I am usually satisfied with the very simplest of hostels, such as the ones with just a bed and no a/c. Even a shared bath. But this place was reserved by a friend who HAD to have a/c, so I figured if she was paying, why not enjoy it? :D We shared the room, and since there was only one...

Was lucky to get a reservation last minute for us and friends over NYE however in doing so I maybe missed some details that hindered our full experience. THE PROS as per many listed the location was great, breakfast included which we found fulfilling, Ray was very hospitable, rooms were clean although a bit aged, bed was comfortable. We also...

We spent one night at the B&B, we did not have a reservation but were able to get a room. The room was clean and had a shared bathroom on the side. It was very loud in the room due to street parties which you can't avoid in December but that with the owners TV was too much. The staff...

We spent 3 nights at this great B & B and loved getting to know the other guests and Ray, the owner. Our room had a queen sized bed and Ray brought in a cushion for our daughter to use for her bed on the floor. It wasn't ideal but since we weren't in the room much and had access...

I have stayed at The Secret Cove Inn twice in the past three years for a total of 5 weeks. Very affordable American quality B&B with lots of local touches. They have done some nice upgrades over the past 3 years as you can see from the photos. The family that runs the Inn are very well informed and helpful...

The Secret Cove Inn was perfect for us. They have four rooms, the two on each side of the house share one bathroom. We got lucky and there was no one else on our side so we had the bathroom to ourselves. The owner, Ray, is American and it was nice to be able to communicate easily. His grandson Jeremy...

You'll be hard pressed to find a better value than the Secret Cove. SJDS has a lot of cheap hostels (targeted towards the younger partying crowd) but less in the mid-range. When I first came to Nicaragua/SJDS in 2012, I searched pretty much the whole town looking for a good balance between clean/comfortable and affordable and was not disappointed here....

Ray and his staff are wonderful people. I visited San Juan Del Sur four times between 2012 and 2013 and the Secret Cove is by far the best fit for me. I am a budget traveler and appreciate the balance between price and amenities. They offer: Wifi, Cable TV, free calls to US and Canada, free coffee and a Nica...

My girlfriend and I stayed here for three nights and liked it a lot. We had a large double room with two fans and adjoining bathroom (we shared with the room next door). They had an electric shower for hot water which worked ok. There was mosquito protection on the window to keep out the bugs. Breakfast is included in...

I really liked this place. The room my wife and I stayed in was large, comfortable, and well decorated. It also had windows to the outside (which seem to be hard to come by in NI). The location is kind of tucked away inconspicuously in the center of town in a well decorated house. The owner and his family were...
