We stayed here for the second time and it was nice and clean with a decent location. Plenty of movies to choose from, a small but refreshing swimming pool and a hearty breakfast (great pancakes) There is also airconditioning and hot water for a great value. Will be back!

Stayed there for a couple of days. Decent and clean rooms, very good bathrooms and AC, and good but ordinary breakfast. Owner and extended family are very nice and helpful if you have questions. The hotel has a little swimming pool and common areas to hang out or just to relax in a hammock. This is not a party hotel...

Walking through the streets of San Juan del Sur can feel like going through one big surfing/NGO frat party. Villa Isabella is a wonderful respite, set back just enough from all the action, by about two to three blocks. The owners, Mike and Jane, were wonderful hosts. Knowing we had a small child, they set us up in Room 7,...

This was one of several return visits and I again found Villa Isabella to be clean, comfortable, and completely enjoyable. With air conditioning and real two-valve hot water (not to be taken for granted in this region) this was about the first, and remains one of the best choices for US-level comfort and security in the area. Best of all...

The Hotel is owned by a Californian who spends lots of time at the hotel and is a great source of knowledge on nearly restaurants, beaches, tours and general info on Nicaragua. The rooms are clean and spacious and quiet. The inclusive breakfast is American style filling and tasty and the service is excellent. The hotel has Wi-fi and a...

Forget anything negative you've read about Mike being a jerk, because for us, that certainly was not the case. We loved him, just like the hotel. After a crappy night in another highly ranked "hotel" (who shall remain nameless), this was just what the doctor ordered. Great, clean rooms, nice refreshing pool, delicious breakfast and way friendly staff, we almost...

We stayed at Villa Isabella for the entire month. It was clean, had friendly and helpful staff, and tasty breakfast. My whole family also enjoyed the pool, relaxed atmosphere, and delicious coffee. It is perfectly located for walking down to all the shops, restaurants, and of course, amazing San Juan sunsets. We felt well taken care and the staff was...

I just returned home 3/18/2012. What a nice surprise and such warm hospitality, clean rooms, wonderful breakfast. An over all pleasant experience, the owner/manager a real hands on person, in total control of this delightful place. You may call him Mr. Mike. Thank you Sir for everything, your establiment shows your dedication. Martha

We just visited San Juan del Sur as a family of 7. We stayed at the Hotel Villa Isabella and had an amazing stay. The staff bent over backyards to accomodate us and the made to order breakfasts were fantastico! Our 5 kids loved the small pool - just perfect for cooling off during the afternoon and the variety of...

“The front second floor has a balcony but a bit more traffic noise. Room 1 is my favorite as its nestled inside the complex. You can pick from regular rooms to complete apartments. If you struggle doing stairs, make sure you are on the main floor or the outside second floor. The inside 2nd floor is very steep and small steps for someone that is a lot more unsteady. However Edwin is always happy to do what you need including packing and carrying everything you might need.”
