Travelodge Hayle presents a dichotomy of experiences, with a number of guests lauding its prime location and the professional, attentive service provided by the staff. The rooms are often described as clean and spacious, although some visitors have expressed dissatisfaction with outdated decor and inconsistent cleanliness. While the amenities and quietness receive praise, the atmosphere is occasionally seen as outdated, and opinions on value and noise levels vary among travelers.

Travelodge opened at the first opportunity after restrictions, and provided great value for money. Staff are all happy friendly people and making it work, cleaning surfaces constantly so providing reassurance.
So many other places we’re too terrified to do business these people show it can be done.

Stayed for 2 nights in room 105 of this conveniently located, cosy hotel. Staff were friendly, particularly at reception, and everything seemed reassuringly clean and well organised. Our room was spacious with a pleasant field view, and the double glazing blocked out most of the traffic noise. Decent curtains blocked out any light, helping to ensure a good night's sleep. The room temperature was fine, although a fan was provided, and the bathroom had a shower over the bath, which I prefer to a stand alone shower. A breakfast box is available, although we didn't take advantage of this as there are plenty of other options nearby. Starbucks is located next door, as well as a Shell garage with a useful shop. Across the road there's a Brewers Fayre and a Mcdonald's, and over the main roundabout you'll find Costa, Next, M&S (with cafe) and Boots. All of these can be navigated by foot as long as you take care! Similarly, the walk to Hayle Towans beach takes just over half an hour. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely consider staying again.

Not sure how I managed to get 4 nights here in July but so glad we did!

The Travelodge in Hayle is situated off the A30 right on the outskirts of the town. Great location and really not too far from St Ives/Carbis Bay (15 min drive), Penzance (30 mins) or Lands End (40 mins).

We were a family of 4 in one room - 3 adults and one child - and it was a tight squeeze. Accommodation was basic but very comfortable. Despite being directly off the main A30, we experienced very little noise. There is no restaurant but Starbucks, a Shell garage, M&S, Next and McDonalds are all in walking distance. Hayle itself is a very short walk or drive away.

There is on site free parking but the spaces at night fill up quick. A lot of cars were parked up in Starbucks on all the nights we were there. It also didn't help that a mobile camper van was obstructing part of the car park while we were there.

Room supplies and towels are topped up by leaving the appropriate signage on the door before 11am. We had very little interaction with the staff but when we did, they were very polite and friendly. The only issue we had was a mattress cover being soiled that we didn't notice on arrival but this was replaced upon request.

If you are a family with older kids, I would recommend additional rooms. As mentioned earlier, I was just happy to have found somewhere to stay as availability around St Ives was very low and I must have had a cancellation. I have no hesitation in recommending the Hayle Travelodge if you wanted to explore this end of Cornwall.

The location for me was key and allowed us to have a base to visit St Ives, St Michaels Mount, Carbis Bay and Penzance. It was a very comfortable stay despite being a tight fit for a family of 4.

The location is okay although beware as there are no footpaths on busy roads around it so walking is difficult. The room (which cost us £256 for 2 nights) was directly next to reception so was very noisy as people going in and out constantly, chatting and banging about loudly. Also whenever someone bangs a door nearby or above the whole room shakes and the heater rattles. It is a pet friendly room, covered in dog hairs. The bathroom is a wet room, which floods so whenever you go in it is soaking wet and slippery and sink is very low so difficult to wash in or shave without hurting your back. Finally, the wifi purchased only works on 1 device, not 2 as stated. Have stopped in lots of travelodges before but after this experience, we will definitely stay in Premier Inns or other hotels from now on.

We are a family of 4 with 2 animals so room was a bit smaller than I imagined, no a/c (we weer aware but had no choice) so we were lucky it wasn't too hot. We chose the location for the availability and near attractions. Staff was very friendly and helpful, there's a Shell garage with Costa express , a Starbucks right outside the hotel, Brewers, a Costa café and a McDonalds but plenty of good restaurants near and good takeaways. We experienced a lot of noise from the rooms on the 1st floor on the first night from 4 am but 2nd night was not so bad. Rooms could do with a mini fridge for some snacks/fruit and even medication (specially with children).
I would have given this hotel a better review but the room was not cleaned properly on arrival as we could see small pieces of rubbish on the carpet and could do with an update of items. Bins are scruffy and a bit rusty, there were lots of dust and fluff on the toilet roll holder, lots of hand prints all over the bigger walls and worst of all...we found a condom wrapper under the big bed (whilst putting some shoes underneath it) which to me is quite a serious fault and shows the lack of hygiene specially in times of Covid. I was very disappointed with that specially when I know that my children could have found it.
The stars given are for the friendly and welcoming staff, the location and the fact that it allows animals only. Unfortunately the other starts were lost for the noise and dirty bedroom.
Best cooked breakfast was at Duckies cafe, and best meals at the Old Forge and Old Quay. Best takeway "The Balti".

We stayed at Hayle Travelodge Monday - Friday (4 nights) for a mini break. From the minute we arrived we felt welcome & extremely safe given the current situation! The room & bathroom were spotless, there is currently no room service which we felt was a good thing to keep us and the staff safe.
We had a very comfortable stay, the bed was comfy & everything we needed was provided (including a fan.....thank you travelodge!) It was very quiet considering how close it is to the main road.
The hotel is ideally located with plenty of beautiful places to visit nearby. There is a restaurant over the road, a McDonald’s, Starbucks & a 24 hour petrol station which sells all the essentials.
The staff were excellent despite the challenging circumstances, special mention to the manager Emma who clearly cares for each and every guest. This gives the hotel a homely feel which is rare in a hotel of this type!
I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a nice base for exploring the area, we will certainly be returning as soon as we can.

Very typical Travelodge. Comfortable and clean. But like others I've stayed in could do with a little freshening up. The exterior needs a lick of paint to make it look better. Something that could have happened during lockdown when no-one was staying there. Also the bedrooms are starting to look tired, there are improvements here like usb sockets but the rooms do need redecorating. Bathrooms are fine but I do wish they would put more towel rails in. The service was good, always someone on the desk, no trouble in getting anything you needed like extra towels, teas & coffees etc. Also the staff were very friendly and efficient.
As its on a busy section of the A30, some noise is to be expected

Stayed in two separate Travelodges in the Southwest recently. Both were very good, however the bathroom cleanliness and less tired look at Exeter had the edge on that at Hayle. All minor but worth a mention. Hayle is an excellent location for exploring that part of Cornwall, and I felt perfectly safe there during the current worrying times. I would certainly stay there again.

How disappointed were we? We booked a night at this hotel as an extension to a family holiday.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate this is a budget hotel and some will say you "get what you pay for", but surely even a budget hotel has standards?
The staff were pleasant, but didn't ever seem to be on hand to sort anything out, and those that emerged from time to time seemed to be too busy to help.
Breakfast boxes are okay, but have no choice available for vegans. Our room was incredibly hot, as there is no air con here, but a very dirty hotel fan, and one of our own fans running, plus the window open did nothing to cool it down. In fact, the corridor and reception were by far cooler than the rooms we booked! When this was mentioned to staff, we were greeted with a shrug and "its the time of year isn't it? Nothing we can do about it sorry"...
The room initially appeared clean and airy, but on entering the bathroom, which stank to high hell of headache inducing bleach, the shower curtain hem was dirty, the temp control button on the bath tap was missing, and the extractor fan probably hadn't been cleaned in goodness knows how long.
The WiFi connection was terrible, so much so that the kids had to resort to using their precious data (any parent who knows, knows!) and the telly in the room had a line running through the screen.
The room itself had a funny odour to it.. A fousty carpet smell.
The bed was okay-ish.. Or so we thought... We thought we'd save the poor rushed housekeeping team 5 minutes by stripping the beds ourselves before leaving, and were horrified to find what looks like an old period stain on the mattress protector.
Simply unacceptable, and we were glad to leave. I don't even understand how travelodge can charge more than a rival company, yet not look after their guests as well. The only reason we booked travelodge is because they accommodated our puppy, but if you are travelling without a pet, I would urge people to save their money and go to the rival company across the road where guests are actually treated like they matter, and don't have to put up with substandard hygiene!

Hi I can assure you that the hotel is not a hostel. There have in the past been some unfortunate guests that have had to stay but only for a short amount of days and Hayle doesn’t agree anymore of any of those guests.

Hi there, I'm fairly certain this Travelodge is pet friendly, but it is probably worth sending an email or giving them a call to check and find out what the cost is. There is no restaurant attached, but there is a Brewers Fayre restaurant across the road and a McDonalds as well. There is also a service station basically right outside the door to the hotel where you can get some snacks/sandwiches etc :) My family and I stayed there in May this year, hope this helps!
