We decided to stop at the Royal Hotel for lunch on a Sunday. We decided to have the roast of the day. You could either have beef or pork. We decided on the pork which was fabulous. The meals took quite a while to come as the restaurant was very busy but it was certainly worth it. The serving was...

After a energetic morning riding bikes on the Dungog Common, we needed sustenance. The stop at the Royal Hotel was well worth it. On Mondays and Tuesdays they run $10 specials and what good value they are. I had the Chilli Bowl and was impressed with the flavours and freshness. The accompaning salad was excellent and the chilli was hot...

Very basic pub accommodation. Room was a bed with walls but clean. Shared toilet and showers were not great. Common area for tea coffee and TV was good with cereal and toast all complimentary which was also good.

Our group all had amazing snitties from the bistro. Massive meal with heaps of chips, beautiful big fresh salad with pineapple, beetroot and orange which you dont normally get in a salad at a pub. And the price for all that was amazing!

The rooms and common areas where clean. Common area included dinning table, sofa, TV and small kitchen area where you could make tea and coffee. The rooms are basic, you get a bed, clean linen, one towel, a sink and a mirror. Our room opened onto a shared balcony which provided more space and was pleasant to sit on. I...

My partner and I and our two friends were excited about visiting Dungog to attend our mate's 65th Birthday Party . We had booked two rooms a couple of weeks before at the Royal and were informed that the rooms were $75 a double. When booking in around 5pm on the day of the party we were told our rooms...

We thought this place was great value. Pub has character and open fires were great. Rooms might be a bit cold in the middle of winter, and could be a bit noisy depending on other guests. Our trip was great, the staff friendly, rooms extremely clean and bed v. comfortable. Basic but great value.
