Great location and great staff who speaks enough English to be very helpful. I had a private room with bathroom because the price was great and low. Very modern bathrooms with hot showers. Easy to find. A direct bus from bus station to there and a change from train station. Also great town to visit.

Arrived late at night and got an okay-priced (for New Year) bed. The bed was hard but that seems standard in southern Yunnan, I've not had better anywhere south of Dali, and the room was well-equipped in general with a bedlamp and plug socket. The hostel does free coffee between 9:30 and 11am which is nice but other than that...

The hostel is pretty much finished with only some decorative touches to make it more cosy. I found the staff very helpful and able to speak English. The address has changed to 89 Ruyi Lane, Lin 'an road Jianshui. +86-0873-7652451. The dorm beds are a bit hard but the location is very good very near th Confucius temple. It's just...

The rooms are clean, the hostel is located conveniently in the town center and the house is beautiful. Sadly the bathrooms were not so clean and the showers only had cold water. This hostel closes it's gates at midnight and open them again at 7 a.m.. We only stayed a night so this was ok for us. If we had...

This lovely old building in the heart of the ancient town seemed an ideal choice for us. The rooms were large, the beds were clean ( if a little hard as seems the way with Chinese beds) as was the bathroom. the surroundings were lovely but the staff (and I mean management, not the cleaning staff) were unfriendly to the...

This place is a good option for spending a day or two in Jianshui. It is located in what was a residential house in the past, do it has a special atmosphere, different from a typical hotel. The location is also good, in a residential neighborhood, but still very close to the center of the city. The staff were friendly,...

This has been a great place to stay: the staff speak good English and the accommodation is good value and very attractive. It is in a quiet street right in the heart of the old town. You can walk to the all the historic buildings easily (and also to the great 'farmers' markets and street restaurants). We liked it so...
