We had an absolutely lovely long weekend at the Penrose B&B. Spotlessly clean, comfortable and charming, a beautifully-kept victorian house. Peaceful and quiet. Heidi and Chris serve excellent cooked-to-order breakfasts and are superb hosts who went out of their way to make our stay really pleasant. They provided lots of suggestions about things to do and places to eat. Lostwithiel is a place to visit in its own right. In addition, it's in quite a good location to explore Cornwall more widely. For a small town, it has some very good restaurants and takeaways.

I simply can’t say enough nice things about this b&b. The owners are absolutely lovely, greeted me with smiles in the car park, helped me with my bags and gave me all the info I needed about the local town (also lovely and an easy stroll from the b&b). The inside of the building is beautifully kept and squeaky clean. Plenty of space in the bedroom and the biggest en suit bathroom I’ve ever seen. Games and books available in the common room. The owners really do think of everything and anything you might need - dressing gowns, toiletries and even a sewing kit just in case. The bed was super comfy and the view from the window is beautiful. I only wish I was staying longer. If you are in the area for any reason, don’t miss out on this place. It’s absolutely fantastic and the price per night is beyond reasonable.

On arrival we had a friendly welcome from Chris, who welcomed us into their B&B and instantly made us feel at home. We were shown around the home and given an abundance of information about the surrounding area and lots of lovely walks. My husband and I were here for a wedding so our weekend has a full itinerary but I can’t wait to come back to the Penrose to have a couple of days to explore Lostwithiel. The bedroom is huge!!! Beautifully decorated and clean. But the winner for me is the view! It is breath taking and the photos don’t do it justice. We were given a breakfast order sheet when we arrived and selected what we wanted the next day! Breakfast was gorgeous, set in a beautiful room with a laid back ambiance. Big cooked breakfast, cereal, fruit, fresh juice and plenty of tea and coffee. What more do you need. You can come and go as you please, we got in at 2am after the wedding. You have a key and all they ask is that you lock the door behind you. I am so glad we booked this b&b. We had originally booked the best western and when we went to meet our friends at that hotel, there wasn’t a comparison! Big clean rooms, friendly owners and a banging breakfast! My kinda place. Thanks Chris and Heidi Lucy & Jahmel

Another fabulous stay here. This was our 3rd year here and, as always, it's been brilliant. Stayed for 6 six nights. Penrose is a great central location for all parts of Cornwall. The rooms , brekky , service and friendliness are top notch. Chris will help you park your car(he loves it). Penrose has become our home from home in Cornwall. Definitely worth booking ahead. Many thanks to Heidi, Chris and their lovely ladies❤️❤️❤️

Having stayed 2 nights in Room 5 at Penrose B&B, I can honestly say it’s the best B&B I have ever stayed in. Room 5 even had an amazing well equipped kitchen, beautiful bathroom & a super comfy King sized bed . It was accessed by patio doors & the views from Penrose are stunning. There were so many lovely extra touches, from home made jams, chutneys, sewing kits, shoe cleaning pack, full sized products in the bathroom & many more, that I cannot fault it. The room was spotlessly clean & fresh. Heidi & Chris were the most excellent hosts & nothing was too much trouble. They were very friendly & I received such a warm welcome on arrival. They have not only a beautiful B&B but a home with lots of original features they can be proud of. Although I didn’t have a cooked breakfast, it looked amazing & made with locally sourced products. Parking is an issue in Lostwithiel but Penrose has its own car park albeit a little tricky to park but Chris was more than happy to manoeuvre my car for me. All in all I’d thoroughly recommend Penrose for anyone looking to stay in the area. Lostwithiel is a beautiful historic town & it’s an ideal base to visit local attractions like Eden, Heligan, Restormel castle, Bodmin & Wenford Railway , Bodmin Gaol & a multitude of beaches. I look forward to returning again in the future . Thank you so much Heidi & Chris.

Had an amazing stay in this wonderful hotel, home of Chris and Heidi! Nothing too much trouble…. Welcomed our dog and even provided scrambled eggs for the dog every morning! Rooms are clean, atmospheric and very comfortable and the locally sourced ingredients for breakfast with Heidi’s home made jam and marmalade an absolute must…. We even bought some to bring away! We will certainly return!

Along with some friends we spent three nights at Penrose B & B this June. We would highly recommend this accommodation. The hosts Heidi and Chris are very friendly, helpful and give a warm welcome. The rooms are very comfortable, well furnished, and well stocked with all the accessories needed enhance your stay. Breakfast choice and quality were excellent. Together with a central location for lots of attractions, we intend to visit again in the future. Ivan & Val.
