Beautifully situated wth the Allegheny mountains as a background, Penn National provides a stay and play package that takes all the stress out of planning a golf outing. The courses are in great shape, the personnel extremely hospitable, the food great, and the rooms clean and comfortable. For non-golfers, Chambersburg and Gettysburg are close by.

This was second year we visited. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Rooms were clean and roomy. All the rooms are nonsmoking, had to hold breath to get through front door on a few occasions. Golf was great and again staff is friendly and helpful. With temps in the high 90s, course rangers were around every 4-5 holes with ice and...

I had to travel to this area for business and wanted to also get in a round of golf. I found Penn National on the internet and it said that you could also stay on property. I called the office and they booked a one night stay for me and the two other people I was traveling with. They have...

Just got home from our annual trip to Penn National (just our 2nd). I've been all over the world, playing golf and this is, by far, the best value for "real golfers". The sleeping rooms are very clean ( think Penn State Dorms), the staff is very accommodating, the menus are varied but best to stick with standard menu fare....

Stayed for 2 nights and 2 rounds of golf. Package included 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners and golf. Good value, staff exceptionally welcoming. Facilities good, a little maintenance to carpet in common areas is needed. Rooms were large and comfortable. Meals good, not a large selection for dinner with the package. I would return again.

Penn National provides an ideal "stay and play" package for golfers wanting the opportunity to play two different courses at one venue. The rooms are clean, but dated. Each building can house up to 16 golfers, which makes for a great group trip, if that is what you are looking for. The restaurant works well, the breakfast buffet is sufficient....

Have spent at least the last 16 years with the Bean group in September. Cannot say anything but good things about the entire staff. Food, good and varied. Quality of the two courses excellent. In addition, beautiful scenery. Do it.

No, it's not the classiest of accommodations, but it's clean and comfortable and each floor has a common area to play post-round cards, board games or just socialize. As others mentioned, this is a BYOB place, which works in their favor. They'll uncork your own wine for dinner and ice down beer for the round if you wish. I love...

Played the Founder Course and really thought it had a great layout. There is no alcohol sold on site as it is a dry town. But you are welcome to bring your own beer and they will supply you with coolers and ice. There is also another course on site (iron forge) Did not play but will be back..

Golf packages represent an excellent value. The golf courses are very good, 4 star. The acomodations are more than adequate, but certainly not plush. A high end Holiday Inn in terms of acomodations. The only negative is the food, which is adequate, but not an attraction at all. Our group of 8 to 12 golfers have stayed at many resorts...
