We are HGVC owners so this was a points vacation which made me rate average on value. The 2 bedroom unit we had was very well stocked with everything needed for our stay. The staff were helpful, sending maintenance down to clean our patio furniture after some wind & rain during our stay had it too dirty to use. Should our travels bring us back this way, I would not hesitate to book this resort again. For travelers I’d suggest buying groceries in Sandy the local food market is fairly expensive and for a nice meal out check out the Rendezvous Grill.

The resort was very nice. We had a 1 bedroom and there was more than enough space. All units had a propane BBQ grill on the porch with a table. The resort is located on a golf course, so grass and surrounding areas were well kept. The bed was comfortable and all units have a washer/dryer. The resort is conveniently located, portland, the Gorge, and Seattle are close enough. We went in July and the temps were in the 90s. The ac is sufficient for the unit, you just need the fan (which they provide) to blow in the bedroom at night. The staff was friendly. I would definitely recommend this resort.

We stayed at the Whispering Woods Resort from December 18th to December 25th 2023. We took the trip as a Christmas time/ Winter trip. We loved the nature on and around the property, it's location as it gave us relatively easy driving access to a lot of things we wanted to see and do around Portland and around the area in Oregon. We loved being only a few minutes (20-40 minutes from) Timberline Lodge. Whispering Woods was just below the snow line on our trip, so we got dustings of snow on the mountaintops within view of the resort but we didn't get snowed in and we didn't have to deal with snow or ice on the roads unless we wanted to drive up into the snow. An hour drive to Portland also wasn't bad for us. Loved watching Hallmark movies on cable in our room while we ate breakfast and watched for deer running by in the mornings while we were there. Overall, it was a really lovely and cozy place to stay for our vacation. We also were able to get our fireplace fixed/ working very easily with help from the front desk and maintenance when it wasn't working. It turned out to simply be that the remote/ buttons which controlled the fireplace on the wall next to it needed a couple small watch size battery changes to work, but the maintenance guy Saul replaced the whole remote/ button unit just in case because that one plugged directly into electrical power through the wall I think. Again, it was a great vacation and we really enjoyed our stay at Whispering Woods. Would definitely stay there again. We felt the price we got for our 7 night stay was also very reasonable. We got the price through doing a timeshare presentation. Not buying a timeshare as we don't feel that fits our lifestyle/ life plans/ travel plans at present, but we really enjoyed this resort. Never got to check out the spa or the jacuzzi but the advice from the front desk and informational pamphlets and magazines about exploring Oregon and the Portland area were useful. Internet was also nice and fast and convenient on the property.

This place is fantastic! Excellent accommodations and staff! Our unit had a lovely view of the golf course. We really enjoyed the heated outdoor swimming pool and hot tub. There are 5 ski resort nearby and so much snow in March. Timberline Lodge had snow up to the tops of the windows. Yet, at the resort when we arrived there was no snow. When we received 6-8" later in the week, the resort crew was up early, began clearing it off the driveways and making walkways safe. There are many beautiful scenic drives one can take. Our favorite was making a loop around to see the waterfalls along the Columbia Gorge. Just an excellent resort to spend your vacation at!

We arrived to a clean room and a very nice location. When it was time for sleep we found the bed was broken so that the head of the bed dipped down to the point we were sleeping with our head lower than our feet. We had to turn the mattress and prop up the head of the bed. The springs hurt also so not a restful stay. They started up the loud leaf blowers and mowers at 8 am almost every day. I think we were so tired some mornings we might have slept through them 2 of the days. We were given a notice at checkin that they would be doing painting starting at 9 am so we were offered free movie rentals, which were bluerays. We checked out 3, 2 of which skipped and one would not play at all. So we tried to checkout the free board games they say they offer but they no longer do that as advertised in your booklets. Now when you go to checkout games they want you to purchase them.
All this aside, I was still not going to write a bad review until they did something very unprofessional and harmful and violated the ADA. The area has a fairly large wildfire going on. The first couple of days it was raining so it was ok. But then the area became very smokey and unsafe for me to be exposed to as I have congestive heart failure. being on the top floor and the weather warming to near 80, it became hot inside the unit. I requested to be able to use the air conditioner and was told the maintenance man gave a flat out no. He said it was the end of season and he didn't want to put it in. I did let them know I needed it for my heart failure and smoke exposure and they still refused. The front desk lady was kind and empathetic but unable to get them to do it. After several calls and reminding them its a violation of the ADA to not allow me to use the in unit air conditioner they said maintenance would be up to do it. They never showed up and when we went outside 10 min before closing, they were outside talking about not doing it. When my husband went to approach them to ask they said "I think they are coming. go go go!" and got into their cars and drove off for the night. I then put in a call to after hours maintenance and they never returned the call. My husband had to try and install it with no parts, tools or ability to seal off the smoke that was coming in around it. but without us outright leaving to drive home late at night thats all we could do. I'm still recovering from this trip and dealing with the extra fluid in my lungs from the smoke exposure from my heart failure.

Whispering Woods resort is located in the beautiful Mt. Hood area of Oregon/Washington State. We visited between the two prime seasons but enjoyed beautiful hiking and fishing. The resort is small but very clean and we enjoyed the small workout room and hot tub and sauna almost every day we were there. There is a path that leads to the river and fished there several times. The mall lodge has a giftshop and information about local hikes.

All staff extremely friendly, efficient & helpful, especially Christen, who spent time learning our interests, then gave us local maps & highlighted what we'd enjoy, i.e. waterfalls, scenic trails, wineries, eateries (Dragonfly, ZigZag & Riverside Waterfront Grill). Her suggestions were spot on! Our 2-Bdrm/Loft unit was very clean, modern, spacious, comfortable (great bed) & we loved watching golfers & sipping that local wine on our patio. COVID-protocols were closely observed, which we appreciated.

We booked a week at this resort back in November and were looking forward to staying there, due to its location and Gold Crown rating from our timeshare network (RCI). However, we checked in on a Monday and left the following day. Here's why:
(1) The stairs to the third floor, where our unit was located, were more like fire escapes, and, at least in the building we were assigned, a full two flights above where we were instructed to park our car. The resort's website indicates "some stairs," but that's a bit of an understatement. We had just come from another Gold Crown resort that also warned that there were stairs to many of their units, but those turned out to be no more than half-flights either up or down. I would discourage anyone with mobility concerns from staying here.
(2) The units were constructed without concern for air conditioning. In our unit, there was a portable air conditioner that was run, somewhat imperfectly, through a living room window. There were two problems with the AC: (a) It was noisy. When watching TV we had to turn the volume up so loud we were afraid we'd receive a noise complaint from either our neighbors or management. (b) While the unit cooled the living area, it did nothing for the bedroom thirty feet down the hall, even with a fan positioned in the hall to direct cool air toward the sleeping area. We tried sleeping in the bed for about an hour but eventually gave up and retreated to the living room and quickly made up the sofa bed, which allowed us to get some sleep, even with the noisy AC.
(3) Finally, as if to add insult to injury, upon check-in we were given notice that the entire parking area would be seal coated during our stay and that we would need to move our car offsite to one of the nearby roads from Tuesday evening until Thursday afternoon. The notice even cautioned us about tracking the seal coating into the unit during that time. While we recognize that parking lot maintenance is necessary and could not be forecast when we made (and paid for) our reservation, it was the final straw for us. We left before having to endure further inconvenience.
This “trifecta of disappointments” aside, the lack of air conditioning in the sleeping area is the major reason we elected to leave. Perhaps one can blame it on climate change — this area typically experiences average daily high temperatures in the 70s in June (and the low 50s at night). We were fortunate to leave when we did, as temperatures in the entire Pacific Northwest climbed into the 100s a few days after our departure. I am sure that staying here in any of the other seasons would be okay without AC.

Located close to Mount Hood, this resort offers a quiet retreat with winter sports locations close by. There are several ski and snow parks just short drives away. The villages in the area offer great food and hospitality at reasonable prices. The units have kitchens and groceries are a short distance away. We saved by eating breakfast in the unit every day. There are also golf and hiking areas.

We had a one bedroom suite. It was very nice and clean. It was quiet when we visited. We enjoyed our stay overall. We are retired and enjoy the relaxing style here. Our first time. We're Worldmark Owners and used our credits to do an exchange so we could be closer to our home (about an hour and 15 minutes away). Overall, we were pleasantly surprised. We're used to WorldMark amenities and this one measures up nicely in that regard except for the A/C system which is a portable one. We had to use the fan at night to keep air movement going. One suggestion I'd give to the resort management is to remodel the bathroom shower in Unit 1A. It's so old it is yellowing and is not up to standard even though it is clean. The walking path to the Salmon river is amazing and a real pleasure. If you go here, and you are able to handle the walking, seeing the Salmon river up close is a real treat! Plus it was berry season, so I picked some blackberries and we enjoyed them at breakfast. If you are looking for a quiet getaway, this place will fit the bill in my opinion.

We were there in September this year and we definitely didn't need air conditioning. I suggest you ask the resort AND check the average temperatures for the Mt. Hood area for July to get a better idea. There are enough swimming pools that make me think it gets at least fairly warm but can't say for sure.

I can't answer the question but we stayed the the condos and noise was not an issue. I called the resort and they arrange for two condos that were next to each other and had a connecting door. It worked out well.

The Skiing will propably be very good in January. We drove our rental cars and never saw or used the shuttle. There is supposed to be one. Chains must be in your vehicle. I bougt them but never used them so they were returned for credit.
There are more places to choose from in the Welches area.
