What I like about this place are the spatious rooms including stove, microwave, washing machine, toaster, firdge, cutlery, dishes, etc. From this point of view you feel at home and for long stays buying at the supermarket and eating in your room is a good alternative. The rooms have a working desk, sofa, and raised table to eat. Furniture and some renovation happened a few years ago. The problem is probably they run the hotel too lean with little personnel. Cleaning and bed making is every other day, the cleaning is sloppy, towels sometimes forgotten, toilettes clogged do not flush properly, so there are running issues. Fitness center is OK, swimming pool is too shallow mostly OK for kids. No Yakushi. Noise isolation is poor, especially if your room faces the highway. Breakfast is the usual hotel hot buffet that does not taste. No fruit salads, ultra sweet yogurts are indedible. The hotel is conveniently located close to Mill Creek Mall with several restaurants and shops around which you can reach walking. Overall, mixed feelings.

We visited Erie with our 3 month old puppy and 3 children while our oldest was on leave from the Army. Our younger two are 4 and 12 years old. The 2 bedroom/2 bath suites are perfect for families with pets and the hotel is located in a great part of town. You are very close to shopping, activities, and restaurants — but still only a short drive to all the local attractions and beaches. The rooms have full kitchens and there are nice gas grills available to guests, so if you enjoy cooking your own meals like we do, it can easily be done. Just make sure you pack spatulas and serving spoons. We did have some hiccups with billing, hospitality, and available amenities — but we are hoping these were growing pains since PA recently reopened completely. The housekeeping staff was very friendly here but the gym and pool both had out of order signs on them. The breakfast selection was also disappointing so if you’re visiting soon - I would recommend planning to make your own breakfast. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would consider this hotel for our next visit.

We recently stayed here on a Saturday night and although there were a few school groups here as well (so the pool area was packed) our top floor room kept the noise level quiet. Room was nice and clean and breakfast was good. Overall and good experience given the fact this Hotel was booked full. Staff at front desk were very friendly.

Check in was easy. Our room was on the third floor, facing the hotel behind us. Super quiet. Everything was clean. My son was touring Penn State the next day, so we didn't use the amenities. Breakfast was good both mornings we were there... premade omelets, turkey sausage, corned beef hash, potatoes, and French toast strips. This hotel is close to a lot of restaurants and shopping. I like the Homewood Suites because of the kitchens, so convenient when traveling with family.
Right before check out, we had an issue with the toilet. The maid in our hallway and the maintenance fellow helped out immediately.
We enjoyed our stay.

I stayed 3 nights in January from Thursday - Sunday during the snow storm. Positives and areas for improvement below.
Positives: - Suite was clean and a nice size with a full kitchen (stovetop, microwave, full fridge, dishwasher, dishes, pans, 1 to 2 cup coffee maker and tea, utensils and storage containers) and living area with couch, table, footstool, and eating table. Bathroom had lotion, soap, and one disposable make-up removing cloth and bath gel, shampoo, conditioner in the shower but no shower cap. - Room was quiet overall even though I could see I-79 from my room. I did hear the TV and next door guests through my bedroom wall a little. - Free hot breakfast in the morning from 6 am - 9 am: scrambled eggs, chorizo sausage, breakfast potatoes (a bit cold one day), pork for tacos with sauces, oatmeal, muffins and bagels. I did not see yogurt or fresh fruit. There was apples in a bag to take. Tip: Come earlier from breakfast to avoid a last minute rush and food being gone. - Sean at the front desk was welcoming, friendly, and most helpful for all my requests, and made Homewood Suites seem more like a home. - There is a small indoor pool, no hot tub. - Free coffee, tea, hot chocolate in the lobby - Parking lot was plowed and sidewalks were salted and clear to walk on. There were two shovels by the door which were needed to shovel the car out. - Location is great - in the parking lot near Millcreek Mall - you could walk to some stores, the library, and were a 10 minute walk from Outback restaurant. Firebirds restaurant is a short drive through the parking lot. Hotel is located just past the Fairfield Inn. - To the right when you exit the mall, is an exit to I-79. - Housekeeping is every 2nd day. - Snack shop has some drinks and microwaveable and frozen foods - pizza, Stouffer meatloaf and mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, spicy chicken noodle. No on-site restaurant.
Areas for improvement: - Coffee in the lobby was watery, weak. I would have liked to have a dark roast or more robust flavor. The coffee filter packs in the room made good coffee. - Would have liked some yogurt and fresh cut fruit for breakfast

I made a reservation to stay at this hotel months in advance and was looking forward to our stay! was traveling a lengthy distance with my family and would not arrive to check in until around 6pm (I noted this in the app when I checked in online.)
After hours of travel, I received a call from the hotel (I am now a half hour away from arrival) stating they “oversold” the hotel and had no rooms left despite the fact I checked in online. The associate who called offered no help or apology. I questioned why my room was given up considering the reservation was made months in advance (I was coming in for a conference) - I received no reply or suggestion on what I could do. Also, how do you sell more rooms than you have???? She told me there were other hotels in the area and maybe I could try those. What?? So now I’m driving and after hours of travel have the added task of looking up other hotels?!
The clerk then stated “someone” would contact me to provide me with Hilton Honors points in acknowledgement of the inconvenience. No one ever contacted me and it’s been more than a month. I gave them ample time to reply before writing this review.
Luckily, the nearby Hampton Inn at 130 Easy Front St in Erie had availability and this property was one of the best Hamptons I’ve been to. I’d highly recommend that property over this one considering the lack of care and follow up this one has for its guests.

We called multiple times to make sure that the pool is open we were told yes it was but with limited hours and we were fine with that however when I tried to use the pool we were told nope sorry you have to make a reservation to use the pool and of course they were all booked up. I just thought that was ludicrous. I explained that I had called multiple times and that was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. the lady, I believe she was a nighttime manager, was very rude and When talking to me with another guest came up she started talking to that guest. She told the night clerk, as I was walking away, “ I don’t have to even have the pool Open, that would fix her”. I let it go at that point. The dishwashers are the loudest dishwashers you’ll ever hear in your life. We were in room 205 and I strongly suggest you do not stay there as there is a locked door/closet that must contain the ac unit for the building. Breakfast was awful even for a Covid breakfast! No brown sugar for oatmeal! No bread for roasting. Yes, bagels and cold cereal and muffins.... No public restroom so you had to go back to your room. No newspapers at breakfast. Nothing extra or special like we had come to expect from this chain. Beds were comfortable, rooms were clean, after 11 dogs and kids were quiet but prior to that hotel was noisy - including hearing noise above us.

Hotel was very nice and very comfortable. Yes normal wear and tear from a hotel to be expected but well above average experience. Rooms are quiet and never heard my neighbors will stay here again when I need a place to stay

This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in Erie. They gave me a room that faces a noisy highway. I had to stay there for the 10 nights I paid for. They kept promising to move me to a room that is on the other side of the hotel, but then they kept saying everything is sold out. I hardly got any sleep in my 10 day stay while I was working there. Their wifi is slow and signal is weak. But to top it all the last night I stayed there the AC system wasn’t even working properly. Take my advise and find something else, even if you have to pay a little extra. NEVER coming back here again!

I stayed in this hotel in May, and everything was just as clean as last time. There's a seal on the door to verify that the room has been cleaned and unopened before you arrive. I was so impressed this time because we found a stink bug in our room, and the nighttime manager quickly came up and got rid of it. When we asked for a new room, she gave it to us, no hassle! We were so appreciative. We had an important meeting the next day, so getting a nice sleep was essential and we didn't want to worry about getting bit by stink bugs or other bugs.
The new room was exactly the same and sealed off as well. The only thing that was off was that this room was closer to the highway and it was a little noisy, but we were appreciative of the quick room transfer that we didn't mind! Would love to come back to this place.

I believe they have some sort of restriction re weight which would probably leave the bigger breeds out. Best to call the hotel and check before you book.
There are more places to choose from in the Erie area.
