What an absolutely outstanding hotel. From the initial warm welcome from the receptionist, every member of staff gave us exceptional service but Danka who served us at breakfast was outstanding and deserves a special mention. There were 2 very big tables ordering their breakfast as we sat down and Danka was very patient with them as they asked so many questions, which did entertain us whilst we were waiting. She was really friendly and very professional and a real asset to the team. Considering the large group ahead of us our breakfasts arrived in a timely manner. The granola, yoghurt and damsons from the garden was lovely and the eggs royale superb. We saw Danka at reception as we were checking out and thanked her for the fantastic service she gave us and she asked if I wanted some flowers to take home, as they had hosted a wedding and had lots of flowers. What a lovely gesture! The 3 course meal we had was also delicous and the additional amuse buche and pre dessert were a lovely surprise. The rooms were huge with a super big comfy bed and it was so quiet, we had a lovely sleep. The hotel is set in lovely grounds and we had a couple of nice walks around the area which was very pretty. An exceptional stay and we will be back. Thank you everyone.

Excellent location, supberb service, relaxed comfort, but above all delicious, generous afternoon tea. Photo does not do justice to the quality and flavours on we enjoyed. From coronation chicken finger sandwich to tiny crisp, sharp lemon tart and warm homemade scones, two each. We notice others having to take some home but we were up to tge challenge. We will come again.

My wife and I visited for the first time recently for dinner, bed and breakfast to celebrate her retirement that day. It’s a lovely place, the food was fantastic and all the staff were really helpful and attentive, especially Danka, who looked after us very well at breakfast.

Beautiful surroundings . Very yummy food . Pristinely clean all round . Wonderful staff . How ever what let it down for me was that the room we were put in seemed to be a thorough fair, for workmen and new arrivals . As we are sat there munching on our scrummy food several people ( with staff ) wonder through the room ! All very off putting . And this happened a good 9 times ! Trying to ignore all of that my friend and I Clearly stayed too long ( for the hotel ) because as each person left their tables the staff then started clearing , removing everything even the table cloths and cleaning them right next to us . Kind of made me feel a tad uncomfortable and made us finish quicker than we really wanted to , to be honest ! I would only recommend it if your in a rush , straight in straight out it will be fine , but if you want to relax , chat , and enjoy the experience then I wouldn’t really say it’s for you !! Such a shame 😕

Dear caz42nothappy Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a review following your recent afternoon tea with ourselves. Its lovely to read that you enjoyed many aspects of the tea including the food and and our team, I'm sorry that the library wasn't to your liking and in relation to clearing of tables I can assure you that this is done in no way as a method of making people leave we just feel that tables should be cleared upon guests departing as a matter of course but also to enable use by other guests or residents. We hope to be able to welcome you back again in the future. Kind regards Craig Routledge General Manager

Think this was our third visit, and as this is a review of the Hotel, not a moan at dining or afternoon tea, I'm happy to say that it remains a very nice place to stay. Couple of non-intrusive personalised emails before visit, followed by a warm welcome and quick check-in made a good impression. Room was spacious very nicely furnished and fulfilled my two most important requirements for a room, proper curtains and quiet. If I can't have a comfortable nights sleep nothing else is going to compensate. Large bathroom and all the luxuries you could expect. Breakfast was very pleasant, good service and plenty of it. Location is lovely in superb parkland with fabulous trees. This was a mid-week visit and I guess it might be different if there was a big wedding/event on but altogether a pleasant stay.

Brexit and the pandemic did not make life easy for any of Britain’s hotels. Brockencote Hall was no exception, but it has now capitalised on an unexpected opportunity that the double whammy threw up. The Worcestershire hotel, renowned for its grand rooms and fine dining, found itself switching from a largely European workforce to a British one And this meant the hotel no longer needed to use its gatehouse as staff accommodation. The gatehouse has now been transformed into Brockencote Lodge, a perfect retreat for both bridal parties and families, adding another string to the hotel’s bow. The attractive, two-storey property has three spacious and sumptuous ensuite bedrooms with all the features you would expect from a luxurious hotel, plus an open plan lounge and kitchen-diner. Brockencote Hall is super busy with weddings and the lodge is already proving popular with bridaL parties the night before the big day and with happy couples after their nuptials, and it was plain to see why during my family’s overnight stay. The first floor bedroom has a dressing room where brides can check every inch of their dress and an enormous double shower that’s perfect for the bride and groom on their first morning as man and wife. There’s also a lovely sun-trap garden with a large patio and a wood-fired hot tub where the bride and her bridesmaids can enjoy a night of bubbles and bubbly before the big day in total privacy. Should guests not want to cook their own dinner they can choose from a selection of meals to be delivered to their door. Alternatively, of course, they can indulge at the hotel’s Chaddesley Restaurant. A Jaguar is on hand at all times of the day and night to ferry guests the short distance between the lodge and the hotel. As our visit proved, the lodge is also a great base for a family break. Our two kids loved the hot tub, of course, as well as their palatial bedrooms and complimentary chocolates and biscuits. They also made friends with the horses in the adjacent field. Just one mile away is the beautiful Harvington Hall, a moated Elizabethan manor house with the country’s largest surviving series of priest holes and impressive Elizabethan wall hangings. Within a 15-minute drive are the Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings in Bromsgrove, and both the West Midland Safari Park and the Severn Valley Railway heritage line in Kidderminster. There’s also Hartlebury Castle (historic home of the Bishops of Worcester turned county museum) and the Falconry Centre at West Hagley, offering flying displays and handling opportunities. Ever so slightly further afield are the Clent Hills, the Waseley Hills, Bodenham Arboretum, the River Severn at Bewdley and the National Trust rock houses at Kinver Edge.

Wow! Service, ambience and food absolutely perfect. I visited Brockencote to celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee with friends and family. Brockencote had arranged a stunning seven course afternoon tea, beautifully served and presented. The knowledgeable and friendly staff were attentive, but not overbearing. The event was graciously hosted by the General Manager, who took the time to welcome guests with an opening speech. The entertainment was perfect - I even asked for their card. The room was tastefully decorated with candelabras and fresh flowers - stunning. Hospitality at its best - well done Brockencote!

We stayed at this hotel on the basis that its restaurant had 3 AA rosettes. Sadly it felt more like a 1 rosette restaurant - the food, whilst well cooked, was bland and lacked any imagination. Staff were clearly stretched - we were told that they had 9 vacancies that they were trying to fill. The hotel’s tableware was mass catering vitrified white porcelain. The glassware was poor - I wouldn’t serve a glass of sparking water in one of their thick glass “champagne” flutes let alone a glass of Veuve Cliquot rose champagne. It was at this point that the lady serving at the bar commented that they needed to have hard-wearing glasses/ tableware because the wedding guests kept dropping them! Indeed, she commented that they are in the main an events venue. I think this makes sense because whilst we were there they were hosting a wedding reception and earlier in the day a large birthday party. You could also imagine them hosting conferences because the bedrooms felt quite corporate. The bedrooms, whilst very clean and comfortable, lacked any personal touches. The whole place lacks soul. We discussed all of our comments with the general manager who didn’t seem particularly interested and could only offer “Covid” as the reason. I would like to point out that they gave us a complimentary upgrade on the room ( worth £25) and waived the 10% service charge on the dinner ( another £25 reduction) but I have to say that at over £400 for one night’s dinner bed and breakfast, it really wasn’t worth it.

Dear Stephanie U Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review following your recent overnight stay. As discussed prior to your departure I am extremely saddened to learn of your disappointment and whilst we have had to make some adjustments to our offering, I truly believe that in no way has this diminished our guest experience or taken away our soul as you say. Hopefully the many 5 star reviews we have received to date since our reopening can reaffirm this. With regards to staffing shortages the figures quoted are simply incorrect and as discussed in part the reason of our phased opening is to ensure that this in no way impacts our guest experience. If you feel that I only felt the need to blame COVID then please accept my apologies as this was in no way my intention it was simply apart of our conversation, we’ve all been through incredibly challenging times but we now have to look to the future and ensuring our guests once again have memorable experiences. Please be assured that your feedback has been taken on board, I truly hope we have the opportunity of welcoming you back to Brockencote Hall again in the future where we can hopefully restore your faith. Kind regards Craig Routledge General Manager
