One of a very few North American properties selected to participate in a guest chef exchange program where sister Relais properties have sent their ownership and chef to properties in North America to share their exquisite knowledge of hotelier and restauranteur expertise. Glendorn, nestled in the Northwest hills of Pennsylvania, is an undiscovered gem of a property that has long...

I returned to Glendorn for a second weekend in a row. The reason was that I needed to follow-up on the two-hour session I had at the Forest Spa during the first visit. The Forest Spa is intimate, sized correctly for Glendorn, but I was after results and not just great ambiance. I had to make sure that I was...

We recently completed a three night stay – our first – at Glendorn. Ours was a large family affair. We were delighted with the whole experience. The grounds are beautiful – a great mix of cabins, woods, lawns, lakes, paved roads, trails… We enjoyed trap shooting, fly fishing, walking, the swimming pool, the spa and (especially) the beautifully presented and...

The casual atmosphere, private cabins, beautiful scenery and outdoor activities of a camping trip with the comfort, dining and service of a 5-Star Hotel is the way I describe Glendorn. It's a lovely contradiction. Picnics under the trees with beef filet sandwiches that melt in your mouth. Dinner outdoors by the lake with live entertainment, creative appetizers and a fireworks...

My husband and I just spent a fantastic long weekend at The Lodge At Glendorn, situated in the area of the Allegheny National Forest in northern Pennsylvania. The grounds are so picturesque, trees, running streams and lakes. Each cabin different and unique. Furnished in rustic and comfortable style, with original books, paintings and appointments of the founding family. Staff, meals...

This is the second year that our family has traveled from California, Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania to enjoy the hospitality at rustic Glendorn. We are many in number and therefore have experienced several of the cabins and most likely all of the amenities. Our largest cabin, just above Skipper Lake had full baths for each of the four bedrooms and...

We've been so blessed to be able to spend long weekends at Glendorn for the past 4 yrs. We always pick the Labor Day weekend as one in particular that we are extremely fond of. The staff is over the top, accommodating your every need. We love having appetizers, drinks and dinner on the lake, followed by a fabulous and romantic...

Recently, my wife and I spent a weekend at The Lodge at Glendorn. We stayed in a one-room cabin that was built in 1931. The cabin included two wood burning fireplaces: one inside and one outside on the patio. Both were used almost daily by us as they probably were when the cabin was built. The ambiance is on a...

Nice surroundings however; way overpriced for what was offered! The most updated cabin was very nice including air conditioning, deck and own fire pit. The skeet shooting range noise interrupted the featured "retreat" atmosphere. No tour of the new "spa", the horses, the paddle boats, etc. was offered. Crummy "gift shop".
