A excellent Hampton Inn is on the Erie Pa Bayfront.. We were facing the marina on the third floor. Very quiet. No noise as others mentioned? There is a small deck out back by Olivers beer garden where you can bring your own drinks or walk across the street to Olivers. The area is very level for walking or riding a bike on the paved trail out front. The rooms were excellent with no issues. The check in was fast and easy and the girl was extremely friendly. The breakfast was delicious and a very clean area. The dog area is out front by the parking lot to the left side with doggy bags well stocked. Overall 10 stars.

This was my third stay at the Hampton Inn Bayfront and while the location and property remain worthy of a 5-circle rating, but some flaws on the most recent visit have me scaling that back a bit. Such things become much more difficult to overlook with the high rates that this hotel routinely charges. While I praise this Hampton Inn to high heavens for offering daily housekeeping as the standard (too many hotels aren't these days), they unfortunately failed to clean my room. While all rooms have a water view of some type, I find that the ones facing the "harbor" are much better than the ones facing the maritime museum. I'll also give the hotel major kudos for having a 12 noon checkout time as the standard. The room itself was of decent size, comfortable and clean. The bathroom was clean and in generally good condition with the exception of a large chunk taken out of the bathtub. The curtains block out morning sunlight quite well. The breakfast is decent. The location of this hotel is one of its best attributes, as it offers a great view of the bayfront area and also is a integral part of the area, including Oliver's Beer Garden (same owner as the hotel) right out the back door and on the water. It's family-friendly (at least until 10 p.m.) and includes a nice miniature golf course. The setting is spectacular and the nearly entirely outdoor space very well done and offering live entertainment on some nights. The beer garden's prices (for both food and drinks) is at the extreme high end for Erie. There are other less expensive options, but not with an environment quite that awesome.

On behalf of the entire hotel team, I want to thank you for sharing about recent stay at Hampton Inn & Suites! It is always encouraging to hear positive feedback, particularly when it comes from those who matter the most – you! Our hotel currently provides housekeeping services daily unless your privacy door hanger was on the door. We will be sure to look into this matter further as this surely is not our standard. We hope you enjoyed your time in Erie and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Traveling through the area and needed a place to stay for one night. I am skeptical of Hampton Inns due to some bad experiences in older properties in the past. But decided to give this one a chance and am glad I did.
Pros: - friendly staff (special shout out to Cherelle) - large room - great roof-top restaurant and bar - Olivers - where we had some drinks and a yummy meal - nice walk-in shower - no need to step into a tub. Also the control knob was not under the shower head so you don’t get wet trying to turn on the shower - sounds minor but great to have coat hooks by the door when walking in
Cons: - parking is outside so in bad weather, you have make sure you have the right gear to get to and from your car - thin, small bath towels (typical of a Hampton though)
Overall, a great choice if in Erie, PA.

This was our second stay at this hotel. It is conveniently located on the water with great views. Check in was fine, although I had to ask the agent for the diamond member benefits. Parking is free and directly across the street from the hotel. The beds are very comfortable and the room very clean. Lots of stations on the TV, but a station guide would have been very helpful. It was great to have a fridge and microwave in the room; this was a huge bonus! Lots of charging ports and outlets throughout the room. The hotel has switched over to the large dispensers of soap, lotion, shampoo and shower gel, so no small versions to take home. The free breakfast was much better than most hotels. Cold items included several cereals, apples, yogurt, breads, muffins and bagels, Hot food included scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, sausage, oatmeal, and self made waffles. Everything was great, except the waffles. Everyone was having a hard time getting them cooked properly. We guessed it was the batter. Otherwise, a great selection of food. There’s also a nice coffee/tea station that is available 24/7. We really enjoyed the orange jasmine tea. Check out was quick and the agent kindly reminded us to keep one of our room keys so we could exit the parking lot! There is a slot to drop off the key once the barrier lets you out. We will definitely stay here again. Friendly staff, great breakfast, comfortable room.

This is a nice hotel in a great location. The staff were friendly and breakfast nicely stocked! The hotel is walking distance to several nearby attractions. We would stay here if we return to Erie. We stayed in room 201… I would avoid this room/area as the exhaust from the upstairs restaurant is blown from the hallway air vents and the hall/room smelled like food all day/night. Also, Be aware of the venue behind the facility during the summer months. We visited on a Saturday and it was insane until after 11p. The hotel mentions this on their site but the noise from the band is not the issue.

We do apologize for the exhaust coming from the restaurant as this was not our intention to disturb you. We hope to see you again during your next visit to Erie!

Wow. This is place is on a nice stretch of the bayfront. The Sheraton nearby is better situated to actually face the water though. My sons had fun fishing in the area but when we came back each day, it was super disappointing to deal with the plumbing problems. The maintenance guys were super nice trying to help fix the recurring problems. We weren't the only room on the floor to deal with it either. For a 4 night stay costing over $1k, I was hoping management would understand better. After the first day, we actually resigned ourselves to using the first floor public toilets in the hopes that we could shower off after fishing on the lake in the hot sun. Several reports to front desk resulted in no response from the manager, Niki. Her voicemail was full, so no message could be left. Despite multiple requests to discuss our disappointment, the manager only offered 15k Hilton points. That amounts to a whopping $50 off one night's rate. That's not my idea of customer service. The big thing that sticks in my crawl after checking out was the cowardice of the manager. When you book a room and pay $1100 for the stay, isn't it reasonable to assume your family will be able to use the shower and toilet? Oh well, what goes around comes around.

Dear Avgjoe5, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your stay. We truly aim to provide the best customer service we can at all times, but its clear we fell short. We apologize for the inconvenience that our plumbing issues caused during your stay. Our maintenance team did come in as quickly as possible to resolve the issues and they were resolved by 6:30pm the same day they were reported and the facilities were usable for the remainder of your stay. After reviewing your guest assistance case Hilton determined that there was not any other compensation they were willing to provide. While it may not seem like a large amount, 15,000 points is equivalent to over $100 off one of our rooms during our peak summer season. We are working with our technical team to fix the issues with our voicemail system. Our management team is always available via email as well. Thank you again for relaying your concerns to us. First, you pay for location. Of all the hotels I stayed at on a 30 day trip across the U.S. and Canada, this one was the most expensive, but I used points to get it for free. That made a difference! Otherwise, even with Hilton Honors rate, it was around $350 per night, in August. The usual amenities at any Hampton Inn were met at this one: Excellent housekeeping, friendly staff, a good breakfast, a comfortable bed. Lindsay, Ally, and Cherelle were particularly helpful, informative, and friendly. As for quiet, that needs explanation. There is a family friendly beer garden named Oliver's next to the hotel. They have excellent food, a nice "vibe," great live music, and I had a fun time there. The downside if you are staying at the hotel is that they shut down between 10 and 11 p.m., and you *will* hear the music no matter what room you choose. I was at the far end, away from Oliver's, but the Maritime Museum next door has a large wall parallel to the hotel and perfectly reflects sound from the beer garden. Even though my room was at the opposite end from the beer garden, I still heard the music, although not loudly. I was able to go to sleep while I could hear it, but if you are sensitive to that sort of thing, then there is no room in this hotel that you will not hear it from. I was there on a Saturday night, so the place was "hopping." I do not know if they are open during the week, and it appears that they shut down once it gets cold. There is also a rooftop restaurant at this hotel. I did not hear them in my room at the far end of the hotel, away from the restaurant. One more peculiarity. I don't know if this one was just in the summer, just for a short time in August, or year round, but almost every window had huge spiders outside them. They are *not* inside, and cannot gain entry, given the way the windows are made, but if spiders creep you out a lot, don't look out the windows if you stay here, at least not in August. Also, (free) parking is across the street. There is a limited front entrance drop off area, but no long term parking there.

At the end of a pandemic, so many things could be overlooked, but not here. Piciking a room online,, easy.. Check in on line and getting our Bluetooth key set up, seamless and timely. The room, CLEAN, with all the technology ports we needed. Bathroom, CLEAN When we arrived, a lot was going on with the rooftop restaurant traffic and prom goers taking pictures. We were able to just walk through the lobby to the elevator and go to our room. We had a peaceful, quiet evening, barely hearing other guest room doors closing, so they are well sound insulated rooms. Comfortable beds is an understatement, the beds were perfect. Night auditor brought us extra pillows at midnight (great guy). Exercise room (not used) looked clean and spacious. My son and I used the pool twice. Again, another part of the hotel that could be overlooked but was very clean with a maintenance employee stopping in to check the area and pool water levels. Breakfast is where I have experienced the biggest drop-off in my hotel stays, we came in during the final thirty minutes of availability so my expectations were low. They knocked it out of the park, all items were continually stocked until they stopped serving. Four people, in one room, for two nights and not one negative thing to say. Our plans changed and we had to leave a day early, the young lady at the front desk made me very comfortable that my honors points would be returned, so I left a very happy customer. The points thing was a fiasco, but that is a Hilton Honors thing, not that property. That feeling has left a lasting impression on me as I sit in my guest room of another Hampton Inn, in another state. This was the best Hampton Inn stay I have ever experienced, and this during trying times. Stay here!!!

I have spent total of 4 weeks at this hotel. Great location, newer hotel but horrible management… Although it is a newer hotel, outside of the hotel is covered with cobwebs and dirt, you cannot see outside from the windows. They have a nice restaurant and a beer garden with high prices. This is the only place I have seen serving nachos with no jalapeños… and margaritas with no salt… and when you ask why is that everyone has the same answer: “We just work here, we don’t make the rules…” very convenient. For $250 a night stay, I would expect a better breakfast… instead of writing the names of the guests for the day on a useless board at the front desk, they could use their funds and resources to provide better breakfast and service. They clean rooms every 4 days, but still do not leave any extra towels, shampoos, soaps etc… I can go for days but I think you get the idea… I stayed there just for the convenient location and will consider my choices more carefully next time…

Dear Evan, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your stay. We appreciate all of our guests feedback so that we know where we are falling short and make a plan to correct it. We are aware of the challenges that being by the lake presents and we have contracted a company to come out twice a year to do a thorough cleaning of the outside of the building. They are scheduled to arrive within the next month or so. As far as housekeeping - we are still by request only and if we do not ask when you would like service our system defaults to every 4 days. I will work with the desk to ensure they are asking every guest when they would like house keeping so this does not happen to anyone else. In regards to the Beer Garden they are a separate business, however we work very closely with them so I will pass your comments along to the management team there. We truly do value your input and we will work hard to correct the issues presented. Hopefully, in the future you will be willing to give us another chance to show off the improvements we are working so hard to enact. Nicole Axtell-Clark Assistant General Manager

Yes, it's a very nice indoor pool and it is even handicapped accessible. Maximum depth I believe is 5 feet. They are limiting capacity to 20 people at a time, though we had it all to ourselves on a Sunday afternoon.
There are more places to choose from in the Erie area.
