Very old hotel with low ceilings and quaint features. Rooms are accessed via a creaky staircase and corridor that undulates along the length of the building. Friday night entertainment was a bit load for those wanting an early start.Could do with a good tidy up but a great base to operate from. Food in the bar was reasonable and hot....

The staff were friendly enough, just what got me was the food was tough and cold, sorry but won't be going there again 😔, then you had people loitering around me with trackies and hoddies while I ate, sorry again just I did not enjoy this pub much, therefore not going to give this a high rating...

I've been here 2 weeks now and it's located only two miles away from Stonehenge and Its in a nice little town with plenty of fast food if you don't want to eat the food in the hotel! Their is also a normal meal bar in one section of the hotel and in the other section theirs a sports bar...

We found the hotel to be badly in need of refurbishment and even more in need of a good clean. Our bedroom was spacious (four poster) but with wallpaper peeling, paint work cracking and mould on the windows. Always be suspicious of bedrooms displaying ageing artificial flowers! I found the price of the rooms over priced. The staff were friendly...

If you like pub grub, this is the place. the food was hot and plenty full and worth a visit. Its big place so you will always get a table. If you have not been to amesbury its worth a few hours. try the museum just down the road its very good and free.

Quintessential Old English Pub/Hotel with great charm its own Aeronautical museum, great staff, good food squeaky floor boards, squeaky beds steeped in tradition so close to Old Sarum and Stonehenge if this sounds good to you go there. If not stay in a Premier Inn.

From the outside it looked lovely thats where it ends! Stayed 2 nights, if they hadn't taken payment on arrival would have looked for somewhere else!! First thing I noticed was mould on the wall, tried to hide it with the chest of drawers, checked behind them and and it was filthy with cobwebs and dust and god knows what...

Convenient location and friendly staff. But... while at these prices you don't expect The Ritz, you still expect the basic minimum of a clean room. Dirty furniture, mould on the walls, other people's hair in the bath, filthy cobwebs everywhere, mugs and coffee tray hadn't been washed. The place is dirty. The price included a free breakfast but we declined,...

From the brochure and the outside, this historic hotel looks quite attractive. But there it ends! The hotel is dirty and scruffy. The rooms are in need of refurbishment - the ceiling our bathroom was very mouldy, and the bathroom smelled (room 21). The room was tatty, and could have been much cleaner. The stairs and corridors are dirty, and...

This hotel / pub / bar is ideal if you wish to stay local and visit Stonehenge. We paid £75 for a double room which as you read was a bit on the high side. Stayed for a joint anniversary and party and another guest was able to get away with £50 for a room for 3. Booking over the...
