Personnel were very friendly and helpful. Loved the room and spectacular view. Breakfast brought to our room was very nice. One of the best balconies overlooking the ocean ever! And, the trail along the beach is also great.

One of the best places we've maybe ever stayed... anywhere. You can't beat the oceanfront rooms. Super nice inside the room as well. Luscious, relaxing, and heavenly. Can't wait to go back. Beds were super comfy, and nothing beats sleeping with the window cracked so you can hear the ocean all night!

We have been to the Overleaf several times over the years. It’s a little spendier than some, but make no mistake. It’s worth every penny. The entertainment is right outside the window. Every room looks right at the roaring ocean, miles of walking, endless fresh air. This family owned property treat you like family. Beautifully appointed, clean, comfortable.we sleep with the window open, letting the misty fresh air lull us to sleep.

This was my favorite place to on the OR coast to come for a get away, and we came often. Recently went back after a year and a half hiatus (due to Covid), and was sorely disappointed at what I found. First of all, prices have always been high, but they used to be justified by the excellent service and amenities. Not now. 1) There is no hot buffet breakfast anymore, and what is provided by room service is generally of poor selection and poor quality and quantity (hot items are stone cold, so you must use your microwave to heat them enough to be edible). The croissant was stale, the muffins were prepackaged; so was cereal and oatmeal. Very light on the protein offerings; high on the carbs. No mixed fruit salad...just a single piece of whole fruit. The only good thing was their house-made granola. 2) Our room was fine and the bed was okay, but the pillows were hard and 'compressed'...not fluffy and cushy. DVD player didn't work. View from our 3rd floor room of the coast line was great, as always. I never get a 1st floor room, though, as the view is compromised from there. 3) The Spa is compromised in their offerings. I can't get my favorite service, the facials, so I don't use the facilities now. Library is closed, too. 4) The staff seems little less friendly and accommodating...not sure if they're just stressed out or what, but they need an attitude adjustment. 5) My biggest gripe, however, is some of the charges they automatically add on to your bill now, that you have to ask them to remove. Like the Cape Perpetua Collaboration fee. One should be asked before hand if you want to donate to their favorite organizations. Also, they are charging what is essentially a sales tax on items bought in their gift shop, pantry store, etc, and they're calling it the 'Oregon Activity Surcharge'. It has nothing to do with any activities offered by the hotel to it's guests (of which there aren't any that aren't already included in the room charge). It is actually a state business tax called the Oregon Commercial Activity Tax (CAT, for short). It is a cost of doing business in the state of OR and is assessed on the the profits of those commercial activities. Most businesses are absorbing this cost themselves, as it amounts to very little, and should be considered as their business paying their fair share of taxes. It should not be passed on to individuals as a sales tax. Oregonians don't like sales taxes, and are offended by those trying to impose them on us. Overall, the place just gives you the feeling of being overcharged and customers undervalued, Too many corners being cut with a minimum of service being rendered. I'll be looking elsewhere for a new favorite place on the coast now.
