Agree with previous reviews that food is excellent but room we had was badly in need of refurbishment and shower tiles required cleaning. Room 11 had bath in room - sounded nice when spoke to person on booking but room was too small for this and we would have preferred somewhere to sit comfortably. Grossly overpriced.

We stayed for one night in Room 12. Excellent quiet room. The staff were very friendly, helpful and provided efficient service. We had dinner and breaksat - the food was excellent and we particularly enjoyed the kippers and haddock option at breakfast. Highly recommend.

We stayed here for one night while touring this area. Chose it randomly but we were very pleased with our stay. The room was a little quirky and not that big but clean and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant/bar. Food was very good as was breakfast next morning. We'd stay again

Stayed at this hotel just for one night, and had a pleasant, but average stay. The building itself is beautiful, the sort of hotel that I really like, old and full of character. The check in process is in the bar area, so very public, especially in the evening when people are eating and drinking on there. It was quick...

What could have been a nice stay was spoiled by being charged for silly things like a small glass of milk to have with tea in the room. It's more the principle than the money..... having been part of a large group who spent thousands £ there the evening before.

Hi Stephen Please let me apologise as it is not our standard practice to charge residents for fresh milk to have with their beverages in the room. I am sure this was a misunderstanding on the part of the staff who served you. Hopefully we will see you again in the future and I am sure this will not happen...

Visited on Saturday night, booked club room for £75 including breakfast, the room was lovely, nice decor, bathroom was small but well furnished and clean, bathrobes provided which is a nice touch. Hairdryer and hair straighteners also supplied along with coffee/tea and delicious flapjacks! The young man who greeted us on reception was very professional and friendly, breakfast was good,...

Had our Bridge Club Christmas lunch here and it was very good. The service was quick and well organised. They were quite busy with another group and other diners but they were very attentive and accommodating. We had pre-ordered our meals from their Christmas menu which had a range of choices for each course. The food was served promptly and...
