We had an amazing view of Mt. Hood from our room. Dinner in the Cascade dining room was pleasant. In the morning we enjoyed the delicious fresh coffee in the lobby,...

This hotels history makes it truly a gem. It is NOT necessarily luxurious, but it is so comfortable. The rooms are small, but they are authentic. The lobby is amazing, with all the wood work, which is original. So, glad we stayed here. A true American Gem.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Declared a National Historic Landmark in 1977, Timberline Lodge is one of Oregon's most popular tourist attractions, drawing nearly two million visitors every year. Considered an architectural wonder, it's still being used for its original intent-a magnificent ski lodge and mountain retreat for all to enjoy. Timberline Lodge is filled with amazing spaces that beg enjoyment. The main headhouse lobby features three fireplaces at the base of a 90 foot chimney. The outdoor patios offer the most stunning views in Oregon. The outdoor pool is heated and open year round. With so many places to explore all under one roof, you'll feel as if the Lodge is an extension of your guest room. Each room in Timberline Lodge has a unique rustic elegance, yet a modern and comfortable feel. All rooms have period furnishings, artwork and decor. Enjoy fresh powder feather beds, the year 'round heated pool, spa and sauna. Rooms range from premier fireplace rooms to European style bunk rooms. Regardless of which room suits you best, they all share an authentic sense of place found only in one of the Historic Hotels of America. Timberline offers the longest ski season in North America. The winter season typically begins early to mid-November and continues through Memorial Day. Our Palmer Express high-speed quad lift allows us to operate later into the summer season than anyone else (usually through Labor Day). Many years, we're open for fall skiing as well. ... more   less
