The Hampton Inn Erie-South is an ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers visiting Erie, Pennsylvania. Located in the city's shopping and dining hub, our hotel is near popular restaurants and specialty stores. We're close to major companies like Wabtec and Erie Insurance and Parker Hannifan as well as prestigious colleges and medical centers such as UPMC Hamot and Saint Vincent Hospital. The Bayfront Convention Center and local recreational spots including Erie Bank's Sports Park and Presque Isle Downs and Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park are also nearby. Just a mile from Millcreek Mall our hotel is a short drive from UPMC Park, the home of the Erie SeaWolves, and near the Warner Theater and Erie's waterfront. In summer, enjoy a cruise on Lake Erie or a walk along the beaches at Presque Isle State Park. The Erie Otters hockey team plays at Erie Insurance Arena about 10 miles away.

My stay was so brief, it was difficult accessing the property, but the hours I spent here were comfortable and stress-free. The rooms appear to be new and in the modern Hampton Inn style, meaning storage was plentiful, a seating area was present (and welcome), and the bed was perfect for sleeping after a long day.
There is a lot in the area- I lost track of how many restaurants I passed along the way (many of which were closed since it was after 10 o'clock at night). The area also means high prices- no good hotels in the Erie area are cheap during the summer months.
If I stay here again, perhaps I'll have more time to experience what seems to be a very nice property.

Great place, great location. Clean room, excellent service from Check in to check out. I left my purse at the rooftop restaurant Oliver’s (which has very good food, beverages and service as well!). I didn’t realize it until early morning and a wonderfully positive and helpful hotel representative named Lindsey (and Halle who was working with her) found it for me. I cannot thank you enough Lindsey!! Five stars across the board, would definitely stay here again:)

The Hampton Inn Erie South is a very clean hotel, and out of all the hotels our group stayed at during the week, this one is definitely my favorite. It’s not because it’s new or modern, but because it’s cozy and warm. They even accommodated the arrival of two buses without any issues. Be sure to stop by the breakfast bar where Peggy who has been working there for 23 years, welcomes you with a smile, makes sure that everything is absolutely perfect when you’re eating, and that nothing is ever missing. She adds a lot of love into this place with special personalized decorations, making it feel like a home away from home. There’s also a well-stocked convenience store and a fitness center, which are both great additions.
The swimming pool is open late, clear, and warm, making it a perfect spot to relax after a long day. The late pool hours and the cozy, welcoming vibe of the hotel made this stay especially memorable on our one-week trip to Nashville.

The Hampton Hotel is not up to Hilton's standards. The rooms need several basic aesthetic improvements from painting, to fixture replacement, to furniture replacement, to carpet replacement, and basic cleaning. The carpet is stained, the vents are extremely dirty, and I didn’t want to take my shoes off. The bathroom sink had two large cracks and the bathtub was chipped and spot painted. We immediately requested another room, but no rooms were available that had a King size bed. We took another room with two beds in a little better shape.

We stayed here twice in the last week. While there was a small issue with check out during our first stop, Shelly the front desk manager made every effort to explain and compensate us for the minor inconvenience. Shelly is a fantastic example of customer service done well. The hotel manager Kathy also waited on us and was very accommodating and pleasant to deal with. We have stopped here multiple times in the past 2 years, we have always found the rooms to be clean and comfortable. The top floor room of our last night however was very loud with heavy winds disturbing our sleep but we certainly can’t fault the hotel for the weather. This location is right off the highway and there are many gas stations, restaurants and shopping close by.

The employees at this Hampton were some of the most friendly that I have experienced at any Hampton. At check-in, I was offered my snack and water as a Diamond member and didn't have to ask like I normally do. She also asked what brought us to Erie and then gave us a tourism book with tons of information.
The room was clean, but the shower could use a little extra TLC and the grout in the bathroom floor tiles allowed too much of a divot to collect dirt. The hallways on the 4th floor could also use a steam clean. They were a little grimy, especially outside the elevator.
Breakfast was typical. I was looking forward to bacon, according to some other reviews I read, but they had the typical sausage choice. One nice thing about breakfast was the choice of Red Velvette waffles. Yum!! Nice change-up there.
Overall, nice stay. I would stay here again.

Driving from NH to MI we stopped in Erie along the way. We were able to book a nice room through the HHonors app and seamlessly checked in and got to our room despite the hotel being full of traveling sports families.
At almost 11pm the lobby was packed and we whizzed past all the loud children and straight up to our room.
What blew me away was how clean this place is. The lobby, though packed, was still very clean. The elevators, usually the first to be a casualty of such situations, was very clean. Even the hallways.
I love Hampton Inns and true to Barron’s idea, my stay is always reliable. Breakfast was fantastic and the staff was just incredible.
You should definitely stay here.

Our stay at this Hampton Inn was wonderful. The employees always put the guest's needs first and address any concerns promptly and with a smile! Upon out arrival I received a text message on my phone welcoming us and asking if everything with our room was okay. I learned later that this text message was directly from the main desk where we were staying. Kathy was responsive when I needed to contact her about something. The text message system is a great way to communicate, especially if you will not be at the hotel all day long. Also, kudos to Kathy at the front desk for offering outstanding customer service! The breakfast was filled with everything we could possibly want- from eggs, bacon and potatoes to oatmeal, waffles, cereal, muffins and more. Peggy kept it all filled and clean with a smile. There was always hot chocolate and coffee in the entrance area which we enjoyed while we played games in the lounge area (which doubled as the breakfast area). The indoor pool was warm and clean. We loved that half of it is a glass roof. We ate dinner outside on the patio next to the pool, although the hotel sits alongside the interstate so it was noisy. Our room was located on the back side of the hotel along the interstate, however the noise was not bothersome to us. You may want to ask for a room on the parking lot side if you are sensitive to those kinds of sounds. We have traveled extensively and have found many other hotels lacking these amenities as well as customer service. This Hampton Inn is stellar and I would highly recommend it for everyone.

First, I want to say that the facility itself was top notch. Very clean rooms and the staff communicated well through text messages. The reason that I am writing this is to inform guests to only stay at this resort if you can get a room on the parking lot side of the building. The facilty is all but built on top of the interstate and exit ramp. If you get a room on that side as we did, good luck sleeping. As a Hilton Honors member, I requested ahead of time that a room that is quiet in an upper level. We got there no later than 4:30 pm and were assigned a room on the freeway side of the building. I asked the counter clerk if we could be changed as I had requested a room where it was quiet. She said they did not have any King Rooms available on the parking lot side. Usually I get a text from Hilton allowing me to choose my room ahead of time, but on this date, it was not sent. Beyond that, the facility was great. I just wish the lame brains at Hilton were more intelligent in picking their sites for their hotels. For those Hilton Honors members,, I would suggest that you stay at the Hilton Gardens Inn or one of the newer brand resorts at this exit as they are farther away from the freeway.

One of the best hotel stays I've ever had. Every single staff member I interacted with was very friendly and very helpful. When I sent a text asking a question, Rena (I hope that's correct) responded quickly with an answer. She even informed me that my room was ready and I could check in at any time without me having to ask. Also the evening desk person gave me excellent advice on where to park for the Erie Otters hockey game. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel has many breakfast options and it was very delicious. The hotel has a nice location that was easy to get to. Will definitely stay here again when visiting Erie.

When we were there it was floors 3 and 4, but I assume they will move down when those are completed. Not sure when they will finish but the hotel should tell you.
The Hampton Inn Erie is about 15 minutes from the Warner Theater. It is about 10 miles to downtown so depending on the traffic.
