My wife and I had a 3 night stay at this hotel as I was attending a training course in area. I would usually stay at a Premier Inn as you know what you are getting with them but decided to stay at the Stourport Manor as it looked good from the pictures The hotel is very tired and is in need of a complete renovation - even the driveway off the main road into the carpark was in need of major repair Our room was on the top floor in the main part of the manor which in theory sounds nice but in reality it was cramped as you are up in the eves. The last flight of stairs up to the top floor is a bit treacherous with very narrow and steep steps. I get that its an old building but should have had some warning signs just from a health and safety point of view. We kept finding hair everywhere in the room, pubes in the bathroom and long hairs on the window seal and on the furniture. There was also a lot of cob webs. The shower was decent though We used the gym and pool on the first night. the gym had no water dispenser and the only way to get water was to walk down the corridor where some guy was sat behind a desk who went off (out of sight) and filled up our water bottles. When he filled mine up he bought it back in holding it by the top of the neck of the bottle where I would drink from which I found unbelievable. You also collect your locker key and towel from this guy. He wasn't particularly friendly and asking him for a towel or filling up the water bottles felt like we were annoying him as he had to actually do something. When my wife asked him for a towel the response was 'most people bring their own' to which the response to that should have been 'this is a hotel right?' The pool was ok but the jacuzzi was creating very large amounts of froth and foam and when i stepped into it I nearly slipped over as there are a couple of steps inside but you can't see them because of all the foam. The steam room had cracked and damaged tiles and the shower between the steam and sauna had a broken temperature control. When adjusting it it nearly came off in my hand revealing a sharp looking metal edge behind it. It felt that health and safety in the pool area was non existent. We did have the pool booked for the following 2 nights but didn't use it or the gym again. We ate in the restaurant on the first evening. I had a burger and my wife had the chicken salad. We also ordered a couple of drinks which took quite a while to arrive. When the food turned up I had to point out that i had been given the wrong burger so that went back. My wife's chicken salad was awful. The leaves were manky and the chicken like rubber. Even the waitresses were embarrassed and we got it chalked off the bill. We ate out in the evenings after that. The staff at the hotel were lovely Overall, the hotel needs a renovation. It could be great but right now its so tired which is a shame since the location is very good. Does this hotel have a manager? it feels completely unmanaged with the staff just going about doing their work.

We have stayed a number of times at this hotel. It gives us quick access to the Severn Valley Railway that we frequent three times a year. The staff are always friendly, rooms are a good size and there is a good selection for breakfast.

I was very disappointed with my room, dust and stray hairs in corners, cob Web on ceiling, mould behind tap, very tired shower head. I had to ask for fresh towels on arrival as there was a random dark hair in the fold. No sockets near bedside for charging. I felt the food was over priced for what it was. My company paid for me to be here as a benefit but I strongly debated just making the drive home, only tiredness stopped me. The staff were extremely friendly and lady on reception was very apologetic about the towel but I would echo other comments saying the hotel is dated and is lacking attention to detail.

This was a gift from my mum and sister . We had to put the difference towards it . When we arrived , an hour too soon unfortunately. We were shown to a seating area where we had coffee. There were workmen putting up timber in reception ..they were banging and drilling . Which made it hard to talk to each other . We then spoke to Matt the general manager and he gave us keys to our ground floor room. We had asked for this as my husband has mobility issues . The room we were shown to had broken plastics , scraped and dated furniture . Mould on shower curtain , tiles , ceiling and taps . And the lamp was bent . It was totally unacceptable. I was in tears . So my husband went back to reception so we could complain and ask for some kind of resolution . We were shown to another room which was in slightly better condition but the same type of room. We sat and talked about going back home , however we decided to make the best of a bad situation. The lamp in the room looked like a mug of coffee had been thrown on it . So we just asked to change that and stayed . However the room as a whole was passable but not ideal . I fortunately had brought an extension lead of plugs which helped but there were plug sockets that didn't work and not enough in the room. There is no power sockets next to your bed which was a pain re charging over night . There was rust around the bathroom taps which was a bit off putting . Also it was advertised on buy a gift.com as having air conditioning and there was none . There was a small fan in the room , but not comparable to air conditioning. The refreshments tray was good. Nice hot chocolate and plenty of teas and coffees . The bed was fairly comfy and clean . The towels were clean and plenty of liquid soap and body wash available . The general manager was very knowledgeable and friendly but he was sadly let down by the hotel (that we saw) being so tired looking and needing a complete overhaul. Was really looking forward to our stay after having spent a lovely time earlier in the week at The Malvern Hills . Sadly the hotel stay was not what we were expecting and I was so disappointed. Would not go back there again .

Hotel needs a complete overhaul. The whole place is tired and dated. Windows were rotten, carpets and furnishings stained, dirty towels, out of date bathrooms & worn furniture. There were queues at checkout, 2 hr waits for food, waits for drinks at the bar. Staff, particularly the younger ones, were doing their best in the face of adversity, but there is something wrong here that only a total refurbishment and rethink would solve. A couple of plus points - the grounds are nice, the pool was lovely (despite the jacuzzi not working) and the food - when it arrived - was actually quite good. However - do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else until you hear its been done up!

This is a very comfortable hotel with a good pool and spa. The staff were very helpful and friendly but, as currently in so much of the hospitality sector, they are overstretched due to staff shortages. The situation may also be exacerbated by a recent change of ownership - no longer Best Western. The service for dinner was very slow as they were coping with a wedding and a coach party as well as other guests. The staff and management did their best to make amends but were over stretched. Despite their current issues we would happily stay there again in the hope that they resolve their staffing problems.

This review is mixed...the front of house staff are brilliant especially Steve and Olivia...couldn't be more helpful...the food service was dissapointing..food was gorgeous ..we booked months back and reserved table and menu we wanted to be told on the night there will be a long wait...as so many parties were in even though we was a big group..se groups where more priorities than others...the pool teenagers where aloud to fool around in a family family jumping around on shoulders so we left.. The beds where awful so hard the worst night sleep iv had I have a bad back so did e of my family members and we couldn't wait to get up.. Took an hour to clear table.. Food I feel is over priced for portion size Cracked bowl given to my child for dessert not the only one this happened to.. Rooms was lovely and clean Staff seemed very over worked not enough staff ..they seemed highly stressed out.. The manager older lady seemed a tad rude ..we had yo deal with the fact dinner would be behind told we will be last even tho pre booked... Apart from that it's a beautiful place ..partial of the staff are welcoming...I feel they need more help in customer service in the dining area The staff served food to guests that didn't know what they was serving...so no communication between staff and kitchen

The staff were lovely. We had our grandchildren with us and it was their first experience in a hotel and they loved it. The rooms were adjoining so we were all together. The breakfast catered for all of them.

Stayed here on the 27th and 28th August as part of a bridal party for my best friends wedding. I stayed in room 70 which is up a couple of flights of stairs so it would not be suitable for the less mobile. The room was gorgeous, really quirky - an attic room with a walk in shower and air con which I believe to be an exec room. The room was highly cleaned and the bed was so comfortable. Tv, iron and ironing board and plentiful tea and coffee making facilities and bottles of water. My friend had the room opposite for the 1st night, no 72 - again such a beautiful room, it was a duplex room with a bathroom down the stairs. The hotel is lovely with beautiful grounds a perfect wedding venue. I had a great 2 nights stay here and if I were to stay here again I would definitely request one of these rooms as not all rooms in the hotel have air con. The 3 course evening email I had on the night before the wedding with the bridal party was gorgeous Calamari. Chicken Caesar salad and honeycomb cheesecake .., every course was absolutely delicious! The food at the actual wedding is probably the best I have ever had at a wedding :Ham Hock, chicken wrapped in bacon and the dessert selection at the end was amazing.Such beautiful food and served so well. The only reason I have given 4 stars is for 2 reasons: Firstly, the way the breakfast was delivered to the room the next morning - not covered which is unhygienic in my opinion, especially as the person who brought it up had to go up two flights of stairs and was breathing heavily all over my food. Food should be covered when delivering to rooms even if only in cling film or foil. My second reason is because the breakfast in the restaurant the next morning was complete bedlam - I believe they were short staffed which I understand at times can’t be helped! The young and very polite girl who usually works on house keeping was helping out and the poor girl was run ragged. There was very limited food left on the hot buffet and I mean very, VERY limited and I stood along with other members of the bridal party for at least 20 minutes waiting for it to be replenished. These are the only 2 negative points I have, however it wouldn’t discourage me from staying here again. The staff here are fantastic and my room was lovely and it was such a great weekend!
