I'm going to give this a "four in a bed" treatment. Firstly it wasnt the cheapest hotel I found to stay around the area, but it was a good area to access the things we were doing for the weekend. The breakfast was decent, zero complaints there. We were in room 46, a bit odd that the entrance is in the hallway where you expect there to be a lot of foot traffic but we werent disturbed. The room itself was pretty small, at first you dont really think it but our friends were in room 45 and they basicallly had a suite compared to ours, it looked like our room was an afterthought. Stuck in a cupboard, we also had an adjoining room which we didnt ask for but what if the people on the other side were massive snorers? Seemed odd to stick us there. The more we stayed in the room the more we found wrong, luckily we were only using it to sleep in and get ready and the things we did find wrong werent worth reporting to reception but it certainly would make us think twice about staying there again. The door to the room was covered in fingerprint marks where it hadn't been cleaned for so long, the shower curtain was past its used by date around 2008. When we moved the shower curtain some shave trimmings fell out. The grime underneath the bath taps is horrendous. There were lots of little things. It could do with a good old spring clean from top to bottom. I dont think I would stay here again but as a base for Kingston its alright

It is difficult to say which was the most impressive thing about our stay at the Warren Lodge - the excellent staff (particularly Ryan) or the fabulous location. However, the overall winner has to be the incredibly reasonable price. The full English breakfast gets a massive thumbs-up.

Dear Failsworth, Thank you so much for your kind review and also for choosing to stay with us for the weekend. It was a pleasure looking after you and your family. I am pleased that you found the location to be fabulous. I am also pleased that you all had a great time and that you found the staff to be excellent. I am very lucky to have a team that is guest focused and love what they do. I will pass this on to the team, as they will be so happy that you and the family enjoyed your stay. I am pleased to see that you enjoyed the breakfast, we get great reviews about breakfast as we always cook fresh to order. I will pass this onto Nikki, the Head Chef, as she will be pleased as she cooked all weekend. It was a pleasure to meet you and look after you in the hotel last weekend. I do hope you will all come down again soon. I would like to wish you and your family a very happy Christmas and a fabulous 2022. Stay safe!! Many thanks, Ryan Docherty

Stayed here for the first time on Saturday night - it certainly won’t be the last! It’s 5 minutes walk from my father-in-law and his partner. Tucked away in Church Square, Old Shepperton, right opposite the Norman church and right on the Thames. We were warmly welcomed by Linda who really looked after us while we were there. She managed to keep us happy and run reception and the bar - what a lovely lady. We’d booked with Ryan, the manager, who was a lovely, friendly chap. They had a village function on the night we stayed - a very nice, jolly crowd- but this didn’t disturb us in the least as our room (45) was at the front of the hotel. A lovely room, very spacious and spotlessly clean. Very comfy bed. We ate in the restaurant and, although the menu was quite small, and they had a big function on at the same time, Nicky in the kitchen dealt with our order in good time and again, lovely and friendly. I had a very tasty chicken parfait with toast and red onion chutney followed by a packed chicken, leek and ham hock pie with a beautiful baked potato and green beans and gravy - absolutely delicious! Husband, father-in-law and his partner all had the fish cake followed by fish and chips - clean plates all round. I couldn’t resist the chocolate brownie. The dining room is lovely, all linen fold panelling. We had a nice nightcap in the bar later - nice terrace outside overlooking the river with umbrellas and patio heaters for us smokers. David at the bar was smashing and both he and Linda worked non-stop to look after the function goers and the hotel guests! We slept soundly! We both had cooked breakfast the next morning which was very tasty - my husband was particularly impressed with the bacon! Fation (from Albania) was very attentive during breakfast service - thank you for looking after us, Fation. This really is a little gem with friendly service and we plan on returning a lot in the future when visiting father-in-law. Well done, Alison (the owner) - you have a lovely little hotel with old-fashioned style and most of all superb and friendly staff!

The meals are very good.( I can recommend the chicken and leek pie ) . The staff at breakfast are brilliant and always had a warm welcome. Hopefully wont be long before i return.

This hotel is in a beautiful setting on the river. The staff were incredibly helpful and some staff were very new to the hotel business but were wonderful. Special thank you to David who looked after us for the dinner times and Linda who looked after us at breakfast. Food was delicious and the breakfast was spot on. Small selection of cold items for breakfast plus a full English. We were there as a party of 9 with 4 rooms to celebrate an 80th and a 21st birthday. Rooms were spacious, good quality furniture and generally clean. The hotel could do with a bit of TLC in places but after the last 20 months of pandemic I think hospitality venues need a chance to get back on their feet first. Would I stay again? Yes 100%.
