My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Stepping Stone Farm in large part due to the warm and welcoming hosts, Larry and Vickie. They were extremely hospitable and we enjoyed many varied conversations with them over breakfast and tea. They were helpful in guiding us to the many local attractions and answering all our questions. Larry's breakfasts were delicious... More

We've been there 3 times now, and each time has been a gem. It is off the beaten path and a wonderful environment. Larry and Vicky are the greatest hosts. Our first trip there was as a family, then as a couple, and then as a family again. Most dry nights Larry will make a fire out back with some... More

My husband and I traveled in June. I got to scope out the farm bed and breakfast inn while driving by one day. I picked the "Green Garden Room" since it was a beautiful room with soothing green shades and antiques. Also, it was right next to the second floor balcony and was very private. We could go downstairs for... More

Stepping Stone Farm was a beautiful cozy place for our fun road trip. We spent two nights in the downstairs room. It was perfect. It was private with its own bathroom, two beds, small refrigerator, microwave and a comfy chair for reading. There is a train that runs right behind the farm, yet they conveniently provide earplugs at your bedside... More

Staying at Stepping Stone Farm is like visiting friends who live in the country. It's a big house (family quarters on one side, B&B on the other) on about 30 acres of fields and woods - a beautiful setting! Larry and Vicki are great hosts. The farm features a herd of goats and a flock of chickens, which produce eggs... More

Quiet as a mouse (except for the trains rolling by, which is actually pretty cool) and wonderful hosts, both 2-footed and 4-footed! We were not doing the biking thing, just passing through after visiting Fallingwater. Clean bed, good breakfast, nice folks.

When we arrived at Stepping Stone we were greeted by a small menagerie in the yard around the converted chicken house: goats, a flock of chickens, and Harvey an elderly dog who likes nothing more than a tummy rub. Before we opened the door, it was opened by our host, Larry, flying solo while his wife helped with a new... More

This B & B is a "real" B & B along the GAP trail (unlike the "guest" and "bunk" houses in other communities. It is truly a farm set in the middle of QUIET terrain. Be prepared, though, if on bike, you will have to leave the trail for about 10+ minutes to get to it. You will also have... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Stepping Stone (SSF) because the many Rempels we met were all very friendly. As cyclists themselves, they understand the needs that cyclists between Pittsburgh and DC might have. The breakfast is probably the best that cyclists will receive at their lodgings between those two metropolises. While a railroad track is nearby, it is plenty... More

Stepping Stone Farm was warm and welcoming. The view from the back porch was serene and relaxing while my husband and I enjoyed our morning coffee and the excellent breakfast. A little slice of heaven. Vicki and Larry were very hospitable and friendly. We enjoyed it so much that we are planning another stay this year while bicycling the GAP!
