Mike and Barbara were very friendly and as helpful as other reviewers have found, making sure we had dairy free products and helping us to find places to eat. Breakfasts in the conservatory overlooking the lovely garden were ample and delicious. Our room was very clean and well stocked with coffee, tea, cakes etc but rather small. We had our...

We were warmly greeted by Mike immediately when the taxi dropped us off. Barbara was just as friendly and filled us in on all the little amenities they provided for the room. They obviously pay attention to details and the room was very clean with a good bed and a small shower. The room and bath were smaller than we...

We stayed for 3 nights at The Gables. We were met by Barbara who was very warm and welcoming and showed us the ropes. We stayed in the Lamona room which was beautiful. There were so many thoughtful touches - little sugar cubes in pots and small Kilner jars full of coffee in our room, tins full of chocolate cake,...

We were welcomed and looked after by Barbara and Mike. The room was immaculate and had everything you could need. Everywhere was clean and tidy. And breakfast was delicious! In such a great location near to the Eden project and Heligan Gardens. We are looking forward to going back in the near future. Couldn't recommend it enough.

The minute I walked in, I felt entirely at home - Barbara is a wonderful hostess with local knowledge galore - ask her anything! The room was lovely: immaculately clean and very comfortable, with my own private bathroom which was an added bonus. I was travelling alone, but if you do happen to be travelling with a partner and prefer...
