Beautiful and relaxing! A yearly favorite for our little family!! We love the log cabin and its loft, falling leaves, complimentary hot cocoa and wine, wood stove, hammock outside, beef stew, puzzles and board games, sauna, paths, and twinkling lights at night.

We made reservations in mid September for one night in early October. Sorensen's looked like a great place to overnight on our two week fall colors drive through Northern California, Nevada and Oregon. Wow, was Sorensen's a highlight! Talk about fall color, Aspen galore and in full glory. Sorensen's had only one cabin still available when we called: the old...

The setting for this resort is very beautiful. It sits at the edge of Hope Valley and the cabins are set amongst an aspen grove. Grounds are very nicely landscaped, with many signs describing the flora and fauna. It is a very serene and rustic mountain retreat. And, the Carson River is just across the highway. The log cabins are...

My wife and I stayed at Sorensen's Resort for 4 nights with our dog. We found this place at dog trekker.com. The resort has a number of cabins that allow dogs and it worked well. The staff are very accommodating. The restaurant is the only one in the area and we ate all breakfasts and dinners there. The food was...

Every year we try and get our annual fix by staying at Sorensen's Resort and again this year proved another rewarding experience! This was our first visit in September and the trees were just starting to change their colors. John & Patty and their staff again were superb. The only sad issue was the water level in the West Fork...

A few weeks ago we enjoyed the great outdoors, fishing nearby Willow Creek and attending a nearby wedding in the woods, but indulged ourselves by staying at Sorensen's. Charming cabins and delish food.

My wife and I have been wanting to this resort for some time and we finally made it. Located 20 miles south of Lake Tahoe, we found a delight among quaking aspen trees and tall evergreens! Cabins built as if you were back in the 20's, with wood fireplaces in every room and wood stacked on every porch. No TV's....

We loved our stay at Sorensen's Resort. My husband and I traveled to the Lake Tahoe area to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary. What a perfect place to celebrate - Sorensen's Resort in the Chapel cabin. Upon check in we were greeted by the owner, John. He was friendly, funny, and we felt like old friends coming to visit his...

The Sorensen's Resort offers a variety of lodging. From the website we chose the Pinon Cabin which is a mini cabin the size of a hotel room. Log cabin with beautiful rustic woods was just as advertised and included breakfast off the extensive menu. If you are looking for rustic, look no further. By the way, don't expect TV and...

We stayed at the River Cabin across the street from the main Sorenson's compound. It's a very small, outdated and shabbily appointed cabin. The location was very nice, with the river right in the back yard and beautiful views of the mountains from the back deck. There was a nice hot tub and newer propane BBQ grill on the deck,...

sorensens, Owner at Sorensen's Resort, responded to this review

As owner of the River House and Sorensen’s Resort, it is surprising to receive this negative review. On a couple of occasions, I had the opportunity to chat with the guests and I was told they were having a great time and that they “loved the place”. As guests they also had the opportunity to comment in writing through a...
