Great trip and great place to stay. Offered us surfing lessons and stayed out in the water even though it was FREEZING. Everyone was so friendly, including the security guard at night and the lovely dog. Clean, comfortable, and an easy walk to restaurants, the beach, etc. Highly recommend.

Great place, very central, few minutes from the beach, restaurants and bars but quite enough for a good night sleep. The family (with their newborn baby and a beautiful dog), were very helpful and friendly. I live in Leon and I will definitely go back to SJDS and Casa Ariki!!!! Ciao

Great place that is walkable to everything and in a pretty safe barrio. There is a security guard at night, which makes you feel good. There is private, locked parking if you have a car. The aircondintioning was AMAZING. Well stocked kitchen for cooking, close to the beach and bars, close to the market, close to the park and busses....

Great place at a great price. The room and bathroom were very clean. I felt very safe leaving my belongings in my room. The location is very convenient to everything around town. Baldo and Sara are very friendly and informative about the city. Highly recommend.

For our initial visa run, we chose San Juan del Sur and Casa Ariki. The location was good, close in, but not in the middle of town. We had the large room and, thankfully, opted for AC. The room was very clean and the cold water shower wasn't much of a problem, given that it was so very hot! The...

The hosts Sara and Baldo are great people and run a very nice hostel with many additional services. My room was large, clean with a comfy bed and option of fan or AC. The house is just close enough to town to allow easy access to everything but far enough away that you can escape what some nights becomes overwhelming...

We took the large room with the AC and private bath. Reasonable price. Very clean. Owners were helpful with information. We stayed here two nights and were very sad to leave the AC. Close to the center of town, on a safe/quiet street. Lots of perros son popos (small salamanders) but that keeps the ants away. Wifi worked excellently too....

You will not regret staying here! I was nervous at first because I was thinking that I wanted to avoid the typical "budget" hostel-type lodging situation in lieu of a more posh hotel, but this place FAR exceeded my expectations. I would go back here in a second, not only because you get to stay in well-kept rooms for a...

So close to town and the best hosts you could ever ask for! The rooms are very comfortable and the AC keeps things cool in the hot weather. And if you want to do any exploring, they'll point you in the right direction
