My wife and I have enjoyed most of our stays in the Hilton Hotel family. We always travel with our dog, he is my wife's emotional support animal, as she has several health issues, making her an easy victim for a mugger or such. The dog is 44 pounds and friendly, especially when with people that are nice to my wife.
We stayed in 2 Hiltons this fall and they waved the pet fee. Not only did this place charge a pet fee, but it was $75. That is $35 more than any of the fancier places that always change a fee. If I would have known we would have stayed somewhere else.
The room are nice, the place was clean, great kitchen but because of the exorbitant fee, we are not coming back.

Very dissatisfied with room and breakfast. Room had 1 towel and no bedding for pull out bed. Breakfast was a box breakfast with a childs yogurt tube and a tiny tangerine. I paid almost $200 for a room that i had to request bedding and towels!! I am grown man and expected not to have to go buy breakfast when website said continental breakfast. I don’t consider a childs yogurt and tangerine a continental breakfast. I shouldn’t have to request bedding and towels and you shouldn’t advertise continental breakfast. Also coffee had no creamer or lids available

When this place first opened, it was our go to stop on 14 hour 2 day drive, but each subsequent visit over the years has seen more and more little problems come up. Noise from HVAC or elevators, sounds from floor above, apathetic staff, decreasing options at breakfast. We still do it when the price is right but have found ourselves looking elsewhere. The location, relatively near the highway, close enough to a few passable restaurants, a short drive from Presque Isle, keep it in the rotation but we've been disappointed the last couple times.

Horrible hotel. Filthy rooms, bathroom had hair in corners with filthy corners. Dirty towels from previous guest left under cabinet, room did not have toilet paper or tissue in it. Wrappers and a piece of dog food on carpet. Beds were not changed from previous guests. Side table was chewed up from a dog. Dog friendly hotel. Floor dirty in front of refrigerator. Breakfast was terrible. Stale food, outdated milk. The waffle batter came out liquidity and had a green tone. Please look at pictures.

Stayed one night on our way to another destination. This is not a good Hilton property. Walls are paper thin and all the doors slam. Digital keys don’t work. Hotel clerk smelled like he took the marijuana train to work. Arrived at 10:30 pm lobby was dark and uninviting. No recognition of diamond status or offer of benefits. Disposable coffee cup had been used and left, there was still water in it. There are several Hilton properties at this exit we are usually extremely happy with Home2 but not this one.
Was very disappointing.

Traveling through for one night after visiting our daughter for her college graduation. There was poop on the toilet seat, toilet paper in the toilet, brown stuff all over the counter in the kitchen sink and trash left in all of the trash receptacles. I took pictures and videos of the filth. Management was not willing to comp us the difference for the king room that we booked to put us in a handicap accessible queen suite which we did not need because we were not handicap. She expected us to pay the same amount for a downgrade of a bed so we walked out. Avoid this place as it is not the first time we have had issues. A few weeks prior they had put us in a king room with a window without a blind so the sun light was shining in.

Bed was comfortable. But otherwise not even close to a normal good Hilton property experience. We arrived after midnight. Went up to room, and key cards didn’t work. Went back down to desk. The clerk (who turned out to be the only employee on site) re-coded them. Went back up to room. Key cards still didn’t work. Went back down to the desk. Clerk didn’t quite seem to believe us but came with us, with her master key, back up to the room. Key cards STILL didn’t work. Clerk used master key to open door. We were exhausted and said not to worry about the key cards because we didn’t expect to go in and out during the night. Room was missing the switch plate cover on the main switch right inside the room, also missing a pillow (3 on bed, we assume there should have been 4), missing trim around window, missing handle on one of drawer fronts in bathroom, shampoo holder in shower had broken off and not been fixed so shampoo bottle was on the counter, and sheets had visible pulls and snags all over. All of this for $253/night before all the taxes. Oh, and one of the plugs next to the bed was unusable when my husband tried to plug in his CPAP machine. Really not a good hotel.

I realize that the COVID-19 pandemic has forced hotels to change their operations to stay solvent while attracting customers.
My check-in process took over 25 minutes. I was the only person at the counter and asked for a top floor room. The clerk went to the elevators, said he needed to check the rooms. He came back a few minutes later, wrote down 5 room numbers on paper and left again. He came back 10 minutes later with an arm load of bed linens, said he had an emergency and proceeded to give me my room card. I find it amazing that he did not know which rooms were ready for that day.
The 'free' internet is the slowest I've ever used among any major hotel chain.
The bed sheets/pillowcases were so wrinkled I wondered if they were actually changed after the last guest. Has the pandemic made Hilton cut laundry costs by washing the sheets but not ironing them? Perception is not always reality but I think the wrinkled sheets gave a very negative impression of the Hilton chain.
Consider locating families with children on the same floor so they can entertain each other by running up/down the hall using it a playground. A family with 3 kids was placed across from us and the kids ran and screamed up and down the hall for over 30 minutes. Just what I want to hear.
You can do better than this chain in Erie.

Stayed for one night during the week when returning from NY State. This hotel has a worn look - stained carpeting, stained furniture, and a generally dirty appearance. This was a surprise, because we stayed the prior week in a Home 2 Suites near Buffalo that was pretty nice. The first room they gave us had not been made up, so we had to return to the desk to request another one. The bathroom had almost no toilet paper, there was no paper towel in the kitchenette, and the soap / shampoo dispensers in the shower were empty. The bedding was worn and old. There didn't appear to be any staff in the hotel except for the front desk, and there didn't appear to be any uniform dress requirements for the employees that were on duty other than super casual. There was no food available, even for purchase in the evening., and very limited breakfast food options the next morning.
I was pretty shocked the next morning to find a well dressed gentleman behind the desk who asked if we slept well. My wife explained that we were very disappointed with our stay and reiterated our complaints. The gentlemen (Tom) acknowledged our concerns and explained that he was an interim manager trying to implement improvements while being extremely short staffed. He reduced our room rate as consideration. Thus, two stars on this review instead of just one.
We would not stay at this hotel again without assurances that conditions had improved and will think twice about staying at Home 2 Suites hotels in the future despite being Hilton Honors members.

I was so disgusted with my recent stay at this property. I have stayed at numerous Home2Suites and have found them to be consistently clean and in good repair, so I booked at this hotel without reading the reviews first. BIG Mistake. On arrival, the bathroom was missing hand towels, a bathmat and tissues and I found crumbs on the nightstand. I was tired, and willing to deal with what I thought was minor inconveniences. Unfortunately,it wasnt until the next morning I found a used washcloth hanging in the shower and dirty wadded up towels under the sink. I let the front desk know about the state of my room at checkout. He wrote everything down, but who knows how or if the management follows up on these things. It was ironic that Hilton has stickers all over the mirrors and hotel rooms doors touting their cleanliness in the age of COVID. That did not happen here. I also noticed that the pull out couch in the room was very worn and that you sink when you sit in it. Obviously, they need to maintain and/or update the furniture. I will say that the employees that I interacted with at the front desk were very pleasant, which is the only reason I would give them more than one star on the rating scale.

Get the app Crime and Place if you have an iPhone. You can see by address. The Home2suites is in a very safe area which is why I chose it. Like most cities Erie is mixed.
As long as it's weather permitting. If its snowing outside, obviously you wouldn't want to sit out in a snow storm. But generally speaking, yes it is open year round to my knowledge. The gas grills are definitely seasonal though.
I would think so. As far as I know, as long as you have a credit card and are at least 18 years old, they should let you book a room. While, I do not know that for sure, I have never been to a hotel that discriminates against 18 year olds.
There are more places to choose from in the Erie area.
