Came to San Juan and struggled to find accomodation without booking ahead and ended up in a cosy dorm (6 beds) at Yajure. Receptionist at the hostel didn't speak any English which made things slightly more difficult but others staying at the hostel offered to help translate. Wanted to surf in San Juan but came in windy season and weather... More

We booked this hostel right on the beach thinking we'd have the surf close by. But you can't surf in San Juan so you have to take a shuttle other beaches. Not what we had thought. That's one of the reasons we were disapointed in this hostel, they say they are a surfschool located right on the beach. A bit... More

The location could not be better. Situated right on the beach and a short walk along a well-lit and restaurant lined main road into town. However, despite this I would not recommend this hostel to my worst enemy! Chelly (the owner) is one of the most despicable human beings I have ever met. He steals from his guests, and I... More

Chillie is a fantastic host. I like this place so much that i stayed a month. Frecuent day trips to the surf spot. The hostel is basically a mantion turned into a hostel. It got a pool, good staff, good security and a close walk to town.

Good hostel, full of great people both hosts and guests. Great place to stay in San Juan. Helpful and knowledgeable team, will help you make the most of your stay. The pool is a bonus too! This is the place to stay if you have to San Juan to surf!

It's a nice hostel with fun things to do around the house, but soon as they notice that you don't spend enough money there on the bar or surf trips or whatever, they trow you out,.. The guy at the receptionist with the beard is the worst of them,.. Always playing on his phone and if you ask something he... More

We picked this place cause we wanted AC when we came back to sjds. Unfortunately the power was out for half the time we were there (the whole town, this isn't yajure's fault). Still, the hostel was great. Big, clean pool, nice bar, ping pong tables, big chilling area outside, hammocks, etc. The kitchen was great too, we grilled up... More

Beachfront, simple, nice pool but young crowd that nostly smokes, talks on cellphone and types on computers all day.Oscar at reception really made it a better stay and it was nice to get laundry done. It may be great if you are a young surfer but otherwise, older guests may wish to look elsewhere.

I stayed here for 5 days about 2 weeks ago and had a wonderful experience. I was a bit put off by the initial reviews but a friend from Costa Rica greatly recommended it. Maybe my experience was better because Chely was not there my entire stay. My first night was a bit of a mess though with massive ants... More

“I have only stayed in the 6 bed dorm, but it was great enough that there was no need to switch it up. I think that this is the best that is gets as far as the sound of San Juan at night. The common room can get sort of loud from the bars downtown blasting music but the rooms are great!”
