Detailed Reviews
We did NOT pay for the Thousand Trails membership, as it was given to us with our RV purchase. We figured we would be camping for free, so there would be no skin off of our noses if we weren't happy. I must add, this park has MANY permanent, run down model homes.
Upon arrival, we were given a lengthy list of sites not available due to power outages. Being Labor Day weekend the campground was packed, understandably so. Driving the campground, first come first serve, it was difficult finding site numbers, locating sites with full hook ups, or locating road names. From the road, it is impossible to see water and sewer lines. After driving the same roads multiple times, we finally settled on a site. The electric, water and sewer, yes, we found one with full hook ups, are all on the passenger rear side of the vehicle. The picnic table should be replaced. The fire pit is a bunch of rocks in a circle directly next to the road. My guess is that previous guests made this ring, as many sites did not have one. Also, it, more than likely, was put near the road, as there is very little space on the site once you put up your tent, travel trailer or RV.
It gets two stars because the location is great for a long weekend in the Poconos for hiking and we were able to bring our two dogs, which is an added bonus.
For the first time in my life I wanted to run before even setting up my RV. Again, if it wasn't Labor Day weekend, I would have left.

Sites are a bit tight even for just my 21 foot camper. Pad sites are stone mix. Hook ups were reliable and sewage hook up was in perfect spot from my hook up location on camper. Staff member at check in was friendly and helpful. Did not use the pool area.

We got a free year membership to Thousand Trails with the purchase of our new RV. This was our first time to use it. We booked at Timothy lake north to take our grandkids to Crayola.
Had to check in at Timothy lake south, not a big deal, but downhill from there!
The best I can say about the campground is that we had a place to sleep rather than drive 3 hrs back home. Even my 8 yr old granddaughter said it looks abandoned! Everything but the pool was closed, and it only went to 3.5 ft depth! Kids used playground a couple times.
Electric at the post very volatile. Kept having to reset.
This park looks like it could have been a nice place in a former life. Wish they’d bring it back to life.
We used the pool at the South Park - it went to 4 ft depth and was a rectangle shape. Much more conducive. South also has a small lounge with books and games, BUT - everything closes around 5 pm! Ridiculous during the “high” season!
Encore/Thousand Trails, please don’t bother responding. I’m not interested in your cookie cutter response as I’ve read on ALL other reviews.

We will never stay here again! Absolutely terrible. Watched an 8 year old literally beat the crap out of another, ran for help and not one of 3 people sitting outside the office would help even though we expressed the severity of what was going on on the playground and our children did not feel safe! 2 cars to a site.... looked like party at most of the sites including the seasonals! Some cabins had 5 cars and 3-4 tents on their sites. Talk about an eye sore of a place. No enforcement of rules especially keeping noise to a site. No fireworks? My husband had to run outside and get the hot fireworks off our camper to avoid a fire one of the 2 nights fireworks were going off. Never once did we see any “security” or attendants driving around. Never have we ever not felt safe until this trip. I plan to let everyone know to not come here!

This property looks like it is in foreclosure. This pictures that are posted on the web site are not accurate. The restrooms (3 of 4) are padlocked shut, one has a large hole in the roof and the only (remaining open) did not have any water to the men's room, they had to use a Porta Potti, shower facilities were dirty and unkept, appears to have mold growing on the tiles. Swimming pool was under repair when we arrived, the staff indicated it would be up a running in a day or two, however the entire pool area was in need of lawn cutting/trimming the grass, as it was very high. The golf course has had no maintenance is a while. There is no store or recreation hall, all of those buildings have been closed for a very long time. Most of the buildings on the property are closed, and have been vandalized. Overall the place should be abandoned until proper repairs can me made, or they should remove the pictures as they are not what you will encounter on a trip there.

The place is an absolute dump. I'm a cabin owner for over 10 years.. Back then it was gorgeous and alive. Now everything is run down. It's a ghost town. Everything's in disarray. The pool is empty and peeling ..I have never seen as much false advertisement in my life. Save your money go elsewhere... To boot every complaint on this site is answered by a cookie cutter reply " were sorry that your stay wasn't a good experience." Instead of writing a generic script? fix the place

Nothing can touch there trees, so there's no way to put up a tarp. Cant even wrap it around.

I haven't been to Timothy Lake since the early two thousands, but boy was.I shocked when I arrived to see the once nice indoor water Park with the pizza and snack area next to it with a gameroom followed by a restaurant and laundry area all dilapidated and left to rot. How sad to let all those nice things just deteriate! The peaple that run this place should be ashamed of themselves for letting such a once wonderful place go like that, besides the fact that you advertise things that aren't there.! The only thing left there are the 2 pools and a small sitting room area that everything ridiculously closes at five. Come on peaple if you want to run a business, this place the way its going is not going to last , I won't be coming back here anymore!

The worst campground my family has ever stayed at. Nothing was open in the campground on Memorial Day weekend! They had a whole year during COVID to get any renovations completed. There wasn’t even a disclaimer on the website stating nothing was available. I get the pool not being open maybe because it’s in the Poconos area, but I couldn’t even find an employee on the premises to find out what was going on! Would not recommend staying here.

We just spent Labor Day weekend here, and honestly if you have other options for 80 dollars a night I would go for it because this place clearly doesn’t do any maintenance to this campground and it’s ashame because the location to everything is perfect. The grass needs to be cut, a lot of tress are dead, the building and bathhouse are not sanitary or safe. I don’t ever really complain but when I’d like to help someone out before they loose more business by a unsatisfied costumer.
