Decided to eat here for my mum's birthday as a family as we only live 10 minutes away. From the minute we walked in, we were made to feel welcome and the friendly bar and waiting staff were so helpful and attentive that we felt like old friends more than customers. They'd taken the trouble to decorate the table for...

Having decided to meet up for lunch with friends we chose the Oak. They had recently had an Italian themed night and there were some specials still available. The staff were very good and the chef chatted to us explaining the dishes and we chose a pasta dish-spaghetti with clams and mussels-and a veal dish. The pasta dish-Con Vongole-is my...

Only stayed for one night but would certainly recommend this as a great place to stay when visiting the area. Just off the main road our rooms were quite small but had everything we needed and, with what looked like new double glazing, were also very quiet. The atmosphere in the bar was excellent and from the number of people...

A really well run pub restaurant. The landlords attended to every need from thoughtful table arrangements for the birthday treat to the superb steak homemade main course to the excellent coffee. Nothing was too much trouble. They also catered very well for an infant in the party. HEARTILY RECOMMENDED AS SOMEWHERE TO EAT.

We stopped off here, five adults, one baby, and one dog. They were very accommodating with the baby, providing a high chair and hot water. Dogs are allowed in the pub area. We visited in a Sunday and a Carvery was on. They also had a specials board and offered side options. We had the carvery which was lovely. The...

We stayed at the Royal Oak for a mini break at the start of September. Graham and Simon are lovely hosts and made us feel very welcome! Set in the small town of Lostwithiel, the hotel was a good base for visiting the surrounding area. Our room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The...

Stayed here one night for a short break on the way to Hayle. Lovely double room and staff friendly and helpful. I have various issues with foods due to IBS and currently following low FODMAP diet. This can make life complex when eating out. However after asking what was in various items on the menu and requesting some things not...
