The hotel was very quiet but we were looked after well. Breakfasts were individually cooked to order and piping hot. Our room was warm and clean with a nice bathroom. Both our room and the restaurant have stunning views over the bay. The hotel was being re-painted while we were there but this did not detract from our enjoyment. In...

Hi I am actually going to write a wee review about a place I haven't stayed in! I just wanted to leave a short review about this hotel,as I couldn't let what took place pass without comment. So on the 15th September we arrived at this charming hotel only to find it was full,so the very very friendly lady at...

Stayed here for a week for business. The single room was compact and bijou to be polite. There was paint peeling off the walls in the corner and the beach must have some pebbles missing as they were filling the pillows. The single bed, yes some hotels still have single beds, was very narrow but reasonably comfortable. Can't fault the...

It's such a shame - this hotel could be so much better! Staff very friendly and food (breakfast) was good. Public rooms are attractive, but accommodation lets them down.. Occupied a 'luxury sea view room', certainly the location is great and the views across the bay are gorgeous. However, the room was not luxurious. The decor was tired and dated...

What a lovely location for a hotel. Some rooms overlooking the sea, we stayed in room 33 which you could get a side view of the sea. Comfortable room with good facilities. The dining room and bar also overlook the sea. Hotel is yards away from the Coastal Path which is excellent if you are a walker. You can walk...

Our third stay and it was just as relaxing with warm friendly staff as usual, Kerry the receptionist brightened up our mornings and again on our return of days out. George always there at hand in the evenings to help plan our next day and recommendations for evening meal. 5 star food to match a 5 star service

I did not stay at this hotel. I was travelling from The Eden Centre and looking for somewhere to stay. The car park of the Carlyon Bay Hotel was very full so I did not stop there to ask for vacancies and continued along Sea Road. I pulled in to the car park of the Porth Avallen Hotel and went...

Superb location overlooking the Carlyon Bay. We did not mind the slightly dated decor in the public rooms as found this in keeping with the original purpose and age of the building, but our own bedroom was in the attic, very small, with single beds in the head-to-toe position. There was wallpaper hanging off the walls, dirty carpet and no...

Stayed here last week. Two single rooms. Dated decor. Hadn't been decorated since the 80's. Dusty. Grubby carpet. Cheap furniture. Welcome book - well see my picture. Condensation on bedroom window. Mold growing on bathroom window. Peeling paint. Restaurant overpriced with little choice. Offered a slice of bread with the pate. Reminded them 10 minutes later reminded them again. When...

Room was hot, uncomfortable and dirty. Bathroom plumbing dreadful and again dirty. The entire place needed a deep clean. Wifi non existent. Restaurant over priced. If we could have found alternative accommodation we would not have stayed. Reminded us of "Fawlty Towers" except it wasn't amusing !! Only good thing was location.
