We just returned from an excellent stay in Erie. The hotel is very conveniently located by the mall and highway. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and were able to deliver a special request to our room quickly and promptly. The room was very clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, one of the best that we have had at a Marriott. There is coffee and tea in the lobby and this was appreciated after a long day. This will be our place to stay the next time in Eire.

This was my first experience at a TownePlace Suites hotel, and it was a very positive one. Everything about this experience was good from the very friendly front desk staff to the room itself. The staff always greeted me cheerfully as I arrived and departed the hotel, and they were helpful when I had questions. The room was small, but clean and probably the most efficient use of space I've ever seen in a hotel room, so I didn't feel like I was sacrificing any amenities. The kitchenette was nicely appointed and well stocked with dishes, etc. The larger refrigerator was a surprise - I was expecting more of a "dorm size" fridge. I only grabbed a quick yogurt from the breakfast bar, as I had other meal plans, but the breakfast options were plentiful. The only downside - and it was not a significant one - was the sort of obscure location tucked back in a corner of a shopping center, making it a little hard to find the first time. But after you've been there, even this wasn't an issue. Great hotel experience!

Stayed here three nights in June with other family members. Hotel was very clean. Rooms were spacious and I appreciated the residential size refrigerator. Beds were comfortable and that is saying a lot for someone with a very bad back. Front desk personnel and housekeeping were all very nice and welcoming. Housekeeping needs to ensure all rooms have the same items, out of three rooms there were missing washrags and mats for bathroom. Front desk quick to respond to any requests. Breakfast was standard small buffet.

The stay (just one night) in this hotel was a nightmare. The front desk workers don’t have basic skill to do their jobs. They even don’t understand how to use hotel computer system’s information to distinguish their guest’s booking source during checking in process. The day I stayed had a very bad snowstorm in Erie, the hotel is not full at all. I requested room upgrade from a King bed room to a 2 bed room as I am entitled to do it with a Marriott Gold member. But Nadia V. kept saying to me that they can’t upgrade me because I booked this room through the 3rd party agent instead of directly from Marriott. It’s a big lies as Stephen who is also a front desk work proved me that I did book my room through the Marriott directly during the check out process.
Very clearly, this hotel hired unqualified people to work in the front desk and it definitely are mistakes. The hotel should hire or training more people like Stephen not Nadia V. because her unprofessional attitudes, my stay turns to be a nightmare. This hotel doesn’t have any security personnel. I have been assigned to room# 219. The room #218 has a group of women who keep screaming/laughing/ talking loudly forever so no one can sleep at all because of them. I called hotel’s front desk after 12:00 am and was told that she will talk to them to stop it. but it didn't happen at all. So, I must go down to the front desk at 1:00am and ask the women who promised to call 218 went with me to #218 and talk to them. I understood that the hotel can’t select the guests but at least the hotel should have security to stop those crazy people behaviors. I never realized that Marriott’s hotel offered so bad/unsecure environment to the guests. That’s not Marriott hotel I expected at all.
I am a Hilton diamond member and Marriott Gold member. I didn’t realize that there is a Homewood suite which is just next to this hotel until I arrived at this hotel. If I knew that this hotel treated me with such wrong attitudes, I shouldn’t have booked this one at the first place. When I made this booking, I trusted the Marriott brand which I have been staying so many times in different cities and enjoyed them. But this hotel really destroyed Marriott reputation to me at all.

Location is at the far end of parking lot desert. The mall is not "steps away" as advertiseted. No restaurant within a safely walkable distance. The room was clean but was small with the head of bed less than three feet from bathroom noise. Air conditioner cycled loudly with wide temperature range from too hot to too cold. Weird elevator location. When asked for a list of recommended or nearby restaurants, the evening desk staff provided a print out of just the names and addresses of more than 100 restaurants in the Erie area -- not useful. The morning desk staff was very helpful with a Wi-Fi issue. Breakfast was okay and the breakfast room clean and comfortable. In view of the large number of hotels in the Erie area, we will go elsewhere next time.

Location and cleanliness was excellent. We walked to a Firebird Grill and had a good dinner. The hotel is in need of updating. It’s more like a mid-90’s hotel with one plug on each side of the bed and 4 at the desk. I travel with a cell phone and CPAP machine. One plug is no longer acceptable. TV onscreen guide didn’t work so had to scroll through all the channels one-by-one.

We have stayed at this hotel several times. We are not complainers, however, this was the worst experience ever. We stayed 4 nights and did not recieve housekeeping once. We were there with 2 other couples and they didn’t receive it either. Had to go to front desk to get towels. Our friends had toilet repaired and the broken toilet piece was put In their garbage… which never got emptied during our stay. Nasty!! The breakfast was minimal at best. Sometimes the coffee was like water. Like they just poured water over the used grinds and called it coffee! There was no fruit until our last day. One morning there was no coffee, no yogurt, no fruit no muffins! The kitchen lady was very rude when asked why there was no food. She sat outside for 45 minutes instead of doing her job. I don’t know what the problem is with this place but they better figure it out soon. Very disappointed.

We planned to stay at one of the Splash Lagoon hotels but a week before our trip, they called and cancelled stating they needed to do a deep cleaning. I was stressed due to COVID so I searched for a new hotel with a high cleanliness rating. I did not want to be cancelled on again because this trip could not be planned for another time. Typically my family stays in a double queen room for $100. So when I found a high rated room that offered a small kitchen I thought why not? So for $150, we have a queen bedroom with a sofa couch and a kitchen. It is very clean and the furniture is comfy. There is a ton of storage if someone was planning to stay multiple nights, which makes sense since this is a tourist area. There is a shopping plaza next door and lots of restaurants too. Great area!

Have stayed twice for business over the past 2 months. I typically stay at the Sheraton Bayfront or Cobblestone Bayfront for the past 10years.
I will never go back to this hotel. The afternoon front desk associate was amazing... the gentleman in the morning not so much. The management hasn't been the least bit helpful in follow-up with the issues.

Everyone we encountered at TownePlace Suites has been wonderful. With all the changes Covad brings to travel, they have really stepped up to make their guests safe and comfortable. We are almost done with our month stay and have enjoyed the location and room. Big Thanks to Melissa, Emily, Michael and Shari at the front desk, who help coordinate these odd times with room supplies and cleaning. We appreciate all the staff who kept the hotel clean and working. I was bummed that the pool had not been open, but they were waiting for an inspection. It did open during our stay, with use by appointment and that worked fine. We love the location – lots of restaurants, including local ones within 2 miles and two grocery stores close. Easy to get to Presque Isle and Ashbury Woods for time outside. I booked to stay here again in a few weeks.
