Baymont Inn grounds and landscaping were clean and inviting. Hotel entry was open, bright and cozy offering plenty of seating, fresh coffee, vending and friendly, helpful associates directed you to your room amd offered the necessary information as tp location of room, wifi password and breakfast availability. Rooms were comfortable, supplied with all the necessities.

The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The location was great with the Presque Isle Casino directly across the road, a Sheetz next door, and only about 15 miles of easy driving to Presque Isle State Park. Breakfast offered a lot of choices. The staff were friendly. Everything looked clean, TV worked, and all plumbing worked too. The one thing I would've changed was I would ask for a room far away from the incessant bing bong of the elevator. I've never encountered that in a hotel before. It was pretty annoying and went late and started early.

This Baymont is one of the nicest mid-range hotels I've stayed at. It is very clean (rooms and public spaces), the rooms are large, and the beds are comfortable. The front desk and housekeeping staff we interacted with were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good (as far as free breakfasts go), with both hot and cold options. There was plenty of parking and it's in a safe & quiet area. Bonus - there is a Sheetz right across the street for gas and food. I have stayed here more than once and it is always a pleasant trip.

Didn't expect much for the price, and average is pretty much the experience we got for it. Hotel was understaffed but any staff we spoke to was very helpful, welcoming, and quick to fix things. The lobby/breakfast area was nice. There were some stained linens and the shower hadn't been deep cleaned in the corners but it didn't feel like a dirty room. THE ANNOYING: The TV glitched every night and we couldn't watch TV. The bed had two twin box springs pushed together for a king size mattress, leaving what feels like a divot in the center. That + thin pillows made for a not-so-good sleep.

BUT: it was cheap and everything we actually needed worked (fridge, shower pressure, AC, outlets, ice machine with good-tasting drinking fountain water.) We just wanted somewhere to throw our things, shower, sleep, and eat take-out for cheap so if you aren't planning on lingering around, it's fine

I booked two rooms April 6 to Apr 8, 2024 at this place almost an entire year earlier, because the Total Eclipse would be visible in Erie. Our confirmation documents stated:

Cancellation Policy: Our confirmation document clearly states- Cancel 24 Hours prior to arrival by 6 pm to avoid 1 Night charge plus applicable tax

On April 4, we could see that we would only require one room, so we called to cancel the other room. It was then that we were told we could not cancel because we were within three days of the eclipse event and their policy was not to cancel within three days of the event. (Meanwhile, they jacked up the prices for their rooms to over $500 for the eclipse to gouge potential last minute bookings. Why wouldn't they refund our paltry $124/ night to try selling at a higher price?)

To make a long story short, we ended up getting one night cancelled, but had to pay for the second night, even though the manager there said we would get both nights cancelled. We waited over one month, and still the second night was not credited to our credit card.

We disputed the charge to our credit card company after a month, but THEY denied our dispute, saying we would need a copy of the documentation regarding the cancellation policy (Which we have) and proof that we tried to cancel prior to one days notice (Which we don't have, since the hotel wouldn't LET us cancel) so we lose $124.

We paid for a room for one night that we never used, and that they probably double booked. No integrity from the manager of this establishment. BEWARE.

Definitely rethink this hotel!!!
We stayed here and we have never stayed in a worse hotel. There were 3 of us and we all felt the same.
When we first made our choice to stay there we felt welcome over the phone and when we checked in the Manager Lisa and the other staff made us feel the same way.
Upon going to our room we were very disappointed. One of the beds smelled and one of the sheets was dirty and smelled like body odor and the bedskirts were filthy on both beds. There were big balls for pillows and not all pillows had pillowcases.
We discussed this with the front desk and they switched our room to another one 4 doors away and did refund our first night. N the second
room one of the beds had blood on the sheet and the other one smelled like old salami. The lampshades were stained as well.
We had made arrangements to go on the riverboat cruise which was recommended by the manager Lisa and she said we could have the shuttle take us down to the lake and pick us up afterwards. When we went to tell the front desk that we would need the shuttle it was suddenly nonexistent. We heard from others outside of the hotel that there are always promises made and never kept by the management there.
We tried to get in touch with Lisa many times but it was as if she was avoiding us. Not very professional at all in my opinion.
I would never stay at this location again and definitely would never suggest to anyone not to make the same mistake.

I’ll start by sharing we travel, A LOT. We are Diamond Hilton Members and would have stayed at the local HomeWood Suites, but they were booked with summer travel. No problem, went with this hotel. Bad decision. I grew up in Erie, you aren’t going to find high end hotels like big cities, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get good customer service or comfort. We lacked both, I’ll focus on the comfort. I called the mattress to be something Fred Flintstone would love, ridiculously uncomfortable. Pillows were non existent for any support. Luckily I had beach towels to help, but overall little to no sleep. And the room did not reek of a good cleaning, so that part was questionable as well.

Customer service at Wyndham contacts me to say they will provide feedback to the hotel. And what does that do for me $400 plus dollars later? Not impressed with the company nor can I recommend this particular hotel. I have no plans to return to a Wyndham chain in the future.

The hotel entryway was  nice enough, and I was able to check in online so that our keys were waiting for us, which was very convenient. The front desk lady was super nice and friendly. Our room was on the first floor, which was nice. But honestly, they should check every room every day for things that might need to be replaced.  There were stains in different places in the room, on the lamp and other places. (See pictures). The mattress cover was too small for the matress, as were the sheets, so we basically slept on the mattress. Which I hated. There were 4 very tiny pillows. I had asked for extra pillows, but we didn't get any.
The toilet seat had a crack in it, and when I sat down, it pinched my left butt cheek hard. (TMI, I know) It still hurts.  Things like that make a huge difference in a hotel stay. The free breakfast was actually pretty good. There were scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages,  pancakes, waffles, biscuits and gravy, toast, cereal, fruit, mini muffins, and juice. If there had been potatoes, it would have elevated the breakfast significantly. We were supposed to stay there again on our way back next week, but I decided to cancel that, and I booked a different place. The toilet seat and the fact that I basically slept on a mattress with no cover truly did annoy me enough that I don't want to stay there again.

I have no idea how is this property got their 8ish score on Booking. It was very mediocre even for that type of hotels. The worst pillows I ever had even in cheaper places! No minimum soundproofing but very noisy location ( gas station is right across the street). Breakfast is a separate story. They serve the breakfast 6-9. Coffee is disgusting ( taste like that gas station maybe deliver it), scrambled eggs are dense and distasteful, yogurt sticks your teeth together. I didn't expect any fancy food but it was below all my "not expecting". The goodness of location depends what you're looking for. It is far from Presque Isle or Downtown but across the casino.

This was the worst hotel ever the sheets were not changed, smelled like stinky bad b.o. and the sheet was thin like a piece of cheesecloth. We changed rooms and were credited for the one night then we went to the other room the bedding was not clean either there was blood on the sheets and some sort of white stuff on the bed skirt. The one bed smelled like bad salami.
Lisa Leehan the wanna be manager hid from us after promising us that we could have a shuttle service from her son so we booked a boat excursion and was wanting to get the shuttle but no sign of Lisa or her son. We asked numerous times for Lisa to contact us and she avoided us and at one time hid in her office. We called after our stay many times to reach Lisa and she avoided us everytime. The staff has also had it with the Manager Lisa and said that she does this often. We finally after blocking our number got through to her and she lied to us about the wonderful promises she made. Avoid this place at all costs. Sleeping in someone elses stinky sheets not only in one room but two rooms is a big red flag. I will contact Lisas superior Jill and also head office. No excuses for this at all!!!!!

It's about 12 miles... but can take from 15 to 30 minutes to get there on the thruway, depending on time of day.. if you stay there (hotel) use google maps to fine a " back street route, it could be you best bet.

Nice room, not a suite. Comfortable and clean. Good hotel and free breakfast. Last time in Erie we stayed over at Red Roof Inn about 200 yards away. Cheaper and a nice clean comfortable room and hotel gave us voucher for breakfast at McDonalds beside hotel.
