We ate here on a Friday evening. The place was absolutely packed so booking is a must. Waitress service very helpful and friendly, couldn't do enough for us. Starters were excellent, we had the humous and tzatziki dips; duck( terrine and cold breast) and cauliflower fritters with curry dipping sauce, all really good and tasty. Mains were excellent, particularly the sea bass special served with pea risotto and local asparagus, topped with chorizo balls, really flavoursome. The dessert sharing platter was good although the sticky toffee pudding was a disappointment. Overall a great eating experience and one we will definitely repeat.
Food was beautiful and use local produce There accommodation is 10 out of 10. Staff are friendly and can't do enough for you. Very clean and great atmosphere. Will be returning every time we are in the area
We have eaten here a lot recently and are always pleased with the food and service -however I felt obliged to write another review based in last Saturday night's food - absolutely beautiful. Local asparagus and duck egg to start - I couldn't get enough of it. My husband had the Pittas with hummus and taramasalata - always a favourite of ours. He then had the lamb special which was delicious and I had the hake special - both perfectly cooked. I must have told the waitress a thousand times how lovely the food was ! Service is always good - the right amount of time between courses and drinks served promptly. You really should give this place a try - you won't be disappointed and we will definitely be back again.
We went to the chequers after finding the old chestnut in closed!! Pub was quiet but we had a delicious lunch and the owner/chef was very friendly. Fish and chips and the sausages and mash were really lovely. A good find
if you are looking for a quiet room in a country pub this may not be for you. we have just had a 3 night stay, two of which we were kept awake until 2 in the morning. on one night there was a party under our room with loud music reverberating around the ancient timber beams and on another night thundering footsteps back and fore along the creaky corridor outside our room. it is, as a member of staff told me, a pub with rooms but they were gracious enough to concede that we had a very disturbed stay and reduced their charge. We are so lucky to have such an amazing local pub. The atmosphere in the bar is always great, the food is amazing - restaurant standard, not just your average pub food, with a great variety of different dishes. We are always made to feel really welcome and love visiting. Recommend to absolutely everyone!
Following a walk in the glorious Worcestershire, countryside, we were ready for traditional pub hospitality. The most deliciously tasty and tender beef and horseradish sauce in a baguette, washed down with a pint of quality real ale, was a great find. I should imagine the pub really buzzes in the evening, although this Thursday lunchtime it was chilly and quiet. We'll have to try it one evening!
We called in twice while staying in Fladbury. On both occasions to dine. The food is excellent and very good value, the selection of beers and wines is also very good. Both the staff and the locals where very nice. The whole décor and atmosphere in side is lovely especially the old big range with the sign Feed Me. We will definitely be back in future.
Came here with friends who live in the village. A really friendly place with a warm welcome.......even for the well behaved dog who sat under the table we had asked for in case others didn't like it! Had the cod and chips.......some of the best I've ever tasted! One of the party had pork belly......also excellent. There was a specials board as well as the main menu . Also had a lovely dish of whitebait and garlic mayo to start......also excellent. I shall suggest we go there again next time I'm in the area.
Our family wish to thank the hard-working staff at the Chequers for a lovely weekend break. The welcome was warm, meals delicious and atmosphere friendly. Fladbury is a picturesque village, and the Chequers compliments the beautiful surroundings.
