The Rashleigh Arms was built in 1851 on the foundations of old clay cellars and was given its name after the creator of Charlestown Harbour, formerly West Polmear, Charles Rashleigh. It also boasts probably one of the only Grade II listed car parks in the country, basically the site of old coal storage yards, and is situated in a World Heritage Site. The Rashleigh is ideally positioned in central Cornwall and provides an excellent jump off point for lots of great attractions with the world famous Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan within five miles radius. We are also within sight of the historic Tall Ships and Charlestown harbour, a world heritage site and an attraction in itself. The Pub has moved with times and although over 150 years old boasts eight four star gold rated rooms, a public bar, popular with the locals that shows all live sport and has great bands every fortnight. Our lounge bar is fantastic for relaxing in with large leather sofas and armchairs with a touch of historic Charlestown. The restaurant is modern, open plan and serves locally sourced food from 12 - 9pm every day; and if the weather's good our patio and garden is the ideal place to spend a few hours or more!

We came back to the Rashleigh Arms as our first stay was so good, we were not disappointed. Kasper, Paul and the Team were so helpful, friendly and the stay was exceptional. The food is fantastic and very reasonably priced. 5 Stars is not enough

We had a great 3 night break here in October 21'. Location is perfect - plenty of places to eat in the evening within walking distance. Our room was a great size, very clean, well appointed and had everything we needed for a luxury break. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and our evening meal in the restaurant was great too! Kasper and his staff made us feel really welcome & looked after us brilliantly - thanks to all the staff for a great stay.

Another great stay at the Rashleigh Arms. Staff are great, really friendly and helpful, really appreciated the suggestions of where to visit on the Lizard Peninsula. Room is good with nice views over the harbour. Appreciated the fresh towels every day, which I haven’t experienced in a hotel post Covid. In fact in this post Covid world it is so nice that the hotel is busy, the staff are happy, and the food is really good. We ate at the pub and really enjoyed it. Good breakfast too. So nice to be back and will definitely visit again in the future.

Stayed at the Rashleigh from 3rd to 7th October 2021 and it was superb. Wonderful staff and excellent food. The location is also great and easy to get to other places. We had eaten at the Rashleigh some years ago and was good then and didn’t disappoint this time either.

The room was very pleasantly decorated and the shower was good. Fresh towels were provided every day (which is too often in my opinion, but appreciated nonetheless). The bed was comfortable and storage for clothes and cases was adequate. The food in the Rashleigh Arms was great; dinner and breakfast was really very good indeed. The location of the Rashleigh Arms is very convenient for all of what Charlestown has to offer. So, those are the positives… now to describe the staff. Well, if the place itself is excellent, the staff are just perfect! Every member of staff was polite, affable and respectful (without being patronising). I don’t think I can ever remember a place where the staff were so consistently good. We will definitely return. Thank you.
