Service was very amicable. I enjoyed the stay and the warm pub atmosphere. The room was good value for money. The desk clerk ordered a cab for me and gave me clear instructions for coming in late. I would stay again.

I spent 3 nights, 9 to 12 Dec . I was on my own and just wanted somewhere for sleep and a breakfast, so I chose the hotel on price and location. I was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel, restaurant and bars were bright and welcoming. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was small but very...

A quiet sufficient single room with ensuite shower. Bed very comfortable, nice fresh bedding, room overlooked the square which wasn't noisy. Shower clean, powerful and hot. Food amazing, staff couldn't be more helpful, especially general manager, Gerard (I think that's his name) couldn't be more pleasant! Thanks for all your assistance! Rooms can be a little close as I heard...

Staff are very, very friendly and seem to enjoy themselves at work. This really upgrades the accommodation from neutral to above average. Special compliments to the chef. You expect an average breakfast and standard bar meals but what you get is really worth the money. The location seems a bit odd as a base for visiting London but it's in...

My partner and I have stayed here numerous times, normally we leave quite happy. It has been a couple of years since we were here last. On arrival we were left standing at check in for 10 minutes, we had rang the bell twice only to be ignored by the member of staff who was busy talking to her friends...

Dear Nicola, I am really sorry that you left the hotel feeling short changed about your visit. Unfortuantely it was a very busy weekend and I was away due to family commitments. I have spoken with the lady involved in the check-in incident and the manager you spoke about was Agency staff that should not have been dealing with front...

We had a lovely stay in room 8 which overlooked the Square, The room was warm and had a nice feel to it. It was well presented by the cleaning staff. For me part of the charm of the Anchor was it's age, old oak panels and a floor that creaks. The church clock does chime the hours, but this...

The building downstairs is nice and charming and it's set in a nice little area. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was on the small side but then it was cheap so adequate. The only issues were the dated/bland decor upstairs and the fact that several things in the room needed updating and cleaning better. Wouldn't stop me...
