What an unassuming venue from the outside However this hotel deserves 10 stars and would win Four in a bed hands down.
From the first drink to my case being collected from my room and taken to my car NOTHING was too much trouble.
We recently celebrated our wedding at the Wycliffe Hotel. We can only praise every member of staff, their attention to every detail was amazing.
It was a beautiful sunny day so we were able to have our drinks and canapés outside before entering the Cortona...More
Stayed at the Wycliffe on a business trip as couldn’t get in the Village Hotel. Will always stay here from now. Not only is the accommodation clean and modern and the staff the friendliest hotel staff I’ve met for a long time, but the breakfast...More
Had a fantastic evening at the Wycliffe, fabulous food, brilliant service, great atmosphere with live music thrown in.
We are having our wedding reception here in a couple of weeks and couldn't be in better hands, they really care.

Thank you for your question. In terms of taxis from Manchester Airport I would personally recommend using a private company such as (Metro or Lynx) as opposed to the traditional British "black cabs" which are often much more expensive.
It is difficult to give an exact figure but I would expect that a private firm would cost just over GBP 10.00.
With regards to the train transportation, it is a little more tricky. As there is no direct train from Manchester Airport to Stockport you will need to go into Manchester Piccadilly and change - this journey can take about 30 - 40 minutes and typically costs between GBP 4 -8.
Although it does cost a little more I would personally recommend a taxi as it usually only takes about 15 minutes.
I do hope this helps, if you have any further questions please don't hesitate to get in touch.
